Discrimination against LGB employees in the workplace

This thesis focuses on workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation, using the GBDH model as a theoretical framework. The first part presents a description of the given issue in Czech law and a comparison of the Czech Republic with other European countries. The main legal document concerning the given issue is the Anti-Discrimination Act, which divides discrimination into direct and indirect. In the Czech Republic, there is systematic discrimination against homosexuals and bisexuals based on the law in two cases - childcare and the possibility of leave of absence from work. According to the LGBTI II survey data, the Czech Republic is one of the countries where discrimination at work (11.2 %) and when looking for a job (4.2 %) is the least frequent. The second part of the thesis tests the influence of socio-demographic characteristics and the attitude of the employer and the collective on the level of discrimination against LGB employees. According to the results, previous negative experiences of the employee - with negative attitudes colleagues toward LGB minority, with inappropriate remarks about the LGB minority - have an impact on this type of discrimination. The diploma thesis deals with the tax effects on Czech entities carrying out economic activities in Austria. The theoretical part of thesis focuses on the definition of basic concepts of tax issues, description of the tax system in the selcted country. Furthermore, the theoretical part covers the principles of the double taxation treaty between the Czech Republic and Austria. The practical part is dedicted to model examples of Czech entities doing business or working in Austria.

The thesis is divided into 2 parts. The first theoretical part contains the theoretical aspect of the target issue related to employee motivation and motivational factors, where I present the basic knowledge in these areas, which helps to further develop the work. The practical part contains an evaluation of the current situation of the company in terms of employee motivation through a survey. Taking into account the results and findings, I then develop a proposal for improving employee motivation in the company, which can be used by the company in practice to increase employee productivity.

The second part analyzes the current state of the company's rewarding system, drawing on academic literature. The third part of the thesis includes changes and improvements of the current rewarding system, which will lead to higher employee satisfaction.

In my bachelor's thesis I deal with suggestions for improving the company's motivational system. I specify the basic concepts related to motivation, incentive program and employee remuneration. On the basis of the analysis, carried out by means of a questionnaire survey, I evaluate the data obtained and identify the shortcomings of the motivational program. At the end of the thesis, I suggests specific changes to the company's motivational system that would help the company to increase employee´s motivation and satisfaction. These proposed changes include the introduction of Sick days, monthly bonuses, flexible working hours, team building events and non-financial rewards.

The second part is devoted to the introduction of the company, description of the current state of the remuneration and motivation system, as well as data collection using a questionnaire survey. In the last part, the results are evaluated and recommendations for the company are constructed.
