MŇUKOVÁ, Viktorie
The aim of the bachelor's thesis will be to capture the view of students of the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia on the phenomenon of refugees. The author will try to compare the opinions captured in her survey with that of the Czech public, as we become familiar with it through relevant public opinion surveys captured by sociologists. In her work, the author will justify the methods she chooses for her survey and specify what her selection of respondents will be. At the beginning of the thesis, author will introduce us in general to the issue of migration, especially with an emphasis on migration to the Countries of the European Union. The author will introduce us to the terms she will use, such as shelter, economic migration and will bring the numbers of people migrating to Europe and from which source countries, areas they come from. In particular, it will accentuate the geographical view of migration and the percepci of the countries where the migrants come from relative to the students whose views they will subsequently find out. The source countries where the migrants come from will then be linked by the author to the perceptic and reality of security threats to the EU.
The use of 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade in migration crisis as part of national border protection
KURŠ, Ondřej
The threat level of a migration crisis is high. Recently, we have been able to observe the situation on the border between Turkey and Greece. It is extremely tense and might trigger the same kind of migration crisis as in 2015. This dissertation investigates a potential migration crisis threat posed to the Czech Republic, its focus point being the section of national border between the Czech and Austrian Republics in the area of Dolní Dvořiště. This section is analysed and compared in two time periods: border security in the years 1979-1989 and after the conclusion of Schengen Treaty, as provided by a battalion of 15th Border Guard Brigade and a unit of 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade, respectively. The aim is to identify possible ways of securing the national border and preventing its crossing in two independent time periods.

Abstract This bachelor's work examines the concept of political correctness, a phenomenon that draws lots of debate and criticism in our era, both in the Czech Republic and in the USA where the notion was born. The work is largely theoretical and seeks an answer to the question of how political correctness influences modern- day society and what effects it has on social work and the political situation in the Czech Republic. The work explores the scope of the concept political correctness, how it came up, its development and categorization. Further the work looks at political correctness and its influence on ethics and religion. Another part of the work looks at social work, its significance and paradigms. It relates social work to social politics, and its significance in the Czech Republic and the European Union. In addition, the author looks at the relationships between social work and political correctness. In the last part, the work briefly looks at the immigration crisis and its influence on political deliberations in the Czech Republic. The aim of the work is to acquire an objective outlook at the significance of political correctness and awareness of the effect of the application of political correctness on everyday life of individuals and society - it is well known that inadequate information leads to a skewed perception among voters.

Fikejzl, Jakub ; Lizcová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Handl, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis deals with the issue of inter-party conflicts between the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU) and their perception in the German public. Both parties are conservative popular parties based on Christian values. Through the method of an interpretive case study, the thesis analyses the period in which conflicts between the parties peaked. It concerns Horst Seehofer's relationship with Angela Merkel and their opposing views on migration policy and the situation during the power struggle in the Union between Markus Söder and Armin Laschet. The timeframe of the thesis is the entire 19th parliamentary term, which lasted between 2017 and 2021. Using opinion polls and articles, or media accounts, the thesis analyses the rise or fall of public interest in these parties and the social discourse associated with these disputes.
Swedish integration policy and refugee integration
Abdallah, Jakub ; Lukešová, Anna (advisor) ; Svobodný, Petr (referee)
The topic of Swedish integration policy and integration of refugees deals with the current Swedish integration policy with a focus on refugees (asylum seekers). The thesis puts integration policies into the context of the refugee crisis 2015, which was an unprecedented period for Sweden due to the record number of asylum seekers. The thesis also analyses the development of Swedish integration policy in the time frame from the late 1990s to the refugee crisis 2015. Another aim of the thesis is to find out if there were changes in Sweden's integration policies as a result of the refugee crisis. The thesis also partially includes an analysis of asylum policies that are linked to integration policies. The fundamental question is what integration methods Sweden has chosen in the case of refugees and how they have been implemented.
Relationship of the Czech Catholic Community to the European Union
Hobzík, Mikuláš ; Mlejnek, Josef (advisor) ; Salamon, Janusz (referee)
The bachelor thesis builds on the academic debate on the relationship between religion and politics and explores the hitherto unexplored attitude of the Czech Catholic milieu towards the European Union, through the prism of views on EU migration policy. Using the method of media discourse analysis, the attitudes of seven prominent figures in the Czech Catholic milieu and their positions on the issue of migration and the related EU response are examined during the migration crisis between 2015 and 2017. The analysed attitudes are categorised as belonging to the established attitudes concerning European integration - Euroscepticism and Euro-optimism. The results show a balanced representation of both trends, with a slight predominance of Euroscepticism. The Czech Catholic milieu thus reflected the divisions within Czech society on several issues related to the EU and migration. Therefore, the religious beliefs of the Catholics surveyed do not represent a unifying factor in political views on the EU and the Czech Catholic environment does not form a coherent ideological stream Keywords The Catholic church; European union; migration crisis; refugees; Czech Catholic milieu
Normality of the exception? Crisis Governance in reforming the Asylum and Migration Policy of the European Union
Kaleta, Ondřej ; Střítecký, Vít (advisor) ; Braun, Mats Rickard (referee) ; Lupták, Ľubomír (referee)
This doctoral thesis examines the issue of crisis governance of the European Union in the context of migration developments after 2015. The author investigates how relevant EU institutions (European Commission, Council of the EU, and European Council) construct exceptionality within the common asylum and migration policy and what might be its impacts on the functionality of this policy. Theoretically, the research is based on the concept of "state of exception" originally introduced in the works of Carl Schmitt and Giorgio Agamben. The main objective of the thesis is to analyze and interpret the extraordinary migration measures from 2015 to 2018, which were proposed and implemented by the EU political actors to address the migration situation. The institutional level is further broadened and contextualized by including three EU Member State governments - Hungary, Austria, and Germany - and their involvement in the interactive shaping of emergency policies. The author studies how the exception is constructed in the EU official discourse, the relationship between exception and normality, and the exercise of power to create a state of exception at supranational/intergovernmental level of the EU as an international organization. The thesis approaches the topic using critical discourse analysis. It...
The EU and Turkey in the context of the migration crisis 2015-2016
Urban, Tomáš ; Aslan, Emil (advisor) ; Najšlová, Lucia (referee)
The EU-Turkey relations have been accompanied by the complicated accession process with the aim of integrating Turkey into the EU for several decades. The development of this process has been influenced by internal factors at both sides, as well as by external circumstances. Since 2011, due to the Middle East crisis, Turkey has begun to struggle with a growing number of arriving migrants with a major influx between 2013 and 2015. The wave of incoming migrants hit also the EU in the summer of 2015. This paper examines the impact of one of the strongest migration waves since World War II on the EU-Turkey relations. First is analyzed the migration crisis including its consequences for the EU and Turkey. Second is analyzed, how they responded to the crisis individually so that the research could focus on the cooperation of both sides from autumn 2015 to spring 2016. The paper discovers that the impacts of the migration crisis on the EU and Turkey were so significant that neither side was able to handle the difficult situation on its own. Thus, because of the characteristics of the migration wave, a unique window of opportunity opened for revival of the mutual relations. This revival occurred in October 2015 and up until the EU-Turkey refugee deal of March 2016, the EU-Turkey cooperation could be...
