Based on the quantitative content analysis of Mlada fronta Ones and Hospodatske noviny during the period of one month leading to the election (i.e . beginning with the first presidential debate) the main aim of the study is to identify and describe the different approaches undertaken by the abovementioned newspapers. The hypothesis assume s that the MF Ones dealt mainly with 'popular aspects' of the election (like meeting s, image and character of the candidates, their families etc.) , while the Hospodarske noviny focused more on political and platform issues. The study is divided into two parts . The first one addresses the theoretical background - brief remarks regarding the media and elections in general; the outline of the presidential campaign within the realm of media and journalistic coverage; the analysis of the news values champ ioned by the Czech media ; and finally the characteristic of the analyzed newspapers. The second part is designed more practical in scope: it states the aim of the study as well as the employed methodology and code book. Last but not least it contains the results of the analysis and their interpretation. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Valentová, Hana ; Hendrychová, Michaela (advisor) ; Šustek, Petr (referee)
The presented thesis provides a comprehensive view of the current legislation on family and parents-children relationships, including insights into past and future. Being a still hot topic is the reason why I chose it for my thesis. Two introductory chapters discuss historical context of family and development of legal relationships between parents and children to date. The family has evolved over time, developed and changed and so has the status of its individual members, which was all reflected in legislation (paternal power, parental power, parental rights and duties, parental responsibilities). The current concept of family is described in Chapter 3, followed by Chapter 4 which gives general characteristics of family law and legal relations within the family, including the definitions of basic concepts used in the rest of the work. Key Chapter 5 discusses the concept of parental responsibilities brought into our law by the so-called "big amendment" to the Family Code (Act No. 91/1998 Coll.). In exercising these rights and duties, parents are obliged to protect the best interests of the minor child, to control his or her actions and to exercise supervision over him or her. The parent-child relationship is equal and both its parties are holders of complementary rights and duties. In all actions, child's...

Magical thinking is more often found in atheists and there is no link between magical thinking and field of education of participants. The study also deals with the development of the sibling relationship and notices some problematic moments, difficult situations and feelings that the polled siblings mentioned. In the empirical part, we presented a qualitative analysis of the data obtained from 7 informants using the method of a semi-structured interview. The aim of this study was to uncover the factors of the sibling relationships that are supportive or disturbing from the point of view of the healthy siblings. Following influences have been identified: significant influence of parents, influence of friends, influence of family, time spent together and enough communication with siblings with disabilities, but also the "supportive world" (i.e. the Internet or some supportive psychological programs). Valentová, Hana ; Jirák, Jan (advisor) ; Šoltys, Otakar (referee)
This diploma thesis on the "Non-Parliamentary Political Parties in Media Communication Process. Communication Behaviour of Non-Parliamentary Parties in the Czech Republic prior to the Parliamentary Elections of 2006" suggests that political parties wishing to succeed in the dynamically changing media environment today need to present themselves through the refection of contemporary trends in the development of political communication. Based on the hypothesis that the non-parliamentary (i.e. small) political parties fail to master these principles of media and political communication, which is one (but not the single) reason why they fail to reach spectacular results in elections, this diploma thesis investigates four Czech non-parliamentary political parties participating in the parliamentary elections of 2006. The theoretical part of this diploma thesis introduces the current phenomena of political communication, including the mediatisation and personalisation of politics and the concept of politics as entertainment, with a focus on the examples of professionalization of political communication, political marketing and the importance of public opinion. In the practical part of this diploma thesis, the fundamental definitions are used and the method of semiotic analysis applied to the media...

Holá, Michaela ; Kropáčková, Jana (advisor) ; Valentová, Hana (referee)
The Diploma thesis concerns with an issue of school attendance postponement. The theoretical part focuses on the issue of school maturity and readiness and analyses the period of child transition from a kindergarten to a primary school and the relatively high percentage of school attendance postponement. The practical part was carried out in form of a survey with three groups of respondents - parents, kindergarten teachers and primary school teachers. The aim of this part was to assess the position of parental public toward the school attendance postponement and possible children's preparation for future entry into the compulsory education. In case of the pedagogical public the central theme was a comparison of the kindergarten and primary school teachers' positions on the identical topic associated with a comparison of the most common reasons given in connection with school attendance postponement. This part was completed with a child case report of two preschool children for who the issue of granting the school attendance postponement was very current. The research carried out suggests that all groups of respondents agree with the compulsory school attendance postponement but only under the assumption that this postponement is justified. Otherwise, their positions were not as unambiguous. The...
