Football Recycling
Raabová, Viktorie ; Jemelka, Vojtěch (referee) ; Sedlák, Jaroslav (advisor)
In the centre of the city, near Lužánky, there is a strange brownfield that represents an interesting mix of past and present. This place has been the target of many plans and visions, but their fate has been different. Some have come to fruition, others have remained on paper, waiting for their chance. Different people have been involved in the creation of this complex space, coming and going over time, creating a distinct entity with many faces. Here you will find a luxury hotel, abandoned sports venues from the past and tennis courts still attracting sports enthusiasts. All this is complemented by a vast car park that seems to be a kind of inhospitable oasis in the middle of the city's concrete. But behind this urban kaleidoscope lies Planýrka, a special piece of nature in the heart of the city. Only the beaten paths and untrodden greenery here testify to a life that takes place beyond the reach of human hands, a life according to its own rules.

Workers‘ Housing of 21st Century
Ordeltová, Kristýna ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of small-scale urban housing in a 21st century context. However, the aim was not to forget the industrial heritage of mining and metallurgical Ostrava. Most of this heritage includes a few buildings such as huge halls or mining towers, but small houses and dwellings at the other end of the scale are undoubtedly a true reflection of the period. Just as miners and metallurgists lived beneath the towers and chimneys of factories at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, I have also chosen a location for my dwelling in this work. The Petr Bezruč mine has been partially reclaimed and awaits its future use. I propose a residential district of 9 buildings offering different typologies and standards. It includes a complex urban design of outdoor spaces, their use and degree of privacy. The central motif of the proposal is also the „sokolovna“ - a reconversion of the workshop hall, which will serve as a leisure space for local residents. An industrial nature trail also runs through the area, helping to integrate the island below the mining tower into the context of the town.
A new life for the factory = a new life for Portlaw
Kvášová, Lucie ; Plášil, Jiří (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the reconversion of the former tannery site in Portlaw, Ireland, with a history dating back to the 19th century. Situated in close proximity to the town center, the facility holds significant potential for further utilization. Following its closure, the site remained neglected for a considerable period, now perceived with mixed feelings – as a place with a rich industrial heritage of which Portlaw residents are proud, yet also as a location bearing the negative impacts of past industrial activities on the environment. Strategically located in the valley along the Clodiagh River, the site was established with a canal for water transportation. Its position along the city's gateway enables seamless integration into the urban fabric. Its secluded nature shields it from the eyes of city dwellers, minimizing disruptions to the surrounding environment, making it an ideal venue for activities even with higher levels of noise and lighting. The objective of the proposal is to revive the site and its "genius loci," aiming to achieve a high level of destination attractiveness for both Waterford County residents and tourists. The plan entails the creation of a multifunctional space, new public areas, and greenery cultivation, positively influencing the overall character of the area. The reconversion plan introduces diverse functions, transforming the site into a vibrant and adaptable hub for local residents and visitors alike.
TRANSFORMATION OF THE FORMER BARRACS IN HODONÍN
Hoffová, Monika ; Veselý, Josef (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
The object of this thesis is an urbanistic study called Transformation of former barracks in Hodonin. Urbanistic study involves not only urbanistic solution of the barracks area, but also examines the potencial of the city expansion in this locality. Study is focused on realistic model of finishing the city structure and proposal of public spaces in surroundings of historical barracks buildings. Although the city tried to connect this territory back to the city structure and not to limit it’s natural development - the area turned into chaos by selling out lands around the barracks. Not only urbanism is the problem here. Buildings, that would deserve the attention, suffer. The historic barracks are the next object in this thesis. In detailed architectural study is their transformation, which considers historical, constructial, economical and social potencial of these buildings. Reconstruction respects mass and historical value of buildings.
RECONSTRUCTION AND REBUILDING OF CITY BREWERY IN VYŠKOV
Handl, Dominik ; Zemánek, Václav (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the former bishop's premises of the brewery in Vyškov. The location is directly linked to the historic center. Plot with great development potential. The design creates narrow, intimate alleys in a traditional concept, linking large sunlit gardens together. It creates a contrasting connection that combines tradition with brand new features. Missing features are complemented by the alleys in this case. It also completes the background behind already existing functions. Historic landmarks are not influenced by the extension. The gradual increase of matter creates accents that historically valuable objects take on. The brewery's pre-space was cleared of parking areas and was completed with a green pass. The parking areas were raised and moved away from the direct sight. Overall, the area opens and connects all of the southeast of Vyškov with the southwest.

The project is dealing with building of a new Faculty of Architecture at BUT. The target area is located on one of the BUT campuses between Údolní, Úvoz and Tvrdého streets. The concept of the new Faculty of Architecture is based on a relationship between teachers and students. The specificity of the architectural studio education is historically referring to beaux art academies. The atelier is a community space where students learn from their "master", but above all from each other. The project addresses the relationship between student´s and teacher´s spaces, which meet in the central "factory" hall, connecting the two worlds.
