Teaching theoretical informatics using the CLIL method
KŮRKA, Martin
This diploma thesis deals with the design, preparation, and testing of teaching a theoretical topic in computer science using the CLIL method. I have chosen encoding and data transmission as my topic. I have created 7 teaching lessons, which contain over 30 activities and correspond to the expected outcomes according to the new framework curriculum for lower secondary education in the field of computer science. Each lesson has a different content focus. The created materials cover, for example the topic of character and number encoding, encryption, the use of the binary system and its limits, bitmap images and their encoding or data compression. All lessons are accompanied by method sheets in English, together with worksheets. The method sheets contain expected outcomes and possible problems that may occur. The lessons and activities themselves are then described in detail in the practical part. Since all the objectives and expected outcomes were met during my testing in practice, my conclusion is that the CLIL method is suitable for teaching the theoretical topic of computer science. However, a certain amount of support in the mother tongue was needed for teaching, which decreased as the students' confidence increased. It was also necessary to provide students with support in the form of visual aids such as worksheets. The most important fact is that during the testing the content was not neglected at the expense of language development and vice versa. In the theoretical part of this thesis, I describe the field of computer science according to the updated framework curriculum for primary education, especially the area of data, information, and modelling. Furthermore, in the theoretical part, I discuss the principles, benefits, and methods of the CLIL method.
Theory of the decision to become a computer science teacher
KOUŘIMSKÝ, Martin
This study focuses on constructing a theory describing the process of choosing the profession of a computer science teacher. It utilizes a research design anchored in theory and analyzes data obtained, among other sources, during the creation of my bachelor's thesis, which examined the factors influencing this choice and to which this study builds upon. Thorough data coding and identification of key categories are conducted, serving as the framework for this theory. Findings suggest that the key processes influencing this choice are expectations of the study, choice of specialization, motivation to pursue teaching as a profession, and perception of external factors. Students enter the study with expectations based on experiences from lower levels of education, which may have played a crucial role in their decision-making. Choosing computer science as a specialization, especially for those coming from schools with a computer science focus, appears to be a significant factor. Additionally, it seems that computer science teachers who taught students at the primary or secondary level may have a substantial influence on their choice of this specialization. However, some students enter the pedagogical faculty with different expectations, such as aiming to obtain a degree with minimal effort. Negative perceptions of salary, requirements for mathematical knowledge, and low interest from girls in studying computer science education may present challenges, contributing to the low number of certified computer science teachers.
Information System Assessment and Proposal for ICT Modification
Puchnar, Michal ; Novák, Lukáš (referee) ; Koch, Miloš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on analyzying of the information system in comapany Tirad s.r.o. which uses information system Workplan. Theoretical part is focused on problematics of information systems in general, it defines the methods for analysis of information system effectiveness. We are going to use systems Zefis and HOS 8. Based on these methods are discovered weaknesses and are proposed possible solutions for improving of information system effectiveness which leads to increasing of company performance and threads elimination.
Methodology for creating SIP packages with a focus on digitalization of printed documents (version 2.0)

Materials to support the teaching of informatics at high schools
Mazuch, Jakub ; Procházka, Josef (advisor) ; Černochová, Miroslava (referee)
1 The master thesis on Materials to Support the Teaching of Computer Science at High Schools focuses on the analysis of teaching materials for the educational content of Computer Science in terms of their educational aspects. The thesis is based on the hypothesis that teaching supported by didactic materials has a positive impact on the effectiveness of teaching. The main output of the thesis is the design of an original teaching material, including methodologies, which has been tested in practice at a secondary school. At the beginning, the thesis focuses on the theoretical description of school Computer Science in the current educational system relating to the content of Computer Science as a scientific field. The author also presents an overview of didactic resources, aids and their specifics for secondary schools. Considering the extensiveness of Computer Science, the thesis defines Mathematics in Computer Science as the topic which is analysed with regard to the availability of teaching materials. The analysis of the selected teaching materials includes an analysis of the didactic demand of their texts. Following the presented theoretical findings, the thesis contains a proposal of an original didactic material including methodology. The proposed educational material takes the form of a Moodle...
Assessment of high school students in computer science education
Círal Sedláček, Martin ; Černochová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Novák, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis concerns the assessment and evaluation of secondary school students in computer science subjects in the Information Technology 18-20-M/01 field of study in the Czech Republic. There is no methodology readily available for the teachers of informatics-oriented subjects to assess and evaluate students, and the teachers adapt the assessment to their own needs as well as the conditions of the particular school. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis is to introduce the issue of assessment and evaluation, based on the analysis of literature on the issue of school assessment and evaluation at secondary schools in IT-oriented subjects. The theoretical part of the thesis describes theoretical knowledge in the field of student assessment and evaluation. The possibilities and types of assessment and evaluation, together with methodological approaches to those, are presented, along with their use, advantages, and disadvantages. The findings are supported by professional literature, and further interpreted. The aim of the practical part is to observe how teachers evaluate students in IT-oriented subjects, what methods and approaches they apply in individual subjects, how they approach the evaluation of the learning outcomes and their students' work. The research was conducted on n = 63...
Digital literacy in Computer science
Pečenka, Jakub ; Vaňková, Petra (advisor) ; Leipert, Jiří (referee)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the investigation of digital literacy in the field of Informatics. The concepts of digital literacy, digital competence and the framework of digital competence are explained in the theoretical part. These frameworks, which are used to define and assess digital competences in more detail, are subsequently analysed, described, and compared with each other. Then, based on chosen sources, the digital literacy of current Czech teachers is described. Furthermore, the currently ongoing revision of school educational programmes for primary schools is described, which adds digital competence to the educational programmes for primary schools and replaces the educational field "Information and communication technology" with the new educational field "Informatics". At the end of the theoretical part, the available materials for the preparation of Informatics learning activities in accordance with the mentioned revision are analysed. In the practical part, fifteen learning activities are proposed for the lessons of the new Informatics for various classes of the second grade of primary schools. The activities are divided into the four categories mentioned in the revision: "Data, information and modelling", "Algorithmizing and programming", "Information systems" and "Digital...
