The intention of my thesis is to analyze "the image of Jana Nagyova on media scandal "Abuse of Military Intelligence"in the period of June 1st 2013 to December 31th 2013 and from May 11th 2015 to July 31st 2015. It is dependent on every single phase of that case and incorporating the large social effects as well. I focused on the semantic forms of the headlines printed by daily Blesk, Mlada fronta Dnes and Pravo. In this research, I decided to use a quantitative analysis based on the answering of the basic hypothesis. This hypothesis is called: it is possible to blamed Jana N. based just by these kinds of headlines, before getting the verdict in this cause? To be more specific: it is possible that all these headlines were prepared to affect the reader's perception of Jana N. including her judgment in the moral, the social or in criminal law ? I also tried to analyze if it could be possible to find the basic differences between the newspapers as it is so- called and the investigative journalism in general. My thesis is divided into two main parts. The first one is based on the theory and it contains a description of that cause and a short theoretical excursion. The second part contains a description of the research methodology following the essence of that analysis. In conclusion of my thesis...

Today, not only individuals, but also family relations are influenced by new media, new technologies, and new forms of media content, therefore I focused on differences in consumption of those lifestyle magazine between two generations of women within a family. The thesis first introduces some theories on social construction of reality; how fashion is presented in magazines; how women as readers perceive fashion and how this influences readers' identities as a result of magazines' consumption, and how advertising is perceived by readers. Theoretical knowledge is then researched. Qualitative research was conducted on ten pairs of respondents (mother - daughter) in the form of interviews. The results show that lifestyle magazines do not serve as a main source of information about fashion anymore. Many young women are more likely to search for information related to fashion on the Internet today. Mothers and daughters do not happen to read and...
Obesity in the Czech media
Kovářů, Jakub ; Reifová, Irena (advisor) ; Vochocová, Lenka (referee) ; Bednařík, Petr (referee)
Obesity is one of the most serious problems of the contemporary civilization. Although its causes are multifactorial, some authors blame media for the increase of obesity. However, media can also be seen from another perspective. It can be seen as a tool for activating people towards a healthier lifestyle and thus moderate obesity. This work is based on this second view. On the basis of the health communication are formulated requirements on informing about obesity. I use quantitative content analysis to verify whether Czech media works according to these requirements. I come to the conclusion that the Czech media fulfills the requirements only partially. Although media consider obesity as a problem and gives factually correct information, it blames mostly individuals, which is not in accordance with the recommendations of the health communication. Likewise, it offers mainly individual forms of solutions. Compared with foreign media it focus less on childhood obesity too.
