Evaluation of visual functions after laser correction of ammetropia
Kyprianou, Georgia ; Langrová, Hana (advisor) ; Baráková, Drahomíra (referee) ; Těšínský, Pavel (referee)
Summary: Evaluation of visual functions after laser correction of ammetropia 1. We evaluated the quality of vision of 55 pacients (110 eyes) with myopia from - 0,5 dpt to -6,00 dpt after laser correction with PRK and LASIK. We compaired the results between group A after laser correction with the excimer laser Esiris (Schwind, Germany) and group B after correction with Amaris (Schwind, Germany). We investigated subjective visual perception, standardized visual acuity and contrast sensitivity under photopic and mesopic conditions as well as glare sensitivity at 1, 3, 12 and 24 months postoperatively. 2. Subjective perception: One month after the procedure, there were significant differences in questions concerning the overall visual quality, while watching TV and driving during the day and at night, with group B patients significantly more satisfied. Twelve months after the procedure, 100% of the patients of both groups were satisfied with their quality of vision. 3. Visual acuity: In group A, photopic and mesopic visual acuity significantly decreased 1 month after the procedure and then increased and differed only insignificantly from the preoperative values. In group B, photopic and mesopic visual acuity was changing insignificantly upto 3 months after the procedure and then increased significantly to...
Transformations and trends in the case law of the court of justice of the EU in the field of the internal market after 2004
Petrlík, David ; Tomášek, Michal (advisor) ; Smolek, Martin (referee) ; Mazák, Ján (referee)
There have been three main sets of trends in the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union in the field of the internal market after 2004. The first set of trends concerned the criteria of legal analysis, i.e. the scope of EU rules on free movement, the concept of the restriction of free movement and the justification of such restrictions. The second set of trends in the case law is related to the fact that the Court completes its legal analysis by considerations linked to its value orientation of the Court, i.e. its liberalism, social tendencies, protection of fundamental rights, pragmatism and proactivity. The third trend in the case law of the internal market consisted in changing the focus of case law in the sense that the Court has begun to deal with more and more cases from sectoral fields, i.e. fields covered by secondary law.

PhDr. Pavla Zajícová, Ph.D. Abstract The following thesis deals with chosen aspects of teaching seniors at universities of the third age (U3A) and specific aspects of teaching foreign languages to seniors at U3As. The thesis focuses on the ambiguity of the term "senior" and discuses existence or nonexistence of an independent scientific discipline dealing with education of seniors. The thesis characterizes chosen institutions of education of seniors and chosen specific aspects of this process. In the empirical part the thesis compares four case studies of education of seniors and teaching foreign languages to seniors at: 1) U3A in Malta, 2) U3As in Scotland, 3) U3As in the Czech Republic and 4) at the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem U3A. The aim of the thesis is to present a more complex insight to the above described problem which is a complicated and interdisciplinary topic, not much described in an expert literature....
Transfer of undertaking and collective dismissals in a European perspective
Randlová, Nataša ; Bělina, Miroslav (advisor) ; Hůrka, Petr (referee) ; Bognárová, Věra (referee)
In her PhD thesis, the author deals with the legal regulation of transfer of undertaking (and the passage of the employees' rights and obligations it involves) and the frequent collective redundancy related to such transfers. Both sets of provisions dealing with these topics are embodied in the Czech Labour Code and are harmonised with the EU directives pertaining to these fields, specifically Council Directive 2001/23/EC of 12 March 2001 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the safeguarding of employees' rights in the event of transfers of undertakings, businesses or parts of undertakings or businesses (originally, Council Directive 77/187/EEC of 14 February 1977 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the safeguarding of employees' rights in the event of transfers of undertakings, businesses or parts of businesses) and Council Directive 98/59/EC of 20 July 1998 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to collective redundancies. The two directives mentioned above were already transposed to the Czech Labour Code in 2001 by means of an amendment adopted under No. 155/2001 Coll. As regards the rules governing collective redundancies, it can be stated, in substance, that the original regulation of 2001 remained unchanged and...
Essays on the International Transmission on Business Cycles
Lamazoshvili, Beka ; Kejak, Michal (advisor) ; Kraft, Evan (referee) ; Campolmi, Alessia (referee)
Beka Lamazoshvili - Dissertation Common Abstract Abstract This dissertation studies different aspects of the transmission of international business cycles across countries. It consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, we study the role of trade in consumer durable goods and capital goods in the context of a two-country New Keynesian (NK) dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) model. Our benchmark model, calibrated for the U.S. and its trading partners, is able to account for the high volatility and positive correlation of exports and imports observed in the data and discussed in the literature (Engel and Wang, 2011; Erceg, Guerrieri and Gust, 2008). Moreover, it can also match the conventional interest rate channel that is a centerpiece of the NK framework. We compare our baseline model with alternative two-country NK models with and without consumer durable goods and capital goods. Our simulations show that our benchmark model performs better in the international dimension than the comparison models. In a version of the benchmark model with flexible prices, we found only a limited role of consumer durable goods. However, the presence of a nominal sector and price rigidities make consumer durable goods more important for the international dimension of the model. We also discuss plausible...

SOUHRN Modifikace léčby progredujícího keratokonu zesíťováním kolagenu rohovky pomocí riboflavinu a UVA záření. Úvod: Cílem mé práce je porovnání modifikace léčby progredujícího keratokonu zesíťováním kolagenu rohovky pomocí riboflavinu a UVA záření. Metodika: Soubor retrospektivní studie zahrnuje celkem 35 očí 28 pacientů, kteří podstoupili na našem pracovišti corneal cross-linking. Soubor tvoří dvě skupiny. Skupina A zahrnuje 15 očí s abrazí epitelu rohovky v dolní polovině velikosti 8 mm.
Editing, validation, standardization and preparation for publication of electronic version of an screening diagnostic questionnaire DACH
Šporclová, Veronika ; Niederlová, Markéta (advisor) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee) ; Thorová, Kateřina (referee)
The questionnaire DACH was created within the pilot survey of the dissertation project of PhDr. Kateřina Thorová, Ph.D. Since it was put into practice, the questionnaire has become a relatively common tool used in the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders. The theoretical section of my dissertation introduces the reader to the wider context of Autism Spectrum Disorders - from ethiology to treatment (therapy). The empirical section then focuses on editing, validation and standardization of the DACH questionnaire created by Thorová. Empirical testing of the DACH was conducted on a sample of 240 people. Statistical analysis of the collected data demonstrated a relatively high level of reliability, sensitivity and specificity of the method, along with a high predictive value of positive results. The correlation between the questionnaire results and the results of the diagnostic assessment with the use of the methods of the "golden standard" for autism was lower, but can be considered as satisfactory. The main goal of my dissertation is to develop a standardized Czech method for screening early symptoms of autism in children. For wider access of the practical applications of this project, an electronic version of the DACH questionnaire is available, including scoring and general recommendations. The...
The mathematical theory of perturbations in cosmology
Novák, Jan ; Pravda, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Chopovsky, A. (referee) ; Scholtz, Martin (referee)
We deal with cosmological perturbation theory in my work. We investigate General Theory of Relativity in Higher Dimensions in the Chapter 1. I mention GHP-formalism and algebraical classification of spacetimes. I use spinors to show that spacetimes of dimension 4 are special. I discuss also Kundt spacetimes, which are interesting for perturbation theory of black holes. I work with perturbations of FLRW ST's in GHP formalism in Chapter 2, which we want to use in Cosmological Inflation. The final part of my thesis is connected with scalar perturbations in f(R)-cosmologies, that can be used for explaining accelerated expansion in the last 5 billion years. I investigate the Universe at the scales of 150 Mpc, where I could not use the hydrodynamical approach. Thus I work with the generalization of the Landau's mechanical approach. I need quasi-static approximation for getting the potentials Φ and Ψ, since the equations are too complicated for direct integration. I plan to use the result also for numerical simulation of motions of dwarf galaxies in these potentials. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Telecommunications regulation
Selby, Alice ; Pomahač, Richard (advisor) ; Pítrová, Lenka (referee) ; Bejček, Josef (referee)
The content of my work has been chosen on the basis that I have spent most of my career working as a regulatory lawyer in telecommunications. I started my career as a lawyer at the Czech Telecommunications Office and after few years I moved to the Ministry of Transport, which was then also responsible for telecommunications, and its strategy and legislation. Finally I joined Radiomobil (now T-Mobile Czech Republic) where I have spent 15 years to date. The development of technologies in the last 20 years is without a doubt fascinating. It is exciting to observe the sector regulation trying to catch up with the fast moving technological developments, and often aiming at attempting to regulate what cannot be regulated. At the same time we can witness the overregulated European telecommunications market gasping for air in comparison with other regions as it becomes less and less attractive to investments and investors, which is evidenced by the major European companies leaving the European markets and moving their activities into the less regulated regions of the world. A direct consequence of that is the consolidation of the European telecommunications markets. At the same time there are very high expectations on the part of both regulatory bodies and customers in the field of broadband development...
Czech Minister-Countryman in the Cisleithanian government
Klečacký, Martin ; Velek, Luboš (advisor) ; Galandauer, Jan (referee) ; Vyskočil, Aleš (referee)
Martin Klečacký Dissertation thesis: Czech Minister Countryman in the Cisleithanian government (Český ministr krajan v předlitavské vládě) Abstract The central topic of the doctoral thesis is the position of the Czech minister countryman (minister without portfolio) in the framework of the Cisleithanian state administration. The first part of the paper deals with the establishment of the minister's office and analyses his competencies; furthermore it pursues the selection process of ministers and their ministerial activities, the constitution of their office and cooperation of the Czech minister with Czech parliamentary circles in the Imperial Council (Reichsrat) in Vienna. An important task of the new bureau was the protection of the Czech national interests, which also included appointments of officials of Czech nationality to leading positions of the state apparatus. The methods of the minister and his cooperation with the Young Czech Party to promote reliable and proven Czech bureaucrats to powerful and influential positions are dealt with in three following chapters. Firstly, on the level of the Crown Land, exemplified by the Governor's Office, Land School Board and Land Financial Administration in Prague, secondly, on the imperial level as in the Ministry of Commerce, and lastly, on the municipal...
