Functional fitness and Vit. D levels in patients with hepatopathy

Introduction: patients with hepatopathy are at risk of vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D levels affect, among other things, metabolism and physiological functions of muscle tissue and thus functional fitness. The aim of this study is to assess muscle mass and strength in relation to vitamin D levels and other factors that affect functional physical fitness in patients with cirrhosis, compared to a control group of patients without hepatopathy and other chronic comorbidities. Methods: 11 patients with liver cirrhosis were enrolled in an observational cohort study compared with 11 controls without chronic comorbidities. Anthropometric and bioimpedance measurements were performed, functional tests, the 6MWT 6-minute walk test, hand grip strength assessment and calorimetry examination were also evaluated, and laboratory parameters were assessed. Study participants completed the CLDQ test, which assessed the quality of life of people with liver disease. Respondents answered questions regarding lifestyle, eating habits, physical activity and functional physical fitness. For patients with cirrhosis, the Child Pugh score and MELD score were used to assess the progression of cirrhosis. Results. The Effect of Zumba Fitness Program on the Physical Condition of a Primary School Student

The main objective of this thesis is to verify the impact of the Zumba fitness program on the overall physical condition of a primary school student. The theoretical part describes the Zumba characteristics focusing on skills, abilities, and physical condition development of a primary school child. In connection to the thesis objective, conclusion of the theoretical part focuses on detailed description of motoric tests and their usage at primary school. The practical part contains the results of primary-school-pupils testing, including evaluation and commentary; an example of an intervention programme; and a recommendation for physical education lessons. Title: The Level of Physical Activity and Physical Fitness at Elementary School-Age Children Author: Bc. Filip Soucha Thesis supervizor: Mgr. Jakub Kokštejn, Ph.D. Objectives: To determine and compare the level of physical activity, physical fitness and the amount of subcutaneous fat at younger school children. Furthermore, the next goal is to find out the correlation between them. Methods: The research group consists of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade pupils (n=77). The Unifittest (6-60) was applied to deduce the level of physical fitness, the TGMD- 2 test was employed to find out the level of physical activity. In addition, somatic measurements, which are integral to the Unifittest (6-60), were utilized to discover the amount of subcutaneous fat. Results: 32% of children showed average results in the complex physical fitness due to test standard. The same percentage of children (34%) was above and below the average standard as well. 79% of children presented imbalanced performances in particular tests. The best results were seen in sit-up test on the contrary, the worst results were given in endurance shuttle run. The level of subcutaneous fat was above-average at 50% of children,. The load intensity of golfers during the game

Title: The load intensity of golfers during the game Objectives: The aim of this work is to analyze the load intensity of golfers during practice and competition rounds. Methods: The theoretical part was compiled by searching specialized literature. It is a multiple case study, where the load was evaluated on the basis of heart rate, distance, and time using Garmin GPS. The maximum heart rate was determined by laboratory testing and subsequently determined the effort load. Results: Golf in conjunction with walking, which has minimal effects on the musculoskeletal system, could effectively influence the health and fitness. During one round of golf a player walked an average of 10.33 km with an average heart rate 115 beats per minute, corresponding to 59% of maximum heart rate. This intensity develops basic endurance and aerobic capacity. Each round lasted at least 3,5 h and the player burned an average of 1419 kcal. Title: Case study of the training process of couples performing Latin American dances. Objectives: The main objective of this paper is the creation of case studies aimed at developing the sports career of Latin American dance couples. Another objective is to create a training plan for the next dance season based on the information gathered. Methods: The paper used content analysis and critical analysis of expert literature. The research was carried out through case studies, interviews and testing. The research sample consisted of adult Latin American dance couples. The results are presented via text, illustrative graphs and tables. Results: It was found that nowadays the performance of dance couples is most affected by their mental state at individual competitions. Depending on the current level of dancers it is necessary to focus primarily on building up psychological resilience for the next dance season. Another focus point of the preparation will be on practicing expressing the character and experience of the individual dances. Relationship between aerobic endurance and static strength of elderly female athletes to selected anthropometric parameters

Title: Relation between aerobic endurance and static strength of elderly female athletes to selected anthropometric parameters. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to analyse an aerobic endurance, tested by 2 km walk test and static strength tested by prone bridge maneuver and to investigate any existing association to selected anthropometric parameters. These tests were undertaken by elderly female athletes studying U3A at the UK FTVS. Methods: 48 elderly female athletes (age 66,1±2,35, body height 1,67±0,064cm, body weight 69,80±10,42kg, waist circumference 88,82±10,64cm, body mass index (BMI) 25,10±3,62), studying U3V of UK FTVS at the time of taking the part in the research. The original sample of elderly athletes accounted for 86, but elderly athletes over age of 70 and athletes under heart - rate medication were excluded. Male athletes were also excluded for greater group compatibility. Measurement of aerobic endurance was realized by a 2 km walk test at the athletic stadium of UK FTVS according to Mr. Stejskal. Title: Longitudinal monitoring of anthropometric and physiologic characteristic of the elite sport climber. Work objective: The work objective is monitoring and analyzing of general and the specific physical fitness factors by the world knowing climbers from the longtime aspect. Method: In the process of the longtime monitoring was used the laboratory and the field measuring and testing to reach of the determined objectives. The particular factors of the physical fitness where determined according to aerobic fitness tests (step test to "vita maxima"), power condition tests (handgrip dynamometry, bent arm hang, etc), flexibility test and kinesiology study. To complement, understanding and interpretation of some results were used questionnaire with the opened questions. Results: The elite climber (body mass has been increased from 59,3 kg - age 16,8 years to 62,0 kg - age 19.0 years, body height has been increased from 181,9 cm to 183,4 cm., body fat from 5,3 % to 6,7 %). Functional Profile of Performance Billiard Players

Title: Functional Profile of Performance Billiard Players Objectives: The main aim of thesis was to find out maximal functional characteristics and body composition of performance billiard players by using laboratory testing. Next step was to define load intensity during simulated match. Methods: There were used biomedical measurements as a body measuring, bioelectrical impedance, laboratory spiroergometric measuring by maximal stress testing. Field spiroergometric measuring was provide during simulated match in pool hall. To find the role of physical fitness in performance billiard were used half structured interview with open questions and online survey. Results: The findings show that tested billiard players achieve levels of physical fitness from average to very good values. But some of them are classified as overweight and obese. Long-time playing billiard does not have any important influence on asymetric composition of muscle mass of upper limbs. During playing billiard an oxygen consumption didn't get over 30% of VO2max and values of heart rate were between 39 to 59% HRmax. During playing billiard an energy expenditure grows from 222 to 330% of BM. Billiard energetic demands of tested players are moving between 14,6 kJ to 29,3 kJ.
