Design of entrance ramp for handicapped people to city buses
Pospíšil, Luděk ; Maňas, Pavel (referee) ; Dvořáček, Jiří (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with the design of the automatically controlled ramp for the boarding of physically disabled people in city buses. The initial research section deals with the regulations and directives that must be respected in the design, the issue of wheelchair mobility and the analysis of design considered elements. In the second part the thesis goes to the chosen design solution. The design input parameters are the height of the ramp cassette, the slope of the ramp when boarding and the width of the boarding platform. The platform is extended by a pair of pneumatic cylinders along with a scissor mechanism guided in a linear ball guide. The boarding platform is made of an aluminium honeycomb panel which strength is verified by analytical calculation. At the front edge, the boarding platform is equipped with a pressure-sensitive edge The ramp cassette is made up of a welded frame of steel profiles and subjected to stress strain analysis. The thesis is accompanied by complete drawing documentation.

Title: Comparison of shooting efficiency among wheelchair basketball players with respect to their point classification Objective: To compare basketball shooting efficiency of wheelchair players according to their point classification. To compile brief history of wheelchair basketball in Czech Republic till January 2018 and to frame basketball shooting technique theory of wheelchair players. Methods: Structured observation, recording and comparison were basic methods of this research. Correlative - predictive approach was used. Each wheelchair player went step by step through this research having done together 30 shooting attemps consisting of 3- shot sets from 10 different spots. One player shooting record together with limbering up took approximately 20 minutes. To verify gained results additional data collection was done for all players in period of 4 weeks. Pilot research for diploma thesis was the part of this bachelor thesis.Video record of basketball match was prepared in order to verify analogic tendencies in game condition. Results: Results of this research are compiled in charts and text version. They are analysed in Discussion chapter. Entry hypothesis for measurment of each separate wheelchair basketball player did not proved. Having all wheelchair basketball players divided into groups...
Living with Disability
Stárková, Jana ; Zelinková, Olga (advisor) ; Krahulcová, Beáta (referee)
In my thesis, The Life of a Handicapped Person, I tried to chart what influences the future of such person and how problems trouble him in life. In the first chapters I defined and separated the types of disabilities, their different impact and problems in diagnosis. The central part of the work is the chapter on systems that influence the life of a disabled person. These systems are mostly influenced by the family because, by accepting the child, the parent, as well as the selected type of upbringing, affects the future of the person and likewise the disabled child has a vital influence on the family. Also included is a chapter on health care, social services and education. The quality of life of a disabled person is also influenced by friends, hence a social process, and partnerships, and equally important is the person's professional role. The fourth chapter relates to research which was carried out by a questionnaire on a group of 46 people with physical disabilities. On the basis of the answers, I verified the validity of the six pre-defined hypotheses.
Performance measuring of individuals with physical handicap
Vít, Ondřej ; Kálal, Jan (advisor) ; Radvanský, Jiří (referee)
The thesis is focused on the measurement of the energy consumption during the locomotion of the mobility disabled (riding a wheelchair a walking with 2 point support - crutch). The probands were handicapped by partial amputation of lower limb based on the vascular cause which represents approximately 90 percent of all amputations done in the Czech Republic. The thesis also presents a brief classification of amputations according to the extent of the separation, the history of amputations and the main etiologic factors leading to amputation. In the result section the measured data are discussed. In the last part of the thesis, the conclusions are discussed and compared to information available from similar studies. How dogs can affect physical aktivity of the people with disability
Neubergová, Kristýna ; Migdauová, Alena (advisor) ; Prajerová, Květa (referee)
Title: A dog's impact on the physical activity of persons with a spinal cord injury using orthopaedic wheelchairs Objective: The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate that having had a spinal cord injury, those owning a dog have more physical activity than persons with the same injury who do not own a dog. A secondary objective was to research whether individuals with a spinal cord injury owning a dog get enough daily physical activity as recommended by the World Health Organization. Methods: Qualitative research method was employed for the purpose of this thesis. The data were collected using a semi-structured interview "PARA-SCI." Physical activity was measured by an accelerometer ActiGraph GT3X+ which every participant received in order to measure his or her physical activity. Each participant's physical activity was measured for three weeks. Then, a subjective measurement of the participants' physical activity was conducted by means of a personal interview PARA-SCI. During the interview, each participant's activity was recorded into the PARA-SCI sheets. Next, objective data from the accelerometers were compared with the subjective data from the semi-structured personal interviews PARA-SCI. The focus group for this research was comprised of individuals having had a spinal cord injury. Results:...

Title: The physical activity of dog-owning persons with a spinal cord injury. Objective: The aim of this thesis is to find out the level of physical activity of persons with a spinal-cord injury who own a dog. This work employs both subjective and objective methods of analysis. A secondary objective is to find out whether dog-owning individuals with a spinal cord injury get enough daily physical activity as recommended by the Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines for Adults with Spinal Injury. Method: The research was conducted using a combined qualitative-quantitative method. The sample comprised of five men aged 29-66 years with spinal cord injury (4 quadriplegic and 1 paraplegic). The physical activity was subjectively measured by a semi-structured interview "PARA-SCI." Objective measurement of the physical activity was conducted using an accelerometer ActiGraph GT3X+. Each participant's physical activity was measured for three three days. Results: The average objective physical activity of the participants was 2166.3 minutes, while the average PARA-SCI result was 1558.8 minutes. The difference between these two results is not statistically significant. The participants fulfilled the levels of physical activity as prescribed by the aforementioned guidelines.
