Bakalářská práce se zabývá etickými aspekty ovlivňující proces smrti a umírání. Zde se nabízí otázka etiky v péči o pacienty v posledních chvílích života. Smrt je jev, který se vyskytuje od pradávna, je to součást bytí na tomto světe. Přesto, že je smrt součástí života a jde o přirozený proces, není všemi takto vnímán. Rozdíl ve vnímání umírání a smrti můžeme nalézt v různých náboženstvích a způsobech života, touto otázkou jsem se mimo jiné zabývala i ve výzkumné části. V práci rozebírám především tabuizaci smrti a jak na její účast reagují pracovníci, kteří se se smrtí setkávají ve svém zaměstnání a také jak vnímají přístup rodiny k umírání jejich blízkého. Ve výzkumné části jsem využila kvalitativní výzkum. V rámci toho jsem použila jako metodu polostrukturovaný rozhovor. Následně byly otázky pokládány pracovníkům v přímé péči domova pro seniory. Sesbírané informace jsem zpracovala pomocí otevřeného kódování. Respondenti byli vybíráni různorodě kromě toho, že šlo pouze o ženy. V teoretické části se zabývám teologickým pojetím smrti, filosofií smrtí, ale například také tradicemi a zvyklostmi týkajícími se umírání, které se začínají postupem času vytrácet. Zmiňuji se dále o umírání v domácím prostředí, a naopak o procesu umírání institucionalizovaném. Cílem této práce bylo zjistit, jaký postoj má pečující personál k umírajícím. Co pro ně znamená smrt a případně, jak vidí problém v umírání institucionalizovaném. Dalším mezníkem byla také otázka etického chování a jednání s umírajícím. Výsledkem bakalářské práce může být nastínění procesu smrti a umírání ve zdravotnické a sociální oblasti. Dále může posloužit jako inspirace v chování o umírající. This work deals with the ethical aspects that have influence on the process of death and dying. The question that occurs here is the ethics in patient care at the last moments of life. Death is a phenomenon that has existed since the dawn of time and it is part of the existence in this world. Although death is an integral part of life and it is natural process, not everybody takes it that way. The difference in the perception of death and dying can be found in different religions and ways of life, I have also dealt with this question in the research section. In my work I am primarily analyzing the taboo of death, and how the workers for whom the death is present in their work deal with it and how they see the family's approach to dying of one of its member. In the research part I used the qualitative research. As part of that I used the method of semi-structured interview. The questions were than given to workers in the direct care in the retirement home. I wrote up the collected information using open encoding. The respondents were all women and they were selected in different ways. In the theoretical part, I am dealing with the theological concept of death, the philosophy of death, and for example the traditions and rituals related to dying as well, which begin to fade away over time. I also mention dying at home and dying in institutions. The aim of this work was to find out what the caregiver's attitude is towards the dying. What does the death mean to them, and how they see the problem of institutionalized dying. Another thing was the question of ethical behavior and dealing with the dying. The result of the thesis can be the outline of the process of death and dying in the medical and social institutions. It can also be an inspiration for the behavior in the dying process.
