Methods and techniques of drama education as a tool for inclusion of pupils with a different mother tongue

The diploma thesis is named "Methods and Techniques of Drama Education as a Tool for Inclusion of Pupils with a Different Mother Tongue." In the theoretical part, the issues of pupils with a different mother tongue are specified. Subsequently, I generally discuss drama education as a method of teaching and furthermore its specific methods and techniques, which can be used for the inclusion of a pupil with a foreign mother language. In the practical part, I name the most common difficulties in the inclusion of a pupil with a foreign mother language in the educational process and define the utilization rate of drama education in eliminating the issues mentioned in the previous part. In the research, I used a quantitative analysis, a structured questionnaire method, and qualitative experiments through semi-structured interviews. The questionnaire was answered by 42 respondents (pedagogical employees).The results of the questionnaire analysis indicate that the greatest difficulties are language barriers, cultural differences, and unfamiliarity with the environment. Communication between primary school teachers and families of Ukrainian refugees

This thesis deals with communication between primary education teachers and parents of Ukrainian pupils who came to the Czech Republic as a result of the war conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The thesis examines and analyses the experiences of specific teachers working in Prague mainstream primary schools in the field of communication with parents of pupils. The theoretical part focuses on the concept of integration of foreigners and related legislation, including statistical data. It also introduces organisations dealing with the issue of foreign pupils with a different mother tongue. It focuses on social communication, its forms and communication channels between teachers and parents of pupils. It describes obstacles to communication, such as language barriers, different cultural backgrounds, traumas caused by war and teachers' lack of communication skills. The thesis explores the opportunities offered by art education in supporting the social relations amongst pupils with a different mother tongue. It investigates the potential of artistic practices of art education in promoting understanding among pupils; specifically in the integration of Ukrainian pupils who have come to class without prior knowledge of the Czech language. It shows the possibilities and limits of their visual communication with the environment. Pupils with a different mother tongue have still been a marginalized group in the Czech school environment. The role of assistant teacher in the education of pupils with different kindergartens at primary schools in the South Bohemian Region with a focus on Ukrainian pupils

The topic of the bachelor thesis focuses on supporting the education of pupils with a different mother tongue through a teaching assistant. The aim of the whole thesis is to analyse the role and importance of the teaching assistant in the education of pupils from Ukraine. The bachelor thesis is composed of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part consists of three chapters, which contain the basic theoretical insight into the mentioned issue. The first chapter is devoted to the basic characteristics of a pupil with a different mother tongue, its definition, legislative anchoring and the last part deals with language support. The second chapter focuses on inclusive education for pupils with a different mother tongue. The chapter will outline the support measures used for this group, the factors influencing their education and the specifics of pupils from Ukraine. The last chapter deals with the profession of teaching assistant. The chapter describes the legislation, qualification readiness, the scope of work activities of the teaching assistant and the cooperation between the teaching assistant and the teacher. The practical section examines the role of the teaching assistant and his/her support in the education of pupils from Ukraine. This section is conducted through a questionnaire survey, which is then complemented by semi-structured interviews with a teaching assistant and a teacher who have experience of teaching Ukrainian pupils. A total of 226 respondents took part in the survey. From the results, we learn about the work activities of the teaching assistant, the use of didactic aids and mutual cooperation in the education of pupils from Ukraine. The results based on the quantitative research were subsequently complemented through interviews with teaching staff. The bachelor thesis can serve to optimize the education of pupils with different mother tongues in primary schools.
Inclusive education with a focus on the pupil with a different mother tongue

The diploma thesis "Inclusive education with a focus on the pupil with a different mother tongue" is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is based on the basis of a professional literary research of the chosen issue, in which the author focuses on the pupil with special educational needs from a different socio-cultural environment, on a pupil with a different mother tongue who is educated at a regular primary school. In the introductory theoretical part, the author deals with migration, multiculturalism and briefly introduces the country, the national minority, where the student with a different language comes from. The author also includes an explanation of the terms such as intercultural identity, communication-language and integration of foreigners to this topic. In the second chapter of the theoretical part of "Inclusive education" of the pupils with specific educational needs, the author focuses on pupils with a different mother tongue. Use of artefilities in the adaptation of pupils with OMJ to the primary school environment

The diploma thesis "The Use of Art Therapy in the Adaptation of Students with Different Native Languages to the Elementary School Environment" focuses on the utilization and effectiveness of art therapy as the main tool for developing relationships and improving the social climate of the classroom. The aim of the thesis is to propose and verify through research an art therapy program in the fifth grade of elementary school. The theoretical part introduces the specifics of students with different native languages, particularly their Adaptation to a new environment as well as the preparation of all presently studying students in the class and the school as such for the arrival of a student with a different native language. The theoretical part also defines art therapy as a separate field of science subject, its focus, and its contribution to education. The practical part presents ten art therapy sessions aimed at developing prosocial behavior, assertiveness, and socially acceptable behavior not only among Czech students but especially among students with different native languages and war refugees. Otherness of Pupils from Migrant Backgrounds as a Topic for Story-Based Teaching

This thesis examines the topic of teaching the theme of otherness of pupils from migrant backgrounds to younger school-aged children, specifically through narrative engagement utilizing the Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking methods. Within the framework of action research, reading lessons were designed and executed to explore various facets of the situations faced by pupils from migrant backgrounds. This educational intervention is meant to facilitate comprehension of these pupils' circumstances and foster the overall acceptance of them. An analysis of the outcomes for each lesson is presented, also the outcomes were evaluated in terms of pedagogical reflection. Moreover, two of them were evaluated by another teacher. Topic relevant literature for children was thoroughly examined and incorporated into the research findings. The reading lessons were based on the following four titles: Kiko and the Secret of the Paper Butterfly, Maja and Kim, The Arab of the Future and Eric. The following methods were employed: unstructured observation, thematic analysis, semi-structured interviews, and content analysis of the lesson outcomes. Education of Pupils with Special Educational Needs at Waldorf Schools

The bachelor thesis addresses the issue of educating students with a different mother tongue (DMT) in the environment of a Czech elementary Waldorf-type school. The theoretical part defines a student with special educational needs. Next, Waldorf education is described. The research part of the thesis was implemented using a qualitative type of research. The research group included teaching staff who directly participated in the educational process of DMT students.
