Monitoring of biologically active substances in Asian vegetables from Brassicaceae family
SVOBODOVÁ, Martina
The Bachelor thesis is monitoring the content of polyphenolic substances in non-traditional leafy vegetables at different times of the year. Specific samples were experimentally studied, such as: green mustard (Brassica rapa var. komatsuna), red mustard (Brassica juncea (L.) Czern.), mizuna and mibuna (Brassica rapa ssp. Japonica (L.)). Although the samples are Asian leafy vegetables, they are now widely used in the Czech Republic and can be found both in the form of seeds and as leaves for consumption. Therefore, the issue of beneficial biologically active substances is topical. The phenolic group includes flavonoids that are easily available and their biological activity is also significant. Vegetables have antioxidant properties due to flavonoids, which prevent lipid peroxidation and eliminate free radicals. This property is also beneficial to humans, and therefore flavonoid substances are also used in medicine. They can prevent the emergence of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease or atherosclerosis. Flavonoids are also attributed to preventive effects against cancer and diabetes mellitus. Samples of cruciferous leafy vegetables were grown in 2017 on the experimental plot of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice on the open area of the flowerbed in spring and autumn sowing. The high performance liquid chromatography method was used to measure the content of flavonoid substances. The following substances were studied in selected vegetables: myricetin, morin, luteolin, quercetin, apigenin and kaempferol. Unfortunately, myricetin, morin, luteolin and apigenin were not detected by HPLC. Concentrations of only quercetin and kaempferol were measured for final comparison with expert articles. The sowing time did not affect the measured contents quercetin and kaempferol in most of the samples. Only a specimen of Chinese red mustard from autumn sowing contained more biologically active substances.

It also deals with psychological demands of a person coming into terms with the consequences of an injury or a stroke. In particular, we focus on the coping strategies and adaptation mechanisms. The third chapter of the Practical part is devoted to the quality of life of a specific target group, i.e. of persons that have suffered spinal cord injury. It introduces the factors and specific aspects contributing to the perception of quality of life. It also addresses some of the frequent mistakes and stereotypes in approaches to people with handicap. The fourth chapter focuses on home care and the caretakers. In the Empirical part, we have found out that people who suffered spinal cord injury perceive the lower level of quality of life with regard to health and relationships. We did not find...
Ethical aspects of the process of dying and death
SVOBODOVÁ, Martina
This work deals with the ethical aspects that have influence on the process of death and dying. The question that occurs here is the ethics in patient care at the last moments of life. Death is a phenomenon that has existed since the dawn of time and it is part of the existence in this world. Although death is an integral part of life and it is natural process, not everybody takes it that way. The difference in the perception of death and dying can be found in different religions and ways of life, I have also dealt with this question in the research section. In my work I am primarily analyzing the taboo of death, and how the workers for whom the death is present in their work deal with it and how they see the family's approach to dying of one of its member. In the research part I used the qualitative research. As part of that I used the method of semi-structured interview. The questions were than given to workers in the direct care in the retirement home. I wrote up the collected information using open encoding. The respondents were all women and they were selected in different ways. In the theoretical part, I am dealing with the theological concept of death, the philosophy of death, and for example the traditions and rituals related to dying as well, which begin to fade away over time. I also mention dying at home and dying in institutions. The aim of this work was to find out what the caregiver's attitude is towards the dying. What does the death mean to them, and how they see the problem of institutionalized dying. Another thing was the question of ethical behavior and dealing with the dying. The result of the thesis can be the outline of the process of death and dying in the medical and social institutions. It can also be an inspiration for the behavior in the dying process.

It also addresses some of the frequent mistakes and stereotypes in approaches to people with handicap. In the Empirical part, we have found out that people who suffered spinal cord injury perceive the lower level of quality of life in the area of health and relationships. We did not find statistically significant differences in subjective perception of quality of life depending on the level of handicap, or time that has passed since the injury. As part of...

Data analysis offers mainly information coming from perception of alternative working forms by their users, which means employees, but by provider as well. Emphasis is placed primarily on evaluation of motives which lead into implementing and demanding of flexible work forms and also their advantages and disadvantages. Readers can find in analytic part also profiling of group of employees working in alternative working modes. These profiles are built-up from the view of the character of employees positions and from their individual characteristics as well. It is also...
Correlation of changes in mycorrhizal community and diversity of rare species on abandoned fields
Svobodová, Martina ; Münzbergová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Frouz, Jan (referee)
Economic and social changes of the last 20 years have led to many places to leave a large number of agricultural fields. At present, the efforts to restore species-rich grassland communities in these abandoned agricultural fields. Abandoned fields are seen as potential habitat for endangered species of semi-natural dry grasslands. Currently, a large effort to restore them back to the species-rich dry grasslands. Due to the long-term agricultural practices degrade soil communities and thereby lose their original function in abandoned fields. For the restoration of agricultural areas under cultivation back to the species-rich dry grasslands appear to be a key factor in arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal communities. The negative effect of agricultural practices on AMF communities has serious implications for the diversity and structure of plant communities of abandoned fields. Therefore, the aim of this work understanding the importance of AM fungi for possible restoration of plant communities on abandoned agricultural fields. In this paper we compare two different types of inoculum (grassland, fallow land ) to support the survival and growth of target plant species of dry grasslands on a abandoned field two approaches - sowing and planting. We assumed that the inoculum of species-rich dry grasslands...
