Analysis of competition in the services market

The thesis deals with the analysis of market competition hairdressing services, concretely with analysis of three salons which provide hairdressing services in the Centre of Prague. Preliminary I present and define key terms that play basic role in the analysis of competition in the chosen field (competition, the specifics of hairdressing market, the specifics of consumer behavior). To make my own research I elected standards that influence customers when they choose a hairdressing salon, and I created questionnaire. During valuation I commented point gains. Total score were used to to evaluate the competitive position of hairdressing salons in the market.

Analysis of Financing Research and Development in the Czech Republic

The topic of this bachelor Thesis is an Analysis of Financing Research and Development in the Czech Republic. Research and Development (R&D) plays an important role in improving the competitive ability of the Czech Republic, for it constitutes a source for increasing productivity, economic growth and employment. The results of R&D lead to creation of new products and services, which in return increases the quality of life of the Czech citizens. This bachelor thesis focuses on analysis of financing R&D in the Czech Republic. The objective is to find out who finances R&D in the Czech Republic, where do these funds go to, and what they are used on. This thesis also focuses on R&D employees and R&D departments in which they work. The bachelor thesis is concluded by comparison between the R&D data for Czech Republic and other countries form the Europian Union.

Strategy of Corporate Social Responsibility in Hilton Worlwide company and its application in local conditions

This bachelor thesis focuses on strategy of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in company Hilton Worldwide. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with concept of corporate social responsibility, with the philosophy of CSR, its history and the present. This part also defines key words related to corporate social responsibility like CSR, stakeholders, corporate philanthropy, sustainable development, business ethics and corporate citizenship. It also focuses on the important role of communication in general and also in CSR. The practical part introduces the concept and strategy of CSR in the company Hilton Worldwide. This part also presents hotels Hilton Prague and Hilton Prague Old Town and their activities within the CSR. SWOT analysis as strategy tool was used to evaluate the concept and communication of CSR in both hotels. The final results of analyses showed problems in internal and external communication. Based on results of SWOT analysis are suggested solutions and recommendations that should improve understanding and perception of CSR concept in both hotels, improve internal communication for employees, and use all modern communication tools and channels for communicating information about CSR activities. These measures will lead to increased loyalty and strengthening the company's competitiveness.

Policy development and implementation: case study of social housing

The diploma thesis focuses on the process of creation and implementation of public policy which is examined on the social housing policy. The aim of this thesis is to explore how is a certain policy prepared and put into use, considering the social housing policy as an example. Therefore, the key research question inquires how the process of creation and implementation of public policy looks like. The first chapter of the thesis deals with theoretical background of the public policy process, stressing the role of public policy documents. The second chapter describes the area of Czech social politics and policy as a cover for social housing policy development. The third chapter examines the history of Czech housing policies. The final chapter focuses on the development of social housing policy and examines its connections with certain public policy documents.

Antibodies against sand flies saliva in domestic animals from endemic areas of visceral leishmaniasis

The main aim of this thesis was to test sera of domestic animals from endemic areas of visceral leishmaniasis in north and northwest Ethiopia for antibodies against presumed vector P. orientalis salivary glands and to clarify behavior of the sand fly and the role of domestic animals in transmission of visceral leishmaniasis. Specific IgG antibodies against P. orientalis saliva were tested in dogs, cattle, goats, sheep and donkeys. Above the cut-off value there was 76 % analyzed dogs, 15 % cattle, 26 % goats, 60 % sheep and 45 % donkeys. Dogs, goats and donkeys revealed significantly higher anti-P. orientalis antibodies compared to control animals. In the case of cattle, goats and donkeys cut-off levels were very high and is questionable if observed results are relevant. Canine sera were screened also for anti-P. orientalis IgG2 and 88% of Ethiopean sera revealed significantly higher IgG2 than control sera. The next aim was to detect if canine sera from Ethiopia with anti-P. orientalis antibodies react with other bloodsucking insect saliva by using immunoblotting method. In saliva of sand fly Sergentomyia schwetzi, which is abundant in Ethiopia, canine sera reacted mostly with 36, 37 and 51 kDa proteins. The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of a health care professional dealing with personal experience in a patient's role. The theoretical part presents facts associated with health and ilness psychology, as well as pieces of knowledge about human personality and a man's role in human society. It describes the special demands of general nurse's profession on a person. Special attention is paid to a situation when a nurse becomes a patient. The research part analyses the influnce of nurse's profession over her personal health and ilness perception. It describes difficulties that are experienced when a nurse is coping with her own hospital admission. The main goal of the thesis is to find out whether personal experience in a patient's role influences nurse's future life in any way.

The effect of tick salivary proteins on innate immunity cells

Saliva of Ixodid ticks contains a whole array of pharmacologically active molecules with vasodilatory, antihemostatic, and immunomodulatory activities. This thesis focuses on two types of salivary proteins, serpins and cystatins, and their role in immunomodulation. These protease inhibitors are known to affect many biological functions. To better understand their role in tick saliva we examined their effect on dendritic cells and their ability to modulate the immune response after pathogen infection. As model pathogens, Borrelia spirochetes and tick-borne encephalitis virus were used.

Serge Reggiani, the importance of inconspicuousness

I would like to understand the importance of an actor in a movie. I choosed Serge Reggiani, a french actor, who never became a star number one. Reggiani went through a lot of important movies in principal or small roles. What it really means acting in a movie, what brings freedom to an actor in front of a camera and is one actor able to play different characters in every other movie. A diversity and length of his filmography, different directing styles he went through will help me to concretize attitude of an actor and perception of his „different“ characters by audience. I would like to bring up some acting metodes in cinematography in my work too.
