Evaluation of current company´s information system and change suggestions.
Hájek, Miroslav ; Krejča, Zdeněk (referee) ; Neuwirth, Bernard (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with analysis of existing information system. There are used methods SWOT and HOS 8. Based on the results of these methods are designed the suggestions to improve. The suggestions include a description of optimization and economic evaluation.
Antenna for smart watch
Hájek, Miroslav ; Láčík, Jaroslav (referee) ; Cupal, Miroslav (advisor)
The objective of this work is a create a smart watch antenna, that will operate in two frequency bands. These are GSM (1.8 GHz) and ISM (2.4 GHz) bands. This antenna must be able to work when be placed on an elastic material that is used as a smart watch belt. Antennas options are analyzed and their suitability for given use. There is also an antenna model in CST microwave studio, where all the simulations were made. The antenna is also simulated on human hand models that have different dimensions and tissue ratios.
Antiproliferative, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of quinones, terpenoids and their derivatives
Přibylová, Marie ; Vaněk, Tomáš (advisor) ; Smrček, Stanislav (referee) ; Hájek, Miroslav (referee)
Plant compounds play an important role in human medicine. They are a source of new drugs or serve as an inspiration for drugs' development. This thesis presents a study about syntheses of derivatives and biological activities of two groups of natural products, quinones and terpenoids. Terpenoids are plant secondary metabolites which are known for their antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumoral activities. We have focused on two representatives, paclitaxel and carvacrol. GnRH-paclitaxel anti-tumor conjugates potentially suitable for targeted delivery to cancer cells were prepared. Their antiproliferative activities in vitro were evaluated on MCF-7 cancer cell line and cytotoxicity in rat hepatocytes. Carvacrol and its derivative were tested for its possible anti- inflammatory effect, which was assessed in vitro as their potential to inhibit prostaglandin E2 biosynthesis via cyclooxygenase pathway. Quinones, other targets of the thesis, are well-known for biological activities similar to terpenoids. Thymoquinone, juglone and their derivatives were tested in vitro as inhibitors of cyclooxygenases and 5-lipoxygenase. Derivatives of juglone were prepared to help us to suggest structure-activity relationship of this compound. Thymoquinone and its derivatives were evaluated for their antioxidant capacity...
The role of microRNAs in chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Moravec, Martin ; Hájek, Miroslav (advisor) ; Macůrková, Marie (referee)
2 Abstract MicroRNAs (miRs, miRNAs) are recently discovered molecules (19-25 nucleotides long) that regulate gene expression at post-transcriptional level by either blocking protein synthesis or mRNA degradation. As a part of gene silencing mechanism, miRNAs are involved in cellular processes, such as apoptosis, cell proliferation, development and viral defence. miRNAs have been intensely studied in connection to disease pathogenesis. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common leukemia in Western countries affecting mostly elderly people. In my work I focus on explanation of miRNA functions and their contributions to chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). I describe previously published data about miRNA-15, miRNA-16, miRNA-143, miRNA-145 and miRNA-155 in connection to this disease. Based on recent reports, I also discuss the potential role of miRNA-326 in CLL pathogenesis.
Modulation of human telomerase activity by nucleoside and nucleotide analogues
Hájek, Miroslav ; Votruba, Ivan (advisor) ; Fajkus, Jiří (referee) ; Hejnar, Jiří (referee)
CONCLUSIONS Considering human telomerase as a promising target of anti-cancer therapy, the thesis deals with the study of inhibitory potency of selected ANP diphosphates towards telomerase, and the capability of nucleoside-type DNA methylation inhibitors to inhibit hTERT expression, knowing that hTERT expression closely correlates with telomerase activity in vitro and in vivo. The results can be summarized as follows: All the purine ANP diphosphates except for (S)-PMPApp and 6-Me2PMEDAPpp show dose- dependent inhibition of human telomerase in cell-free assay, the adenine derivatives are less effective inhibitors than the guanine derivatives. The only two pyrimidine ANP diphosphates tested (PMECpp and PMETpp) do not show any significant inhibitory potency towards telomerase. Activity of tested ANPs on telomerase is limited to their diphosphates (ANPpp) only. (R)-enantiomers are more inhibitory compared to (S)-enantiomers. This indicates that absolute configuration plays an important role in the telomerase inhibition and that the enzyme distinguishes between the (R)- and (S)-enantiomers. PMEGpp is the most potent human telomerase inhibitor among all ANPs studied with the IC50 value of 12.7 ± 0.5 mol.l-1 at 125 M dNTPs. Its inhibitory potency towards telomerase is comparable to that of ddGTP (IC50...
Vliv monotónní činnosti na vybrané fyziologické funkce operátorů lesnických harvestorů
Hájek, Miroslav
The characteristic feature of today's human is the ability to produce complex tools and then use them to influence their surroundings for their own benefit. Thus man constantly influences his surroundings by the activity of the world, and the energy that he makes from himself, he returns sooner or later in a different form. They are very often negative influences affecting his or her mental and health condition, which derives from the correct or gradually worsening human physiology. In this bachelor thesis, we will not only deal with selected physiological functions without which we would not survive for a long period of time, but also with the impact on these functions of monotony, which is a frequent problem of many of today's professions. In this case, we will deal with the harvester operator post.
