The issue of communication between medical staff and the patient

The diploma thesis focused on the issue of communication between the medical staff and the patient deals with attitudes, knowledge and ethical isssues of communication between the doctor and the patient. The target group is the medical staff of the hospital ward and also the specialized outpatient service. The theoretical part explains the importance of communication between medical staff and the patient in a particular health care system. It also explains why ethics is important in relation to communication. All theoretical knowledge is based on available literary sources. The practical part describes the preparation, implementation and results of the research. Individual steps are taken to identify the current situaton in the issue. It has been found that attitudes and knowledge in patient communication vary. Furthermore, it was found that current educational programs and teaching plans of selected schools meet the level of school curriculum, but the practical teaching of communication skills is neglected. Aktive time use of people with mental disabilities: case studies of clients from supported housing

This bachelor thesis is focused on the active spending of time of people with mental disabilities who are users of supported housing. The thesis is divided into two main parts, namely the theoretical part and the practical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part defines the mental disability, presents the classification of mental retardation and, also focuses on the aetiology of mental disability. The second chapter focuses on the period of adulthood, the division of individual stages of adulthood and their characteristics, the period of adulthood for people with mental disabilities and the psychological peculiarities of persons with mental disabilities. The third chapter characterizes the social service of supported housing and, at the same time, there is a summary of other housing opportunities for people with mental disabilities. The fourth chapter defines the concept of leisure time and deals with the issue of spending leisure time in people with mental disabilities. The research part is realised as qualitative. For data collection was used the method of interview. The interviews were conducted with users of supported housing and a personal assistant of the same supported housing. Health promotion at the 1st Primary School

The bachelor thesis topic is "Health Promotion at the 1st Primary School". The goal is to find out how are fullfiled the RVP ZV criteria from heatlh promotion. For the research were selected two Primary Schools in the Central Bohemian village Dolní Břežany. The theoretical part deals with the concept of health and its determinants. It describes ways how to promote health and reasons for supporting it in whole population. Thesis defines the concept of health literacy and the possibility of its increase among pupils at the 1st Primary Schools. It also mentions how health support is anchored in the RVP ZV and how is possible to build up surroundings at School, which will promote health. Further shows pupil characteristics of the younger school age and its developmental specifications. In the practical part, the bachelor thesis finds out how are fullfiled the RVP ZV criteria from heatlh promotion at two selected Primary schools. To achieve this it was used a qualitative survey based on two structured interviews for pupils at 1st Primary School and their teachers. Interviews were recorded to the recording device after that they were transferred to electronic version. In the conclusion part all acquired answers are evaluated and there are proposed few projects how to promote health.
Prevention of burnout syndrome among selected retirement home workers

Main topic of diploma's thesis is burnout syndrome with emphasis on its prevention. Theoretical part focuses on characteristics of this phenomenon, describes the most common symptoms, causes and diagnostics. It deals with prevention, supervision and possible ways of intervention. It describes retirement home as a social service including its clients and social workers. The aim of research part is to find out how does factors as an education, experience and personal characteristics can influence the burnout syndrome. Research part also aims how work environment and supervision impact on its workers. In this qualitative research is the semi-structured interviews with social workers is used as a key method with emphasis on their opinions and feelings about examined topics. Main method is extended by observation. Research results shows, that education and supervision do not affect burnout significantly. On the other hand the work environment, experience and personal characteristics are shown as a very significant contribution factors to burnout syndrome. Stimulation of person with physical and multiple disabilities through Vojta's therapeutic concept

Diploma Thesis - Stimulation of person with physical and multiple disabilities through Vojta's therapeutic concept - is about aplication of Vojta's reflex locomotion method at newborns and infants.The theoretical assessment is describing the development, basic principles and the use of this method. Vojta's special diagnosing will be also addressed. The next major chapter will be the description of muscular dystrophy and consisting of basic division, description of diagnosing principals and treatment. One chapter is dedicated to Girdle Muscular Dystrophy and its manifestation and difficulties with the diagnosis. Empirical data is being collected through a questionnaire which was given to parents with newborns and infants and will provide a complex vision analysis on Vojta's method and its application to newborn and infants born with physical and multiple disabilities.
Learning styles and their effectivness amongst pupils with specific learning disabilities

This diploma thesis deals with learning styles and their effectiveness amongst pupils with specific learning disabilities. The theoretical part describes the problems of specific learning disorders, the current legislation and the possibilities of care for pupils with specific learning disabilities in school counseling facility, learning styles, learning habits amongst pupils with specific learning disorders and basic diagnostics of learning styles. The practical part is focused on the research and includes quantitative research which focuses on revealing the predominant style of learning at the second level of elementary school amongst pupils with learning disabilities and its comparison with the regular population of pupils. The thesis also answers a range of questions, such as, what helps learners who have learning disabilities to make the most out of their work, what disturbs the learners during learning, and compares these findings with pupils without any learning disabilities. The results of the survey revealed that pupils with specific learning disabilities involved in the research are predominant in the auditory style of learning. There were no differences found between predominant learning styles in pupils with learning disabilities and pupils without these disorders.

TITLE: Approach to Diagnostics of School Readiness in the Three European Countries AUTHOR: Anna Kubíčková DEPARTMENT: Department of Special Education SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Lenka Felcmanová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This thesis compares approaches to school readiness diagnostics in the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Austria. It explains the theoretical concept of school readiness, presents the possible consequences of inadequate readiness of a child enrolling in the first year of primary school, and gives examples of diagnostic materials used to evaluate school maturity and child readiness in the Czech Republic and abroad. This work describes the specifics of pre-school and early primary education, the processes of a child's entry into primary education and explains the involvement of educational authorities in the diagnostics of school readiness in the three studied countries. In practice, it compares the approaches to school readiness diagnostics and the entry of children into primary education through the testimonies of teachers and experts from these three countries.
