Gender roles in fairy tales
Lechnýřová, Lucie ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Francová, Veronika (referee)
Fairy tales have an educational and socialization impact on children. In fairy tales children find answers to questions, problems and situations, that life brings them. Fairy tales reflect true life - people come into the world, fall ill, die, get poorer, steal, get jealous, love and hate to death and they are willing to lay down their life for helping others. A child feels genuineness of story, finds something what it had experienced itself. Children identify themselves with fairy tale characters and their characteristics, heroes of stories are their models. So naturally children create their hierarchy of values, because moral message of fairy tales is clear and that is its advantage for children. Fairy tales interfere in all aspects of life and education. One of the aspects is the area of gender. In my research I presented the children a traditional fairy tale and less traditional fairy tale, where male and female roles are reversed. The aim of the research was to find out how boys and girls perceive the division of roles in fairy tales. I led structured interviews with children and compared the collected data with the gathered theoretical information.

The results of both methods I mutually compared and created insight into the relationships of adolescents in DDŠ Měcholupy. Marková, Adéla ; Mudrák, Jiří (advisor) ; Francová, Veronika (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of gifted children in the classroom environment. The main general topic of my thesis is: What is it like to be a gifted child among other children in the classroom? The topics of research to which I sought answers are as follows: 1. How do the closest people around the gifted child participate in developing its talents in the context of the classroom? 2. How are gifted children perceived by their parents and teachers and how it influences their position among their peers and also how it affects their educational process?. 3. What kind of relationships do the extraordinarily talented children have with their classroom peers and their teacher? In the theoretical part of the thesis a basic overview of current research of giftedness in children and its development is summarized. Much attention is devoted to social factors that have an influence on the talent development. In accordance with Mönks (1993) I determined family, age-peer group, and school environment to be those factors. The practical part of the thesis is carried out as a qualitative multi-case study with three gifted children, their mothers and their teachers. The data collection was done through semi-structured conversations. The obtained data was subsequently analyzed using categorization and...

Čermák, Zdeněk ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Francová, Veronika (referee)
This paper is concerned with the issue of men working as male nurses (common attendant) in relation to their working group. I'm introducing three different points of view in the theoretical part, how can this issue be seen. First of them, the nursing view (leagal definition of profession), second one is the psychological view (the field of professional identity and its involving factors) and the third view is a social-psychological view (gender and its meaning for nursing profession). In the empiric part I'm presenting two case studies of common attendants, which results mainly from semistructured interviews with common attendants, their subordinate, superiors and sociometric important persons. Data gained from the interviews were consequently completed with data from sociometrie and observation. Key words: nursing, identity, working group, nurse, gender

Kubín, Daniel ; Štech, Stanislav (advisor) ; Francová, Veronika (referee)
Annotation: Since your birth you have learnt a number of facts. Recall them. What would you still like to learn? Three times since 1992 these questions dealing with attitude to cognition were put to students of the eight grade of three selected Prague schools; the students were asked to prepare written answers to the above questions using an arbitrary literary form. The result processed for investigation is called accounts of knowledge. The technique was first applied in 1992 by Bernard Charlot who used it to investigate attitude to cognition of students from various social classes. In 1992 the Prague Classroom Ethnography Group was the first to undertake a quantitative analysis using accounts of knowledge in the Czech Republic; it identified the fundamental structure of students' attitude to cognition and the role played therein by learning including school learning. In 2002 the research was repeated in the same schools as before. The submitted work repeated the original research. Accounts of knowledge of 117 students of three primary schools in urban district Prague 3 were investigated using the method of content analysis of balances and applying the statistical method to determine the significance of differences between the expected and empirical frequency of occurrence of items in individual areas and...

The Structure of the Authority of the Teacher in Communication with Pupils
Francová, Veronika ; Rendl, Miroslav (advisor) ; Pavelková, Isabella (referee)
The goal of the thesis is to clarify a problem of what we call Teachers' authority. In Czech language the term "Authority" is usually used in the meaning of power or respect the teacher has among pupils. In general we can say that the meaning of the term is rather indefinite. This thesis mainly focuses on the form of communication between teacher and class. Therefore the authority is regarded as the result of organization of competencies, bounds and relations in the area of teacher-pupils contact. The teacher-pupil interaction is considered as a system in all the meanings of this term. Through the teacher-pupils' interaction the communication circle is formed. Every single connection of the class with a teacher creates a unique and compact communication circle where the communication rules are discussed. In this thesis, authority is rather regarded as the mutual negotiation resulting in the final (but still changing) organization of rules and relations within the communication circle. The thesis consists of presentation of the basic theoretical sources, the analysis of the field survey data and discussion about the conclusions. It explores the communication between teacher and class in the eighth class of elementary school. I visited one class - collaborating with three teachers - within one school-year....
