Delay Differential Equations in Dynamic Systems
Affecting the level of music movement abilities with new music movement program for pupils of secondary school
Doležalová, Kateřina ; Novotná, Viléma (advisor) ; Blahutková, Marie (referee) ; Pelclová, Jana (referee)
Title: Influencing the level of musical-movements abilities with a new programme of musical-movement education in girls on the secondary school. Objectives: The aim of the work is to verify how the newly created programme of musical- movement education affects the level of selected musical and locomotory abilities of the pupils groups, aged 12-16 years. The partial goal is to assemble the intervention program of the modernized musical-movement education, fulfilling the current needs of girls of the given age and to create methodological materials for his teaching. Methods: To verify the level of musical-movements skills, all groups used a battery of musically-movements tests: rhythmic adaptability test, rhythmic perception test, dynamic equilibrium test, collective movement creativity test (Brtníková, 2009) and distinguishing the pitch of tone in the Bentley's test. For data analysis, the following tests were used: Shapiro-Wilk's test, Levene's test, Wilcoxon test, paired T-Test, Mann-Whitney U-Test. Intergroup differences were evaluated by the single-way and two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) in the statistical program R. Statistical relevancy and effect size has been done in the STATISTICA programme. Graphical representation through the boxplot and Q- Q chart. Results: The measured results of...
Stabilization methods for unstable solutions of the discrete logistic equation

What is the equilibrium exchange rate of the Czech koruna?
Jančovič, Pavel ; Baxa, Jaromír (advisor) ; Semerák, Vilém (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to estimate bilateral equilibrium exchange rate of the Czech koruna relative to Euro and to determine if the Czech currency is undervalued or overvalued relative to the market equilibrium. We employ fundamental (FEER) and behavioral (BEER) equilibrium exchange rate models, which enables to measure the currency position relative to the market rate. To tackle the uncertainty of the implied equilibrium exchange rates that differ among alternative specifications of the models, we aggregate the estimates via principal components analysis. The perception on the market is that Czech koruna is undervalued, since the intervention regime imposed by the Czech National Bank in the 2013, was defending the exchange rate floor of 27 Czech korunas to Euro. Then, we extend conventional specifications of BEER models for variables representing exchange rate interventions and forward rates offered on the market because both can have protracted effects not only on spot rates but on adjustment towards long-term equilibrium as well. The original models with fundamental factors show equilibrium exchange rate near to 25 CZK/EUR. However, extended models with interventions show higher equilibrium exchange rate, near to 27 CZK/EUR. Thus, there is possibility of slow adjustment near to the...
Stochastic modelling of epidemics
Drašnar, Jan ; Staněk, Jakub (advisor) ; Hlubinka, Daniel (referee)
This thesis uses a simple deterministic model represented by an ordinary di- fferential equation with two equilibrium points - depending on the initial state the illness either vanishes or persists forever. This model is expanded by adding some diffusion coefficients leading to different stochastic differential equations. They are analyzed to show how the choice of diffusion coefficients changes be- havior of the model in proximity of its equilibria and near the boundary of area with biological meaning. The theoretical results are than illustrated by computer simulations. 1
Postural stabilization and balance - theoretical background and definitions (literature review)
Uhlíková, Jana ; Rašev, Eugen (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Title: Postural stabilization and balance - theoretical background and definitions (literature review) Objectives: The aim of this theses is to investigate the present situation of theoretical background of postural stabilization and balance and find out the differences between both of these phenomenons. The theses should summarize the current literature including the newest studies. Furthermore, it discusses the most used computerized measurements methods for assessing balance and postural control. Methods: The theses has character of literature review. It is divided into several parts. The beginning introduces the theoretical background. The descriptive and analytical chapter discuss the most used computerized measurement methods for assessing balance and postural control. The discussion summarizes the current situation and results of the theses. Results: The total amount of the 104 studies was found, but only 12 of them met the criteria of the theses. Currently the most used methods for assessing balance and postural control are the computerized dynamic posturography and the visual feedback posturography. In the published studies there were found several differences in the methods of posturography. Even, there was revealed ideological diversity in the authors' opinions and disunity in...
The influence of alpine skiing on balance
Volejníková, Nikola ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Novotná, Irena (referee)
Title: The influence of alpine skiing on balance Author: Nikola Volejníková Objective: The aim of this work was to study the available literature, to characterize alpine skiing from its inception through biomechanics and physiological demands for skiers to characteristics of the individual disciplines. At the same time characterize motor skills in whole and focus on the main reference factor: the balance ability. The main objective of this work was to perform an experiment on two groups: experimental and control group. The aim of the experiment was to test the influence of alpine skiing on the balance and if there is the potentiality to improve the results of balance tests by only one week of intense skiing. The results of the experimental group were compared with the control group. Method: Measurement was carried out using the GymTop USB and one test for measuring static equilibrium. The main group consisted of 10 subjects selected from the participants of the ski-instructor course APUL "C" and measurement took place in two phases - before the course and after a week of intense duration of the course. An important criterion for the selection of subjects was their good health with no on-going acute musculoskeletal diseases. Only one year younger injuries were the reason for non-inclusion in the...
Mythic structures and religious motives in the universe of StarCraft computer game series.
Michalič, Robert ; Kostičová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Petříček, Miroslav (referee)
The goal of this work is to provide the reader with an interpretation of races, factions and storyline of the Starcraft game series universe from the perspective of religious studies and to set its results into context of modern spiritual beliefs collectively called New Age. First part of the work analyzes narrative elements which are found in races and factions of Starcraft univerze and reaches the conclusion that through them the game operates with religiously relevant classification categories of purity and dirtiness, order and chaos. The second part utilizes these results in an analysis of narrative structures understood as relations and interactions between particular races and factions, and shows that categories of order and chaos/purity and dirtiness are functionally analogous to Victor Turner's categories of structure and anti-structure. Conclusion of this analysis claims that Starcraft thematizes the problem of one's oppozite's prevalence over the other. The third part summarizes conclusions of both previous parts, gives examples of order/chaos relations in historical religions and shows how narrative structures present these beliefs as problematic. Subsequently this work points out the identical beliefs celebrating the balance between opposites found in New Age, tries to explain the...
