System for Processing Data from Smart Devices
Bureš, Michal ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Hynek, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design, implementation, and testing of a new information system for processing significant volumes of data from smart devices using user criteria – terminologically Key Performance Indicators. The thesis describes the domain of the Internet of Things and Smart Cities and discusses Key Performance Indicators and their applicability for monitoring smart devices and transforming data from these devices into practically applicable knowledge. Another significant topic of the thesis is information systems, their architecture, and performance – here the thesis describes various concepts and aspects through which it is possible to define and evaluate the performance of software, especially information systems and web services. Subsequently, the thesis deals with the system itself, first from the perspective of requirement specification, determined by analysis of potential users and their needs, and also analysis of existing solutions and their shortcomings. Significant requirements for the new system include stream processing of data from smart devices in real-time, high system capacity, system stability, and expandability. Later, the design of the system is described with an emphasis on the data model of the system, the process of evaluating Key Performance Indicators, and the architecture of the system, followed by implementation with an emphasis on the implementation of the client side of the system, the implementation of individual services forming the backend of the system, communication between these services using RabbitMQ technology, etc. The final part of the thesis, dedicated to testing the system, focuses on system performance, i.e., the throughput of individual services in processing messages from smart devices, optimization of throughput, benefits of horizontal scaling, and system-wide latency.
Secure, reliable and adaptive network based on Cisco devices
Lefler, Přemysl ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Kubánková, Anna (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with design of secure, reliable and adaptive network using Cisco network devices. Thesis includes design of a network with description of each individual technology, that were used in the design to meet requirements for safety, reliability and adaptivity. The last chapter describes frequently occuring network attacks along with a description of their execution followed by implementation of defense against them.
Universal Reservation System in Cloud
Bulín, Martin ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Škoda, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes design and implementation of universal reservation system in cloud. Main part of this thesis includes review of cloud providers and existing reservation systems. Furthermore this academic paper deals with proposal and implementation of the reservation system. This system can show us the benefit of the cloud. In the conclusion I deal with scalability of cloud and testing created system in Amazon Web Services cloud.
Database Performance Tuning
Paulíček, Martin ; Ruttkay, Ladislav (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
The objective of this thesis was to study problems of an insufficient database processing performance and possibilities how to improve the performance with database configuration file optimizations, more powerful hardware and parallel processing. The master thesis contains a description of relational databases, storage media and different forms of parallelism with its use in database systems. There is a description of the developed software for testing database performance. The program was used for testing several database configuration files, various hardware, different database systems (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and advantages of parallel method "partitioning". Test reports and evaluation results are described at the end of the thesis.
Game Portal in Cloud
Pečínka, Zdeněk ; Otrusina, Lubomír (referee) ; Škoda, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development of the gaming portal in Cloud designed for selected PaaS provider. Informs about the possibilities offered by cloud computing. Summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of PaaS providers. It pursues the design and the implementation of the application, focusing on its scalability and modularity. The result is the gaming portal providing games Tanks and Ships, which you can play against other users or against a computer controlled opponent. The solution contains the evaluation of the scalability of the critical components, based on the results of the stress tests.
High-Performance Platform for Malware Research
Plaskoň, Pavol ; Bartík, Vladimír (referee) ; Kolář, Dušan (advisor)
Anti-malware companies analyze large number of files every day. In order to speed up their analysis, many automatized tools were implemented. Detection definitions that detect malicious software are often generated automatically. Information about currently spreading malware is scattered across several tools and they are sometimes too generic. This work proposes a new tool that will aggregate, prioritize, and evaluate all the available information. Due to large amount of incoming data, high performance and scalability of the system is necessary. Files, detection definitions, and other objects will be tagged using the given information directly or inferred. Collected information will be accessible via interface for further analysis and statistics. Everything was implemented, tested and put into production.
Advanced Static Analysis of Atomicity in Concurrent Programs through Facebook Infer
Harmim, Dominik ; Rogalewicz, Adam (referee) ; Vojnar, Tomáš (advisor)
Available Solutions for Server Clustering
Bílek, Václav ; Čejka, Rudolf (referee) ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (advisor)
The goal of this master thesis is to analyze Open Source resources for loadbalancing and high availability, with aim on areas of its typical usage. These areas are particularly solutions of network infrastructure (routers, loadbalancers), generally network and internet services and parallel filesystems. Next part of this thesis is analysis of design, implementation and plans of subsequent advancement of an fast growing Internet project. The effect of this growth is necessity of solving scalability on all levels. The last part is performance analysis of individual loadbalancing methods in the Linux Virtual Server project.
Mobile System for Customer Feedback Collection
Kadlubiec, Jakub ; Szőke, Igor (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
