Generally in the Czech Republic the principles of the participation are underused during the development and implementation of public policies. A certain change occurs at the local level. In some towns there are gradually promoted models of the participation and representation of the population of excluded localities. This thesis deals by the methods of case study, summative evaluation and observation with implementation of certain local good practice: the system of the caretaking in the town Kadaň - Prunéřov, which primarily addresses the issue of housing in the socially excluded locality, but with the full participation of its people, including the creation of a natural representation, leading to the improvement of social skills of people, their self-confidence and willingness to engage in solving their unsatisfactory situation. The thesis also summarizes the development in the formation of Roma representation at the highest level since the 90s of the last century and its adverse impact on the development of real participation of Roma in social inclusion at all levels of administration. Švec, Jakub ; Klusáček, Jan (advisor) ; Drhová, Zuzana (referee)
Diploma thesis deals with competencies of local municipalities in social inclusion policy. Social exclusion is a key phenomenon of contemporary policy, and municipalities play an important role in such policy. Though, municipalities often tend to fail in their role. The thesis describes and analyse the competencies of local governments and tries to set up and ideal local inclusion policy: a complete set of possible measures that a municipality can use in dealing with social inclusion. This ideal is further on used in two case studies: formative evaluation of local policies in two small towns in South Bohemia. The result is interpreted in perspective of social construction of target groups theory, explaining why do or do not municipalities use concrete inclusive measures. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Gonsiorová, Olga ; Cirklová, Jitka (advisor) ; Tuček, Milan (referee)
In the thesis the author is focused on identity construction of long-term employed Roma in Litvínov city. She proceeds from an assumption, supported by several research, that Roma are vastly stigmatized in Litvínov city. One of the most widespread stigmas is probably persuasion of not working Roma. Long-term employed Roma are defying this prejudice to some extent. In spite of this, because of their visible ethnical apperance they are still put into stigmatized ethnic group. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the author concentrates on introducing theoretical concepts of identity construction to the reader. She also familiarize the reader with Roma minority living in Czech Republic. In the practical part, she introduces her own research, based on six half- structured interviews with long-term employed Roma living in Litvínov. Based on collected data she comes to conclusion and answers her research questions.

Severová, Petra ; Vrzáček, Petr (advisor) ; Havrdová, Zuzana (referee)
The Diploma thesis focuses on the issues of social exclusion and people threatened by social exclusion phenomenon. In the thesis I address the process of social inclusion, which is related to socially excluded localities based on particular characteristics and local problems. A separate chapter is devoted to the method of community work that is focused on the effective response to the needs of socially excluded people. Furthermore I emphasize the work of the Agency for Social Inclusion, a major instrument of the Government of the Czech Republic, providing support to municipalities in the process of social integration. The relationship of the majority towards the socially excluded is also discussed within the thesis. Many studies consider the municipality and its government to represent the key role in the process of social inclusion of people endangered by social exclusion. However in the reality there are big differences among the municipalities with regard to the operation and support of socially excluded people. Social departments of some municipalities are acting proactively, others are not. The main difference lies in the self-government approach. Therefore I decided to focus my Diploma thesis research on this particular issue. The aim of the thesis is to describe the attitudes of the members...
