Supporting the development of metacognitive skills nd compensatory strategies in students with specific learning disabilities

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to investigate the learning strategies of students with specific learning disabilities. It is divided into two parts. The theoretical part offers an insight into specific learning disabilities, presents their definitions, their manifestations in the school educational process and their implications for education. The empirical part uses qualitative research to highlight the different learning strategies used by students with specific learning disabilities. Using semi-structured interviews with students with specific learning disabilities, it seeks to identify methods that would contribute to more effective learning. The research section described the statements from the informants and also presented their experiences of support in education.
Special education interventions aimed at pupils with specific learning disabilities in primary schools Jablonec region

The diploma thesis examines how special education interventions are conducted for pupils with specific learning disabilities in primary schools in the Jablonec nad Nisou district. It consists of theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part presents, in its four chapters, counseling services in education, especially school counseling centers and school counseling workplaces. It also discusses the position of the school special education teacher, his/her qualification standards and the professional activities he/she performs. This is followed by a section on specific learning disabilities and the last theoretical chapter focuses on the teaching of the subject of special educational care to pupils with specific learning disabilities. The empirical part used qualitative research methods, case study design. The research involved eight school special education teachers working in primary schools in the district. It was conducted through interviews, supplemented by observations and analysis of school documents. All data were analyzed using the open coding method, and subsequent categories were interpreted using axial coding. Biofeedback and its practical use

The aim of this work is describe common methods of biological feedback therapy that is used to treat some psychosomatic diseases. Subsequently, the description is focused on minimal brain dysfunction treatment by the help of EEG biofeedback. Properties and technical requirements for this therapy are concretized. The last part of this thesis is dedicated to the design and realization of practical software tool for EEG biofeedback therapy which is made in LabView 7.1. The M535 acquisition unit and NI USB-6221 measuring device are used for hardware solution.
The risk of learning disability in preschool children with communication disorders

This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of the risk of specific learning disabilities based on the partial function deficits in preschool children with communication disorders. The bachelor thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the terminology closely related to communication disorders. In addition, the thesis defines and clarifies the terminology of specific learning disabilities, their subdivisions as sell as describes the deficits of the partial function deficits, which are related to them. In the practical part, the course of the research investigation is described, and the analysis of the results is also carried out. The qualitative research was conducted in a preschool institute, and with the consent of the legal guardians of the participating children, individual anamneses of each children were taken. Subsequently, the diagnostic method of B. Sindelar, its evaluation and comparison with other individuals was carried out. The thesis also attempts to compare with the results published in the available literature on a similar topic. The bachelor's thesis deals with the education of pupils with special learning disabilities in secondary schools. The theoretical part consists of the definition of terminology and clarification of individual learning disorders. It also includes diagnosis and re-education of specific learning disabilities. The theoretical part is processed on the basis of information from professional sources on the studied issue. The practical part consists of an exploratory investigation focused on individuals with a specific learning disability. It uses a qualitative approach and contains the elaboration of three case studies. The exploratory investigation is based on the method of semi-structured in-depth interview and observation. The survey also draws on individual documents of the respondent, such as an individual educational plan or recommendations from pedagogical and psychological counselling services. The main goal is to find out how students with a specific learning disability manage the demands of their studies. Another area of interest is finding out what helps students in their studies and what, on the contrary, burdens them. We also find out how do teachers help them and how do they perceive their specific learning disability. Furthermore we examined what are the pupils' relationships with their classmates and how did they perceive the transition from primary to secondary school.
Influence of physical activity on pupils with specific learning disabilities at primary school

The diploma thesis the Influence of physical activity on pupils with specific learning disabilities at primary school presents readers with basic information and insight into the issue of specific learning disorders. The diploma thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is about definitions and causes of specific learning disabilities. Education and the legislative framework in the Czech Repuplic are also defined there. The second chapter is about approaches and reeducation of individual specific learning disorders. The text in third chapter is about the development of movement as an important part of human's life and it also describes therapeutical activities which are applied in primary schools. The goal of this diploma thesis is to present a set of games and activties, which help the development of gross and fine motor skills of pupils, and therefore affect the quality of learning. The research in form of qualitative research survey is realised in the practical part of this thesis and it's described in chapter four. The conclusion of the work presents an evaluation of the observed areas in which the students fail and in which there was improvement due to the application of music-movement activities. Analysis of German language textbooks in relation to the needs of pupils with specific learning difficulties

The thesis focuses on the analysis of the German language textbooks from Fraus (Deutsch mit Max), Hueber (Beste Freunde, Momente), Klett (Maximal interaktiv) and Polyglot (Macht mit!), which are examined from the point of view of the needs of pupils with specific learning disabilities, focusing on the visual form of these textbooks. The thesis not only evaluates the visual criteria of the textbook sets that are distracting for pupils with specific learning disabilities, but also looks at the manifestations of each specific learning disability. In the theoretical part, it also highlights how specific learning disabilities affect the acquisition of the German language and then proposes recommendations on how to work with pupils with specific learning disabilities in German language teaching.
