Changes in diet and physical activity during the COVID age
Lorencová, Marie ; Sládková, Petra (advisor) ; Svěcená, Kateřina (referee)
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the daily routine of everyone in the Czech Republic, even school-age children, whose daily rhythm has been completely changed due to school closures. Children were left without regular exercise at school and in after-school clubs, they were eating irregularly and with a different food composition, and their sleeping patterns shifted. Many children returned to school fat and physically unfit after the government measures ended. For fat children, this change could have a negative impact on their health. The aim of this study was to obtain information on changes in eating and exercise habits of school-aged children before, during and after the lockdown. The information obtained from each period was compared and evaluated. Another aim was to determine whether the observed group of children had gained weight or not due to the changed daily routine during the covid restrictions, and for those who had gained weight, selected values from blood tests taken by a paediatric and adolescent general practitioner were monitored to see whether the values had moved outside the reference limits. By processing the questionnaire responses, I expect to confirm the three suppositions that children worsened their eating habits during the lockdown in both composition and frequency of...

Bartoušková, Veronika ; Syřiště, Ivo (advisor) ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (referee)
This thesis presents the experiences, insights and experiences of participants in online and offline distance education in a selected primary school during the covid-19 pandemic. The thesis focuses on the educational and hidden difficulties of students and teachers in one primary school, coming as a result of the transition of full-time study to distance or irregular hybrid learning, but also focuses on the pedagogical activities of teachers under the influence of online learning. For schools and especially for their teachers in the era of mandated distance education, it was necessary to change their ways of working, to choose methods and forms not used so far, to adapt didactics to the virtual socio-space and to significantly change the existing pedagogical communication, ways of self-reflection and evaluation of students' activities. The aim of the work is to search and record knowledge and information from educational actors about the impact of online distance learning, to analyze and compare these findings and to elaborate an overview of possible learning difficulties and their impact on further education. The empirical part of the thesis presents a qualitative research and description of the experiences of students and teachers in one primary school, as a result of the impact of distance...

VACKOVÁ, Adéla
The theoretical part of the thesis explains the concept of domestic violence, its manifestations, the characteristics of perpetrators and victims, and legal protection within the Czech legislation. This part is important for a better understanding of the whole issue and for better orientation in this area. The work will involve analyzing data obtained from intervention centers in the České Budějovice, which will provide important information about the situation regarding domestic violence during the pandemic. The results of this work will serve to improve understanding of this issue and improve support for victims of domestic violence. It is necessary to ensure that all necessary resources and support are available for domestic violence victims. Life Satisfaction of Czechs over Time – "Research on the Covid and Postcovid Eras"
Hanzlová, Radka
The Centre for Public Opinion Research of the Institute of Sociology of the CAS focused on the topic of life satisfaction in its special research carried out within the project "Research on the Covid and Postcovid Eras". The aim of the research was to find out how satisfied Czech citizens are with their lives at present and to compare the results with their life satisfaction in the past or in the future. The life satisfaction of Czech citizens has not changed over time and can be considered above average overall. Life satisfaction is related to educational attainment, age, subjectively assessed standard of living and health status. Both single-item and multi-item measures of life satisfaction achieve identical results, confirming their reliability and validity.A significant proportion of respondents failed to answer the items related to future life satisfaction, which is easily explained and understandable, as these are essentially hypothetical questions to which there is no clear answer at the moment.

Chaloupková, Valentina ; Krahulcová, Beáta (advisor) ; Drahoňovský, Jan (referee)
In the diploma thesis named " How the Covid-19 pandemic affected the living situation of seniors in a retirement home", first I focus on theoretical terms such as senior, ageing, old age, retirement home, the Covid-19 pandemic, but I also want to point to the topic of the vulnerability of the elderly in a retirement home and the mental health of a person in the old age with regard to the chosen topic of this diploma thesis. Part of my thesis is also qualitative research, which is an inquiry with the help of semi-structured interviews with seniors in a retirement home. With respondents, I focus on four main topics that outline the overall process of their pandemic experience. At the end of this thesis I analyzes the perception of the residence of the clients in a retirement home in Ústí nad Labem during the pandemic from their point of view and this way I bring an insight of experiencing a 2.5-year pandemic in a retirement home thanks to the experiences of individual respondents.

Šmíd, Martin
We generally discuss modeling the present COVID pandemics. We argue that useful models have to be simple in the first case, yet their uncertainty has to be handled properly. In order to study circumstances of the upcoming wave of infection,\nwe construct a simple stochastic model and present predictions it gives. We conclude that the autumn wave is most likely unavoidable and suggest concentrating to mitigation.
Change in intergenerational solidarity during a pandemic in social media discussions.
Živná, Kristýna ; Hájek, Martin (advisor) ; Jeřábek, Hynek (referee)
The thesis deals with the transformation of intergenerational solidarity and its thematization during the pandemic in the Czech Republic. The background for the research part is thematic debates from the social media environment, while the theoretical basis for data collection is Bengtson's theory of intergenerational solidarity. The analysis of the dataset, which contains over 29,000 records, is approached in two different ways that lead to the same conclusion. The thematic circles observed, regardless of the different methods used to classify them, change together over time, despite the high specificity of each circle.
A case study on public diplomacy and nation branding - the Czech center in New York City
Richter, Daniel ; Klabíková Rábová, Tereza (advisor) ; Konrádová, Marcela (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to determine the success of the Czech Center in New York in public diplomacy and nation branding. The thesis is divided into 5 parts and a conclusion. The main objective of the thesis was to find out the mission of the Czech Center and then to follow this up with research on whether it is successful in its activities. The thesis notes the development of the Czech Centers in general and the specifics of center in New York, then discusses the economic situation. Mainly the thesis notes what the most important activities of the centre are. I worked with sources from the Czech Centrers directly (interviews with the Director General of the Czech Centres and the Director of the Czech Center in New York), as well as with professional literature or news reports. A large part of the work also consists of research. There I found out from both Czech and American respondents what they would like to see in at a Czech Center. Then, by comparing these results with other information found, I can say whether the Czech Center in New York is effective and add short recommendations for their communication.
