Socio-geographical regionalization of Benesov district in 2001-2011 and the impact of work attractiveness of Prague on its changes

Commuting became an inseparable part of everyday life of contemporary society and an analysis of commuting flows has a fundamental meaning for capturing social- geographical organization of society. The main object of this thesis is to identify changes in geographical aspects of commuting to work and school in the Benešov district during the period 2001-2011. The second object is to evaluate the impact of macroregional centre of Prague on the commuting in Benešov district. The district is, taking into consideration the nearness and a good traffic connesction to Prague, appropriate example for assessing the impact of macroregional centre on neighbouring micro-regions. This impact is followed by an analysis of commuting flows and also by a questionnare survey. The purpose of the questionnare survey is to capture how people feel about commuting to work and labour market in Prague. Benešov and the changes of its society 1918-1921

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to analyze if, respectively how much society in Benešov changed after first WWI. I was inspired by microhistory, comparison and probe method to map the period. I try to depict, how the society in Benešov developed. My main intention is to show, that development society in Benešov was after WWI mostly discontinuous, however we can find some examples of continuity. To be specific I research problems of municipal politics, education, Church, army, culture or associational life. They are questions that cannot by simply answered, for example one of them was Konopiště castle case. Described events are put in nationwide context. The main sources for my thesis were regional origin sources. Another information to my topic I got from contemporary press.

Church of St. Nicholas in Benešov

The Diploma thesis deals with the church of St. Nicholas. Thesis is about church monographically, focusing on the period of creation, the buiding itself and artistic value of the church and its equipment. Thesis processes architecture of the church, not just a description, but it also looks for possible patterns and analogie. Whereas the predecessor of the church can be dated to the 11. century is very interesting to see how the church was created in connection with the foundation of the city. Equipment of the church is at first sight rather baroque, but we will find such a sights as the valuable work of the main altar, the image Assumpta from 15. century Among important baroque monuments includes the cykle of the life of St. Clement by Ignác Viktorín Raab and statues of the St. Aldabert and Prokop from the workshop of Matyas Bernar Braun. The church is an interestin unification of various styles.

Church of St. Nicholas in Benešov with attention to the cult of St. Clement.

The aim of my work is the church of St. Nicholas in Benesov in terms of one of the monuments, which is the cycle of St. Clement Baroque painter Ignaz Raab. At the beginning shortly focus on the period of the formation and history of the church. Church on this site can be dated back to the 11th century already. It is very interesting to observe how the church was created in connection with the founding of the city. In the next part, I will study the cult of St. Clement and his association with the Czech environment. In the next chapter I will deal with the author cycle Ignaz Raab. I will be interested in what the creative period of a cycle of St. Clement, which Czech and foreign influences acting upon it, and how this inspiration reflected in his work. The last part will include individual images of the cycle, which will discuss the iconography and by comparison.

The process of Setting Up the Local Government in the Municipality of Benešov

This bachelor thesis focuses on local politics in Benešov. Thesis is separated into theoretic part and analytic part.
Theoretic part contains definitions of basic terms and mechanisms that are needed to know to understand local politics. Analytic part is focused on Benešov and its demographic and socioeconomic characteristic, analysis of local elections results 2006, 2010 and 2014. Thesis includes also evaluation of actual political situation.

Transfer of the Czech population from SS training area Benešov and its social impacts (1942-1945)

The theme of the work is the transfer of population caused by the establishment of the Waffen SS training area between Benešov and Sedlčany (SS-Truppenübungsplatz "Böhmen"). The central part of the text is a comprehensive conception of the transfer, the emphasis is put on the perception of events from different perspectives. Documents of Protectorate authorities are confronted with local elites memoirs, chronicles and memories of inhabitants. There are captured the process of displacement, work of the Resettlement office, finding a new existence, the expropriation of property, departure of the inhabitants and their subsequent fates. Text is complemented with historical photos, documents relating to the displacement, a map of the occupied territory and graphs approaching professional composition of the population, provision of a new existence and dispersion into the Protectorate districts. Changes of a paradigm of society during the war and after the war and the impact of these changes on post-war historiographical construction are outlined marginally.

Changes in Development of Urban Spatial Structure after 1990 - the Case Study of 5 Towns in South Bohemia

The thesis is focused on changes of spatial urban structure in context of post socialist transformation. The most important phenomena which affect the character of post socialist cities in the two last decades were pointed out on the base of studied literature. The development of the phenomena was examined as a case study of five towns in the Czech Republic. The election of the cities encompasses - Benešov, Jindřichův Hradec, Pelhřimov, Písek and Tábor. The research was pointed on the following features: new residential areas, the quality of estates and its regeneration, the changes caused by industry restructuring, the revitalization of brownfields, the new localization trends of retail and the city centre utilization changes. The aim of the thesis is considering the influence of process diffusion from the capital city. The results of the research indicated some trends of the studied features development. However the intensity of progressing changes was too marginal to assign definite conclusion.
