The scenic realizations and adaptations of Strakonický Dudák by J. K. Tyl (1918-2017).
LAFATOVÁ, Alžběta
The diploma thesis concerns 1918-2017 stagings and adaptations of Strakonický dudák. We continue in the bachelor´s thesis Character of a bagpiper in 19th century Czech literature, a comparison with Pitinský's 2013 staging of Strakonický dudák. The aim of the diploma thesis is to show the changes in the attitude towards Tyl´s drama Strakonický dudák (1847) during the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. On the basis of the interpretation of Tyl´s text we analyse chosen adaptations and stagings and we compare the main topics with Tyl´s version. In the first part we are concerned with interpretation of film adaptations of Tyl´s drama from 1937 to 1955. We examine different approaches to the theme and the way it is affected by socio-political situation. In the second part we deal with theatre stagings of Strakonický dudák. First, we deal with the position of theatre since the 1950s and with the demands on the adaptation on Tyl´s play. By means of interpretation of 1980-2006 stagings of Strakonický dudák we follow the shift from the adaptation based on Zdeněk Nejedlý´s thoughts to distinctive and original adaptations which offer current topics
Public Transport Timetables
Riedel, Lukáš ; Zavoral, Filip (advisor) ; Holan, Tomáš (referee)
It is in the interest of people using public transport to get to the desired location as quickly as possible. That is the reason they use search engines to search journeys. Most existing search engines are limited to a predetermined area or can only be used with a permanent internet connection, which may limit the user. For this reason, we have designed a customizable application system that allows the user, under certain conditions, to search without the need for an Internet connection. In the thesis we analyse mainly with the ways of finding journeys in timetables. Our solution uses an innovative algorithm that, with its operation and time required to execute a request, deviates significantly from most existing solutions. For the convenience of the user, we have developed a desktop and mobile application that provides the user user-friendly interface that can be used to search timetables and display current traffic information. 1

Šrámková, Kateřina ; Janovec, Ladislav (advisor) ; Holanová, Radka (referee)
The paper is titled: Phraseology updates in the contemporary Czech language The aim of this paper is to collect and describe phraseological updates. The collection of materials (resources) took place from January 2013 to June 2015. Updates were sought out from various sources - the media, books, the theater, the internet and landline calls. With the help of professional literature we first limited the theoretical framework of the issue and based on these theoretical attainments we classified the material according to the sources and types of resources from which it originated. In the summary of updates we can see for every idiom update its original version, its type of update, its specific description and its source with a comment specifying its occurrence etc. With the performed analysis we determined that the most common kinds of updates are contamination and lexical updates.
On the Presupposition Projection in Czech
Veselý, Vojtěch ; Macurová, Alena (advisor) ; Hajičová, Eva (referee) ; Bílková, Jana (referee)
On the Presupposition Projection in Czech I understand presupposition as both an implication and a set of requirements which have to be fulfilled by the (passive) context, i.e. a set of realized propositions and logico- semantic relations between them shared by the communicants. The content of presupposition is formed by information which the speaker characterizes as predetermined, i.e. known to the communicants. Presupposition is a semantically narrower notion than implication: every meaning expressed indirectly is implied, but not every implied meaning is presupposed. Contextually bound constituents express a proposition which is included in the active context, i.e. a set of propositions on which the communicants are actively focused. Contextual boundness is a type of presupposition trigger: information included in the active context is a necessary part of the passive context (it doesn't hold true vice versa, of course). Context shared by the communicants can not be incremented by the primary (i.e. directly expressed) proposition of a clause, unless all the presuppositions semantically entailed in the primary proposition are satisfied. Presupposition is satisfied if and only if proposition p which forms a content of the presupposition is part of the (passive) context. In case that the context...

Valčíková, Tereza ; Mareš, Petr (advisor) ; Vaňková, Irena (referee)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the non-marked and marked expressions of the titles in today's serious and tabloid press. It classifies composition of the newspaper titles, describes procedures used for informing and convincing the recipients and, on the basis of gained knowledge, establishes differences between the headlines in serious and tabloid press in particularly in terms of non-marked and marked expressions. To analyze the observed phenomena and to compare mutual qualities, a title corpus consisting of two Czech journals: Lidové noviny newspaper representing reputable printing and Blesk representing the tabloids was created. Selected journals were observed for two years (April 2012 - April 2014) and 300 titles in total were collected to the corpus.
Language management in the process of reception of literary texts from the perspective of a native and a non-native speaker of the Czech language
Reuter, Magdalena Antonia ; Nekvapil, Jiří (advisor) ; Sherman, Tamah (referee)
This diploma thesis explores the possibility of mapping the reception of a literary text in terms of language management processes and in succession unveils the main differences in the perception of a literary text by a native opposed to a non-native speaker. The first three chapters treat the research methodology, which is based on Language Management Theory, Neustupný's approach to literary criticism through this concrete theory and single elements from formalism and structuralism. The research, which is described in chapters four to seven, focuses on the different moments of noting, evaluation and problem solving strategies realised by two readers of a modern Czech short story (one native and one non-native speaker). These processes are identified and analysed by the means of follow-up interviews. The aim of the thesis is to establish a complex methodology of identifying, describing and interpreting management processes which occur during the reception of a literary text and further to investigate the main characteristics that distinguish this process in the case of a native and a non-native recipient of the text.
