Snoezelen as special educational support for children with autism spectrum disorder

This diploma thesis is focused on Snoezelen as special educational support for children with autistic spectrum disorder. Snoezelen can be understood as a way of relaxation, spending free time, pedagogical action or comprehensive therapy. It can be practiced in different facilities and it brings profit to general public with different impairment. Autistic spectrum disorder is one of diagnoses in which therapists decide to use the effect of Snoezelen. There are some researches focusing on quantitative detection of the circumstances associated with Snoezelen. This is why this thesis is dedicated to a qualitative study of the use of Snoezelen in a special pedagogical institution. This Thesis aims to analyse literary sources to comprehensively characterize problems of autistic spectrum disorders and to outline the principles, benefits and requirements of Snoezelen. Subsequently, using a qualitative survey, describe coherently the way in which Snoezelen is practiced to children with autistic spectrum in a particular special pedagogical institution, evaluate this way and recommend possible improvements. Specifications for Education of Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder

This thesis is called Specifics for Education of Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and the main aim is to characterize specifics for education of students with autism spectrum disorder. For the main aim of this thesis are important three research questions, one main question and two specific questions. These questions should provide answers to what approaches, specifics and tools are used during the education of mentioned students. The thesis itself is split into theoretical and practical part, in additon to this, it contains also Introduction and Conclusion. Both parts contain several chapters and subchapters. The theoretical part contains one chapter split into three subchapters. These subchapters are mostly about defining ''autism spectrum disorder" (ASD), about the system of education of students with ASD and about educational interventions used during education of students with ASD, especially structured teaching, which belongs among main specifics used by given students. In the practical part is described the aim of this thesis and the research questions. Then follows the description of the chosen methods of the research and the collection of the data. Then follows the chapter, which concerns the realization of the research. The next chapter is the chapter called The Results, which contains the case studies. For accomplishing the objective of the research was used the method of participant observation. Thanks to this method were gained findings used later in this thesis. For obtaining the complete case studies, the parents of the observed children and their special pedagogues were interviewed. By using these chosen methods and the case studies, the pedagogical approaches and used tools were characterized. Among the main specifics for the education of students with ASD belong the individual approach with consideration of individual peculiarity of every student.
Respite Services for People with Autism and Mental Retardation - Availability in Regions

This diploma thesis deals with respite service and issues with providing respite services to parents of children and adults with autism and mental retardation. The opening chapters focus on autistic spectrum disorder in combination with mental retardation and potential challenging behaviour. This work describes therapeutic process for persons with autism and mental retardation and it also describes the issues with providing social service to these persons. This thesis focuses mainly on respite services. The empirical part describes the availability of respite services for families with autistic person and mental retardation in the Czech Republic.
Motion Composition for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Topic: Motion Composition for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder Objectives: The aim of this thesis has been to find out the degree of mastery for individual performance of Motion Composition performed by children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Methods: Observation method was supplemented with video-recording that was conducted monthly. This was used to determine the degree of self-reliance. Also, feedback from other individuals has been used. Results: Outcomes of this survey indicate that children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are able to individually perform Motion Composition. Some children need more time to perform perfectly, but they are able to memorize components of Motion Composition, arrange them in the correct order and after some rehearsal they are able to perform Motion Composition correctly. The level of performance for individual components is raised proportionally when children can see visual execution of each element and also hear its description. Evaluated results of a second scientific question, which was related to the level of performance difficulty of individual components of Motion Composition for children with ASD, have brought unanticipated results. Theoretical part is focused on characteristics of pupils from special basic school. It describes thein diagnoses - mental handicap, multihandicap and especialy autism. Next part oves overview of natural materials, thein varieties and manufacturing. It also describes how crafts are involved in General education program and School education program.This part of thesis pay attention to safety precautions during craft works. Practical part pay is focused on casuistry of four pupils with autism. The main method was direkt observation during their work with natural materials. This observational work took six months. Leisure of children with autism spectrum disorder

This thesis focuses on the games of the children with autism spectrum disorder as their most common activity. Furthermore, it describes the particularities and conditions of their games. Some methods of working with these children are mentioned as well, particularly the structured learning method. The goal of the thesis is to highlight the importance of games for the autistic children and to propose several different ways of improving their individual skills required cooperative games. The proposed learning scenarios come out of the structured learning method and they are based on my own experience with preschool children. The thesis suggests that games are a basic need of every child, including those with autism spectrum disorder. Children's games are absolutely irreplaceable because of their significance in the child's development and its process of socialization. However, there are certain constraints and difficulties for the children with autism spectrum disorder when it comes to the development of their individual and social skills. Our goal is to come out with certain measures that would help these children overcome their difficulties and integrate into the intact society.

This thesis deals with the issue of the autistic spectrum disorders. The main goal is to find out if it's possible to integrate the autistic children into the society. Another task is to find those educational and formative methods which can positively influence the integration. This thesis focuses on different aspects of this disorder as well such as diagnostic, personal and work assertion of these handicapped people in the maturity.
Integrated pupil with the autistic spectrum disorder and pupils in the class

The objective of this work is to research and find social relationships, understanding and attitude towards integrated children with the autistic spectrum disorder in the environment, where they dwell for the longest period, with exception of their stay in families, i.e. in their class collective. The purpose of this work is to find out not only relationship and attitude of pupils in the class towards an integrated pupil, but also towards a teaching assistant operating in the given class.
