Interpersonal relationship and spiritual growth

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to investigate the connection between de- veloping relationships with other people and individual effort on the highest knowledge. Its intention is to examine the form of this connection between social and epistemological (or theological) sphere. Through the analysis of M. Buber's work I and Thou and I. Kant's Critique of Pure Reason and Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals, the thesis attempts to present and clarify what kind of relationships can we adopt towards the world, other people, and spiritual sphere. Within the scope of these relatioships, the thesis wish to emphasise the specificity of interpersonal relationship. Afterwards, on the grounds of this specifity, it should be shown whether there is any spe- cial mutual dependance between interpersonal relationship and the higher knowledge. However, it might be also shown that there is not such depen- dance or even that in striving for higher knowledge and spiritual growth, it is necessary to surrender all finite things including interpersonal relation- ships. Whatever the outcome of this reflection might be, we are still human beings dealing with everyday circumstances of ordinary life. Consequently, we cannot break loose of involvement in interpersonal relationships as we are repeatably forced to return...
Anotated translation: José Luis Díaz: "CIENCIA Y ARTE: LA INTELIGENCIA DE LAS MUSAS"

This bachelor's thesis consists of two main parts. The first part is constituted by the translation from Spanish to Czech of the selected essays written by the Mexican author José Luis Díaz and published in his book El ábaco, la lira y la rosa: las regiones del conocimiento, specifically in the sixth chapter named CIENCIA Y ARTE: LA INTELIGENCIA DE LAS MUSAS. The second part consists of the translation annotation, which is comprised of the translation analysis of the source text, the characterisation of the applied translation procedures, and the description of the specific problems arisen during the translation process, including the explanation of the chosen solutions. Human being by Ibn Rushd and Maimonides

This thesis interprets the concept of human being in the work of Maimonides and ibn Rushd, two representatives of major Arab and Jewish medieval philosophy. It combines the ancient Greek philosophical tradition, especially Aristotle, with a religious context. When Maimonides and Ibn Rushd tried to harmonize these two traditions, they had to deal with many opposite views, that stemmed from the difference between religious and ancient world. Behind this intellectual ground have they created the original thesis and approaches to grasping reality, the world and the human being in it. The issue of human being is analyzed in three levels. The first level consists of the relationship between human being and creation, which addresses the question about origin of the world the human soul and the resurrection. The second level, i.e. the man and the world, is devoted to describing a scheme of the world, human knowledge and the theory of prophecy. Ethical and political views are analyzed on the third level, which represents the position of human being in relation to the polis. Masaryk and Philosophy

The topic of the present thesis is the philosophy of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. The main aim of the theses is to create a complete and lucid progress of Masaryk's thinking considering the main influence on Masaryk as a philisopher. The thesis examines what and who influenced Masaryk the most and which individual experience formed his global philosophy. The thesis proceeds chronologically and copies Masaryk's life. It describes his pesonal development influenced by the work of other authors and philosophers and also by examining the answers of newly risen questions. The individual traces in his thinking, however, are not strictly isolated. The theses is thus trying to find the intersection of different influences. The issues are mostly identical. Nevertheless, Masaryk's attitude towards them develops and changes. Every influence on Masaryk and his reflection would make a thesis itself, therefore we remain at the basic philosophical points. The theses examines three areas - the first is Masaryk's source, meaning the inspiring author. Second is Masaryk's interpretation and understanding. This graduation thesis deals with the interpretation of the nature of word and name found in the works of P. Florensky (1882-1937), the Russian philosopher, scientist and poet. The question of word, name and symbol was crucial for P.Florensky and all his works as well as for other important authors of the so called Russian religious and philosophical Renaissance, especially for V. F. Ern, S. N. Bulgakov and A. F. Losev. According to Florensky real cognition can only be achieved by means of word and symbol. To this issue Florensky also linked the question of correlation between a word and a thing, a man and a word, sacral terminology/denomination etc. Thus focus on the nature of word is vital for understanding P.Florensky's philosophy. The goal of this thesis is to outline the basic features of philosophic and theological understanding of name and word in Pavel Florensky's works, and also to define his cognition theory which is based on this way of thinking.
Language, speech and understanding

This thesis studies different conceptions of knowledge as they were conceived by George Berkeley and Immanuel Kant. In the first chapter we concentrate on Berkeley's pragmatic interpretation of knowledge which is based on the localization of the non-predicative judgements into the inner structure of perception. As the result there is such knowledge which is by human being used to identification of conditions for the formation of particular combinations of ideas and also to their more or less exact prognosis. We concentrate also on Berkeley's attempt to avoid "ontological" or "absolute" interpretations of "traditional concepts of metaphysics" as ,substance', an absolute existence of non-egoistic matterial being etc. In the second chapter of this thesis we are trying to study in which way is the idea of knowledge being transformed, in case that the starting point for interpretation of knowledge is, according to Kant, descriptive analysis of synthetic judgements a priori, whose proposition is the synthesis of subject and predicate. We will show that Kant contributed to the new understanding of metaphysics as transcendental research possibility of knowledge, and how were thanks to that meanings and status of subject and object transformed. Truth and theatre

The topic of this bachelor thesis Truth and Theatre is the study of the truth by connecting the concepts of the phenomenologist Jan Patočka and the theatre director and researcher Jerzy Grotowski. The objective of this thesis is to capture the factual connection between these two concepts. This work reveals how the topic of the truth tied with the ancient abstract meaning of aletheia - "unconcealedness" is being manifested in the theatre, how it is related to the themes of myth, ritual, situation, corporality, education and why is this understanding of truth inseparable from the action, self-awareness and the moral. The aim of this work is also to map the philosophical basis for the master's thesis, which will be created at the Department of Drama in Education on DAMU. Human in the light of science

The paper thematizes the concept of science in mid- and late thinking of Friedrich Nietzsche in the context of his understanding of scientific cognition of both: human and its world. The study introduces the problem of science and cognition in general in connection with significant motives of Nietzsche's thinking: morality, the revaluation of all values, thinking and living "beyond good and evil", freedom, human body, the superhuman motive, ascetic ideals, and more. Emphasis is put on the problem of veracity in the context of Nietzsche's attitude to idealism. Constructivism and Reality between Foerster, Maturana and Kuhn

This work deals with the introduction of the constructivist school of thought and its comparison with the theory of scientific revolutions and the concept of the paradigm of Thomas Kuhn. In this work, constructivism is represented by radical interpretations of Foerster, Maturana and Varela. These are then confronted with Kuhn's interpretation of scientific revolutions. At the end of the thesis I argue that Kuhn's concept of the paradigm can be interpreted as typically constructivist. In the context of the main line of interpretation of this work, I also critically evaluate motives such as reality, the possibility of true knowledge and related ethical consequences.
