The Livonian state and Moscow Russia in the end of the 15th and beginning of the 16th centuries

The presented diploma work The Livonian state and Moscow Russia in the end oj the 15th and beginning oj 16th centuries is devoted to the diplomatic relations between Livonia and Moscow Russia in the years 1471-1505. In this years was closed integration of Russian countries under rule of the great princ of Moscow. After the connection Great Novgorod's to the Moscow Russia in the year 1478 was changed into direckt neighbour of Livonia the strong Russian state. From this year was diplomatic and military superiority on the side of Russian state. Livonia was not enjoying equal rights diplomatic partner of Moscow sovereign. This situation continued until extinction of Livonia in the beginning of Livonian war.

The application of language law and language policy in the protection of minorities in Germany. Exemplified by the dispute of the Wendish municipalities Crostwitz and Radibor with the state of Saxony in the years 2001-2006

This master thesis deals with the apphcation of language law and language policy in the protection of minorities in Germany. In the conclusive case study the dispute of the Wendish Municipalities Crostwitz and Radibor with the State Saxony between 2001 - 2006 is analysed. The minority language protection in Germany cannot be understood properly without setting it in the broader intemational and European minority protection :framework. Intemational treaties and soft law of UNO, OSCE, Council of Europe and European Union create a complex system of protection. Particularly the European Charter for Regional and Minority Languages by Council of Europe meant a breakthrough in minority protection. The Federal Republic of Germany recognises as minority languages on its territory Danish, Frisian, Romani, Sorbian, and Low German as a regional language. The thesis analyses the legal and institutional anchorage of the minority language rights in Germany. Essential for the vitality of a language is the socio - economic situation of its speakers. Many minority languages are used in economically weak regions and are threatened by a reflux of the speakers. Thomas Brussig and the literature of the time of change ("Wendezeit")

Cílem mé diplomové práce bylo charakterizovat dílo spisovatele Thomase Brussiga. Analyzovala jsem autorovu prózu vzniklou v rozmezí let 1989-1995, a to nejen v souvislosti s jeho životem, ale také v kontextu doby, v níž díla vznikla. Historické pozadí se jeví pro Brussigovu tvorbu jako zásadní a pochopení některých dobových souvislostí je základním předpokladem pro pochopení celého autorova díla. Doba je totiž nejen pozadím popisovaných příběhů - její kritika, ba dokonce pouhá charakteristika se stávají tématem Brussigových knih. Pro literární vědu je zajímavým příkladem zúčtování s kontroverzní spisovatelkou Christou Wolfovou, jejíž povídka Was bleibt1 vyvolala bouřlivé reakce osobností německé kulturní sféry. V románu Helden wie l-Fir 2 Brussig tuto autorku podrobuje zdrcující kritice, a to kritice sice ne vždy zcela přímé, ale přesto naprosto jednoznačné. Ve snaze o zachycení důvodů a okolností, které s touto kritikou souvisejí, jsem do své práce zařadila stručnou charakteristiku literárních a historických diskuzí, jež jsou důkazem neklidné atmosféry postsocialistického Německa, stejně jako Německa znovusjednoceného. Důležitou součástí teoretické části práce je přehled některých děl, která vznikla po roce 1989 a která dokumentují vývoj prózy, poezie a dramatu v době politických změn. Pokouším se...

The American Frontier existed for several hundred years. Beginning with the arrival of the first explorers at the end of the fifteenth century, pioneering became the trademark of the New World. After the appearance of the first settlers on the eastern seaboard, and during the later exploits into the wilderness that awaited in the interior of the New World, pioneers had to face challenges posed by nature and the unfamiliar environment inhabited by native tribes. In the nineteenth century, the Frontier gained a new significance, as it was pushed ever westward with the incessant march of pioneers over the continent; until in 1890 it was declared by the Bureau of the Census that "at present the unsettled area has been so broken into by isolated bodies of settlement that there can hardly be said to be a frontier line."r Thus the Frontier was closed. Precisely the time of the nineteenth century when the trickle of westering emigrants changed into a stream of people flooding across the Great Plains into the trans-Mississippi West, roughly from 1840 to 1880, is of interest when discussing the emergence of permanent settlements and communities in the West. Linguistic and encyclopedic information in terminological translation dictionary

Dictionaries of scientific terms bring knowledge about LSP (Ianguage for special purpose). The knowledge of every lexical unit can be divided into the linguistic and encyclopedic part of knowledge, although the border is unclear, especially where the semantic linguistic information implies encyclopedic information as weil. The presentation of information and their range depends on the dictionary users, their specific needs and on dictionary situations. The German-Czech Dictionary of Astronomical Terms is a LSP dictionary. It contains basic terms of the astronomy science and is intended for laymen, students and readers of popular science texts and easier LSP literature. About each lemma it provides linguistic as weil as encyclopedic information in the form of a dictionary article with an extensive macrostructure.

Autorka tak netradicnim zpusobem zasahuje do literamiho dila, eoz se zda bYt v rozporu s nekterymi modemimi literamevednymi teoriemi zabyvajicimi se funkci autora. Finnish surnames ending in -heimo, origin and distribution

Záměrem této práce je představit finskojazyčná příjmení končící na -heimo. Heimo znamená česky kmen, skupinu lidí stejného původu, -heimo příjmení tak mají v sobě jistý symbol národní hrdosti, vyjadřují vztah ke skupině a silnou identitu. Jejich vznik a popularita jsou úzce spojeny s důležitými vlasteneckými projevy ve Finsku, jakými bylo například národní obrození či sté výročí vydání národního eposu Kalevala. Jejich význam a možný motiv výběru zkoumám v hlavní analýze (kapitola 3.2), v níž porovnávám jednotlivé páry starých a nových příjmení. Konkrétními motivy změny jména se však v této práci zabývat nebudu.
