(Sliviaková 2010, p. 3). Occasional procrastination however mostly harmless is only a small step from procrastination chronic. Chronic procrastination already points at undesirable situation, the malfunction of a healthy lifestyle and self-control. That view is the starting point for the research work of the problem, which investigates the symptoms of procrastination among primary and secondary school pupils. Procrastination is usually being considered in relation to adults' behaviour. The question asked is whether it is relevant to consider procrastination also in relation to children at primary school. In the theoretical part, we therefore first gathered and compiled the available data about the topic from various Czech and foreign sources, mainly to define with necessary precision the object of the study (procrastination) and learned the wider context of the issue (time management, self- management). Irrational Behaviour
Vlach, Tomáš ; Koubek, Ivo (advisor) ; Kvaček, Jan (referee)
This thesis questions the notion of rationally behaving individuals as an as- sumption of microeconomic and macroeconomic models. Its goal is to show that foundations on which the modern economics is built are not so much solid. Selected topics are discussed theoretically and subsequently confirmed empir- ically by existing research studies. Afterwards, they are extended by related findings and potential implications for human behaviour. The thesis contains examples of irrational behaviour in which it is possible to behave rationally as well as examples in which it is very difficult to do so. The results imply that irrationality is present in many different domains. Because the assumption of rationality is repeatedly violated, economic models are not able to properly describe and predict human behaviour. Špaček, Martin ; Jirák, Jan (advisor) ; Soukup, Martin (referee)
This master's thesis presents an analysis of the discourse of procrastination in the Czech media, with a special focus on contemporary discourse of work. Procrastination was for long an unknown phenomenon in the Czech Republic, but a few years ago it was possible to notice that it was fast entering people's active vocabularies, and that media articles, indeed whole books, on it were starting to appear. The aim of this thesis is to present, using the example of procrastination, the dynamics of possible forms and transformations of a given media image in selected Czech periodicals between 1.1.1995 and 31.12.2014. The analysis uses the discourse analysis method, as put forward by Norman Fairclough, and for the purposes of interpretation it uses above all critical theories of contemporary work. Subsequently, the work analyses the structure of these texts, postulating the thesis that the discourse of procrastination comprises various structural elements. In the next part, in a discourse analysis of procrastination, these elements are presented using relevant extracts from the texts.
