Urban, Michal ; Gerloch, Aleš (advisor) ; Maršálek, Pavel (referee) ; Večeřa, Miloš (referee)
The presented PhD. thesis deals with effective strategies of forming legal consciousness of upper-secondary school students, and with methods that can be used for developing it. So far, legal scholars have paid only insufficient attention to this topic, even though many law experts have repeatedly pointed out its importance. Moreover, they stress the fact that a more detailed understanding of legal consciousness of citizens and of ways of influencing it can help us better understand how law works within the society. The thesis opens with the theoretical part, which defines the concept of legal consciousness, describes its level captured by the available empirical research and identifies effective strategies, which possess the potential to cultivate legal consciousness of the youth. In the following practical part, the author seeks to verify effectiveness of these strategies by means of student questionnaires, interviews with teachers and observations of their lessons. The theoretical part firstly introduces legal consciousness as the basic concept of the whole thesis. Development of pupils' independence by using the project method
Kretíková, Olga ; Tomková, Anna (advisor) ; Holemá, Irena (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to determine whether it is possible to develop pupils' independence by way of the project method, which is based on my own practical experience. The thesis is divided into two main parts: the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part summarizes and evaluates the knowledge gained by studying the available literature on the topic of pupils' independence and the theme of project method. The conclusion of the theoretical part summarises the bases for the development of the self- reliance via project method. The practical part analyses my previous teaching experiences, like the use of project method in terms of pupils' independence and this analysis is followed up with the practical research, based on a new project which is focused on the development of the pupils' independence in the activating teaching methods that have not been used yet. The part of the appendix includes final pieces of pupils' works from some of the projects described in the practical part, pupils' mind maps from their projects and photo documentation of the newly realised project, which was aimed at developing pupils' independence. In conclusion, I validate, based on my own research, the hypothesis that the targeted use of project method leads to the development of the pupils'...
Strategies for teaching at technical colleges
Novotná, Michaela ; Kasíková, Hana (advisor) ; Strouhal, Martin (referee)
The thesis deals with teaching strategies used at technical universities. In general, teaching strategies used at universities are usually based on experience that teachers acquired during their own studies. University teachers are not qualified teachers in pedagogy, but they are experts in the profession. It follows that only few teachers explore new, more effective strategies that could help to understand complex technical subjects more easily. Considering the fact that this thesis can be classified as both theoretical and empirical, observation and questionnaires were used to get wider insight into teaching strategies. In the Czech republic, only few publications are aimed at the issue of university education, particularly at technical universities. For that reason, the aim of the thesis is to explore and analyse teaching strategies used at technical universities.
