Automatické čištění HTML dokumentů
Marek, Michal ; Pecina, Pavel (advisor) ; Straňák, Pavel (referee)
This paper describes a system for automatic cleaning of HTML documents, which was used in the participation of the Charles University in CLEANEVAL 2007. CLEANEVAL is a shared task and competitive evaluation of automatic systems for cleaning arbitrary web pages with the goal of preparing web data for use as a corpus in the area of computational linguistics and natural language processing. We try to solve this task as a sequence-labeling problem and our experimental system is based on Conditional Random Fields exploiting a set of features extracted from textual content and HTML structure of analyzed web pages for each block of text.

The presented methodology represents an improvement of the currently used system of wildfire monitoring and forecast. Based on extensive testing, it defines two fire weather indices. The method shows how the combination of both indices can lead to robust fire risk estimates. Both indices were uset to generate a forecast of fire weather, but also to quantify th erelationship between the frequency of favorable conditions for the occurrence of natural fires and their observed numbers, in several time steps (from 1 day to the entire season) The methodology has been implemented within the www. firerisk.cz portal, where it serves as a tool for operational fire risk forecasting. The text of the methodology therefore contains instructions for using the menthodology therefore contains instructions for using the firerick.cz portal. Great attention is paid in the methodology to the aspect of climate change and estimating the impact of this phenomenon on the frequency of wildfires in the Czech republic.
Vývoj a analýza kombinovaného vrstveného materiálu
Marek, Michal
The diploma work is focused on the development and analysis of plywood material reinforced by means of synthetic fibers, namely on its mechanical properties in a three – point bend in compliance with the CSN EN 310 Standard in comparison with the conventional plywood. At first, the mechanical properties of the material were simulated with the aid of a computer-aided model on the basis of the classical laminate theory and then compared to the real measured values. In addition to it, the influence of preloaded fibers on the mechanical properties of the composite was examined. To preload the fibers, two simple fixtures were manufactured. The analysis of variance and the Tukey’s test of multiple comparison demonstrated important differences in the resistance and rigidity of the plywood material both with the reinforcement and without it. The highest resistance proved the plywood samples without any reinforcement (at an average of 153.9 MPa), the highest rigidity was achieved in samples with reinforcement without any preloading (at an average of 29374.4 MPa).
2017 Czech Govenment Crisis in Czech Daily Newspapers
Marek, Michal ; Křeček, Jan (advisor) ; Nečas, Vlastimil (referee)
This master thesis is focused on evaluating media content connected with 2017 government crisis and the influence of media ownership on that media content. The thesis analyses five major daily newspapers. Two of them were owned by Andrej Babiš, one of the two main characters of the crisis, before he put them into the trust fund. The content is analysed by quantitative metrics which are further interpreted. The result of the analysis is, that the influence of media ownership can be observed. MF Dnes and Lidovky are overall more critical to Bohuslav Sobotka than to Babiš meanwhile for example Denik is much more critical to Babiš.
Carbon-smart forestry for building resilience to global change
Brnkalakova, S. ; Kluvánková, T. ; Marek, Michal V.
The specific role of mountain ecosystems in the carbon cycle and their importance as carbon sinks already\nhas been noted within the broader debate about climate change. There has been progress in designing\nand attempts towards implementing such mountain-specific strategies as green economies, global and regional\nconventions, frameworks, and institutions. There is still need, however, for new and integrative approaches\nto governing mountains in a sustainable and adaptive way with local and global contributions.\nThe proper institutional arrangement, adaptive forest management, and sustainable use of forest ecosystems\ncan make a substantial contribution to the well-being of local communities as well as contribute to\nmitigating global climate change by provisioning of carbon sequestration ecosystem service. This paper\nexamines how reconfiguration of social practice in forest-dependent communities can address urgent societal\nchallenges. In particular, it considers the potential of a common pool resource regime for governance\nand carbon-smart forestry in innovative management of mountain ecosystems to meet societal and natural\nchallenges.
Vliv pozice po poloměru kmene na přirozenou trvanlivost dřeva dubu
Marek, Michal
The Bachelor thesis is focused on the natural durability of oak tree wood and its variability on the tree trunk radius. The durability was defined as a percentual loss of mass after a fungal attack by the white-decay fungus polypore mushroom (Trametes versicolor) in comparison to the original condition. In addition to the durability itself, its dependence on the wood colour was examined. In the theoretical section, the wood durability problems are described as well as its variability and the characteristics of the English brown oak (Quercus robur). The second part of the thesis contains the statistical evaluation of the measured values
Reinsurance Treaty from the perspective of Reinsurer
Marek, Michal ; Ducháčková, Eva (advisor) ; Daňhel, Jaroslav (referee)
Main goal of the bachelor thesis is to provide the reader with easily actionable insights to the fundamental elements of obligatory reinsurance treaty. Author tries to enlight the core of each item, which has to be agreed on. Acomplishment of the main goal is supported with few partial goals. Primarly show all in the most practical way and give basic concepts. The result is to make the reader aware of chosen situations and draw up comprehensive list of exclusions. In teoretical part is used mainly abstraction. Generalizing abstraction in majority acompanied with izolational abstraction. Author's result is giving examples on an idealized observations. Researched field are essential elements of reinsurance.
