Physical fitness of children in elementary school - comparison of physical fitness of 5th and 6th grade students with a view to the results of national testing
Drábek, Lukáš ; Suchý, Jiří (advisor) ; Bunc, Václav (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the physical fitness of children in elementary school. The aim of this work is to determine the level of physical fitness of children in the 5th and 6th grade of elementary school and to compare the results with national testing. The UNIFITTEST 6- 60 test battery was used in the research investigation, which evaluates the achieved level of movement skills in four motor tests, which were also carried out during national testing. The first part of the research is an introductory measurement (pretest), in which the pupils of both classes are measured using four motor tests - a long jump from a standing position, a sit- down repeatedly, an endurance shuttle run and a 4x10 meter shuttle run. Within the measured period, the tested sample (5th grade) is lead for eight weeks to improve the given movement skills. In the final measurement (posttest), motor tests are performed with both groups and the change compared to the pretest is monitored. At the end, the achieved results of the 5th and 6th grades are compared with the outlook for the results of the national testing of the 7th grades. The research results are mentioned at the end of the practical part of the thesis. From the results, we can observe the continuing trend of reduced physical fitness of children and a large...

Šula, Marek ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Větrovský, Tomáš (referee)
Title: The relationship between physical fitness and selected tests of cognitive functions in pupils of elementary schools Objectives: The main aim of the thesis was to estimate the relationship between physical fitness and cognitive abilities among pupils of elementary schools Methods: The thesis was carried out as a cross-sectional study. Pupils aged 8 to 12 years (n = 66; age 9.8 ± 0.8) participated in the study. The cognitive abilities were determined using standardized online tests on the portal www.proskoly.cz, and the physical fitness levels was determined using the test battery Unifittest (6-60) Results: The girls did not differ from the boys in any of the tests. In the overall group, the relationships between cognitive abilities and physical fitness were very weak and statistically not significant. However, in girls, we found indirectly proportional statistically significant (p <0.05) relationships between the Visual Memory test and all the physical fitness tests as well as between the Perception test and Standing Long Jump test, Shuttle Run Agility test, Endurance test, and overall Unifittest (6-60) score. No statistically significant relationship was found in the boys; however, the correlation indicated that the relationships were directly proportional Key words: cognitive abilities,...
Functional fitness and Vit. D levels in patients with hepatopathy
Brtková, Helena ; Novák, František (advisor) ; Meisnerová, Eva (referee)
Introduction: patients with hepatopathy are at risk of vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D levels affect, among other things, metabolism and physiological functions of muscle tissue and thus functional fitness. The aim of this study is to assess muscle mass and strength in relation to vitamin D levels and other factors that affect functional physical fitness in patients with cirrhosis, compared to a control group of patients without hepatopathy and other chronic comorbidities. Methods: 11 patients with liver cirrhosis were enrolled in an observational cohort study compared with 11 controls without chronic comorbidities. Anthropometric and bioimpedance measurements were performed, functional tests, the 6MWT 6-minute walk test, hand grip strength assessment and calorimetry examination were also evaluated, and laboratory parameters were assessed. Study participants completed the CLDQ test, which assessed the quality of life of people with liver disease. Respondents answered questions regarding lifestyle, eating habits, physical activity and functional physical fitness. For patients with cirrhosis, the Child Pugh score and MELD score were used to assess the progression of cirrhosis. Results. At the time of the study, the vast majority of patients had a compensated form of liver cirrhosis, Child Pugh A...

Soucha, Filip ; Kokštejn, Jakub (advisor) ; Musálek, Martin (referee)
Title: The Level of Physical Activity and Physical Fitness at Elementary School-Age Children Author: Bc. Filip Soucha Thesis supervizor: Mgr. Jakub Kokštejn, Ph.D. Objectives: To determine and compare the level of physical activity, physical fitness and the amount of subcutaneous fat at younger school children. Furthermore, the next goal is to find out the correlation between them. Methods: The research group consists of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade pupils (n=77). The Unifittest (6-60) was applied to deduce the level of physical fitness, the TGMD- 2 test was employed to find out the level of physical activity. In addition, somatic measurements, which are integral to the Unifittest (6-60), were utilized to discover the amount of subcutaneous fat. Results: 32% of children showed average results in the complex physical fitness due to test standard. The same percentage of children (34%) was above and below the average standard as well. 79% of children presented imbalanced performances in particular tests. The best results were seen in sit-up test on the contrary, the worst results were given in endurance shuttle run. The level of subcutaneous fat was above-average at 50% of children,. The results of physical activity level uncovered the below-average performances at the research group -70% of the children....
The load intensity of golfers during the game
Kunčická, Zlata ; Gryc, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bunc, Václav (referee)
Title: The load intensity of golfers during the game Objectives: The aim of this work is to analyze the load intensity of golfers during practice and competition rounds. Methods: The theoretical part was compiled by searching specialized literature. It is a multiple case study, where the load was evaluated on the basis of heart rate, distance, and time using Garmin GPS. The maximum heart rate was determined by laboratory testing and subsequently determined the effort load. Results: Golf in conjunction with walking, which has minimal effects on the musculoskeletal system, could effectively influence the health and fitness. During one round of golf a player walked an average of 10.33 km with an average heart rate 115 beats per minute, corresponding to 59% of maximum heart rate. This intensity develops basic endurance and aerobic capacity. Each round lasted at least 3,5 h and the player burned an average of 1419 kcal. Keywords: golf, heart rate, load intensity, physical fitness
