Leisure Education of Gifted Children

The thesis presents leisure education of gifted children. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part consists of basic terminology and some models and types of natural gift. Next, it deals with the characteristics and various types of gifted children, their identification, specific groups of gifted children and their usual problems. The second part of the thesis introduces the institutions and organisations which are offering leisure activities for gifted children. It presents the research about the offer of leisure activities in leisure centres and the awareness of leisure centre personnel of the gifted children issue. The third part focuses on the specifics of working with gifted children in their leisure time. It also presents the concept of leisure educators in relation to gifted children. Finally, the principles of work with gifted children and possible forms of fostering their natural gift are discussed.

Care for gifted children in Znojmo region

This thesis deals with the care for gifted children in Znojmo. I is focused primarily on finding care for these children in primary school. The work is divided into theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical section there is characterized term ,,talent? and different views on this term. It points to the importace of its identification and association with IQ and creativity, inform on the types and areas in which the talent can be schown and the possibilities for gifted children in education. It also provides insight into the legislation for gifted children. In the practical part there were used questionnaires and interviews to determine whether the care for these children is sufficient and what form of this care is usually used.

Educating Gifted Children and Specific Features of Teaching Foreign Languages to Gifted Children

This thesis concentrates on contexts and view-points, that should determinate the character of activities designed for gifted children in foreign languages classes. This work proposes some methods and ways that are convenient for gifted learners. It deals also with the characteristics of the teacher, who is able to conduct the gifted and the characteristics of the gifted in order to devise such activities that satisfy their special cognitive, emotional and social needs.

Specifics of the integration of exceptionally gifted children in kindergarten

This thesis deals with the integration of gifted children to kindergarten. It outlines the needs and demands of these children - parents, educators, environment, forms and methods of education. The practical part focuses on specific research - identifying gifted children in kindergarten and on the conditions of their education. The research was conducted by e-mail between kindergarten teachers in all 14 regions of the Czech Republic. The practical part is supplemented by two case report of exceptionally gifted children (a boy and a girl) who are (resp. were) integrated and educated in private nursery schools. Conclusion The thesis contains suggestions for how to practice.


Gifted pupil in contemporary school

Key words: gift, talent, education of gifted children, teaching methods and forms of working oganization This graduation theses is focused on gifted children and their signs. The theoretical part contains legislature relevant to educating of gifted children in the Czech Republic and various options of the optimalisation of educating process for gifted pupils. It also focus on different methods of recognising gifted children, educating them in school, options of educating and its problems, it deals with the formes of organisation of the teaching methods and basic approaches to educating of gifted pupils. The experimental part of this work is divided into two parts. The first one shows the pupils' oppinion about education, who visit the school for gifted children, the second one contents interview with teachers and examples of the good work with educating children.

Learning English: Exceptional Ways and Needs of Exceptional Children

This diploma thesis has outlined the issues of gifted education and the problems which this whole area of education faces. It introduced the basic topics related to the gifted population such as the gift itself, its division etc. In addition, it described the basic forms of work with gifted students, with emphasis on the importance of teacher training and introduced (using interviews) the personal characteristics of teachers which are considered by the gifted students important. Furthermore it presented specific training needs of gifted students and showed the possibilities in helping the gifted. In its second part, this diploma thesis also presented some of the unusual methods which can be used in the process of teaching and which are usually highly effective when presented to gifted students. Individual methods were analysed and possible applications of each of those were described. For a better understanding, each of the methods was accompanied by an example. During the research I realized even more that the issue of gifted children and gifted individuals in general in the Czech Republic is not sorted out adequately. In September 2014 the Public Opinion Research Centre examined views of the Czech public on the creation of special schools in compulsory nine-year basic education and views on whether the children with physical or mental disabilities, children from poor or vice versa from wealthy families, children of foreign nationals, Roma children and gifted children should be educated in mainstream classes.

Psychological Connections of Exceptional Music Gift of Children

The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the key topics of researching musical talent. After an introductory chapter, which discusses giftedness in general, the focus turns to defining the basic concepts of musical giftedness, classifying musical abilities, and looking at the issue from historical perspective, and also the possibilities of identifying musical abilities and developing them further. The subsequent part explores the most important factors which influence musical talent: social environment, musical and personal factors. The empirical part is based on qualitative research of musicians with exceptional musical talent. Using case studies, it tries to show a specific form of musical talent and its individuality, as well as possible ways in which it can be manifested, thus complementing the findings of the theoretical part.

Legislation on the education of the children with specific needs and of gifted and talented children

Title: Legislation on education of children with specific needs and of gifted and talented children. Goals: Analysis of legislative trends in education of individuals out of population standards. The research is therefore focused both on children with specific needs and gifted and talented children. Method: There was used a historical-comparative method comparing single legal documents (laws, public notices, statutory orders, guidelines etc.) relating to the integration of children with specific educational needs and highly talented children into the educational process. The data were gathered during library visits, through internet, the ASPI database and single research of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of the Prague City Hall. The analysis respected the aspects of time, quality and quantity. Findings: From the described legal documents running through the history, there emerges greater tendency of integration of the children with specific needs into the society. This tendency is noticeable even from the gradual making and improving legal conditions for educating people with all sorts of handicaps.
