Caspar David Friedrich, The motif of figure at the window, its genesis and evolution.

The thesis deals with the life and work of Caspar David Friedrich (1774 - 1840) who is considered one of the most important painters and drawers of the German romanticism. His main contribution for painting was the creation of pictures with subjective, later also politically motivated symbolism. The themes of his works in particular included the nature where persons often stand and watch the landscape in distance. The first chapter provides information on the personality and work of the painter who created a new style of landscaping. In nature he discovered the spiritual element that he connected with the picture. The work then describes the influences of the romantic literary movement and religion on his work. The second chapter presents a female figure turned with her back to the viewer in a painting called Woman by the Window from 1822. Various interpretations of art historians connected especially with romanticising visions of individuality and infinity are presented. The origin and development of the female figure turned with her back to the viewer in painting from prehistoric times up to the 20th century is also outlined. The phenomenon of a window in art is explained in the third chapter. A window in interior and a view from a window is also demonstrated as a mean of expression of an artist....

The Upholstery Firm Emil Gerstel Prague and Collaboration with Architects

The purpose of this thesis is to gather information on the furniture firm Emil Gerstel Prague in connection with collaborations with architects as interior designers. Emil Gerstel was in charge of the firm Before the First World War, in that period furniture influenced by Viennese geometric secession and by historicist tendencies was produced. A collaboration with the architect Joseph Maria Olbrich in that time is also mentioned. The firm was purveyor to the Viennese court. Around 1930 under the direction of Bedřich Gerstel was the firm on its peak. This period comprises the works on furnishing of the interior of the Otto Petschek 's villa in the Neo-rococo style, the collaboration with Adolf Loos and Heinrich Kulka on furnishing of the villa Müller and on furnishing of the family Semler 's apartment in Plzeň. Vladimír Grégr was the author of the Václav Maria Havel's apartment, his designs were influenced by organic functionalism. Most of the Gerstel's customers came from wealthy families, their property was after the Second Wold War nationalized. Proposal to improve the marketing mix of the company

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analyzing of the marketing mix of a company that specializes in the production of custom-made furniture. In the first part are explained basic theoretical concepts from the field of marketing. In the second part is anylyzing the current state of the company's marketing mix based on the analysis of the current state, the third part of this thesis makes suggestions for improving the marketing mix.

This bachelor thesis investigates the effect of 3D printing on the modification of vehicle interiors and exteriors, especially on older models. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the history of 3D printing, the classification of printers according to materials and printing technologies. It also deals with the types of materials used in 3D printing, the basic components of a 3D printer and its use in transportation. The practical part of the thesis deals with the design of a multifunctional charging station and the specific implementation in a vehicle, including the selection of a suitable location. It also describes the creation and detailed drawing of a 3D model divided into four parts: the bottom part, the top part, the electronics hold and the wireless charging hold. It defines the electronics used, wiring diagrams and wiring. The final section is the 3D printing process and subsequent assembly of the device.

Vertical green walls

ABSTRACT The concepts of vertical gardens, vertical walls, green walls, living walls or green faca-des can be referred to as vertical plantations for planting the walls or columns of various objects. They are defined under the name of vertically situated plant plantings, which, according to the used plant taxa, can be applied both indoors and outdoors. Contemporary architecture is increasingly looking for ways to return greenery to human settlements, and vertical gardens are one of the solutions that can respond to the lack of free space for greenery, especially when solving development within settlements and return at least part of nature to the interior of cities and municipalities. Last but not least, the system solutions of vertical gardens for the creation of vegetation vertical walls in the interior and on the facades of buildings offer the possibility of making vari-ous and architecturally interesting areas, permanently overgrown with vegetation. The dissertation deals with the topic of greening facades, especially using systems not associated with open ground - the so-called vertical gardens. Since the knowledge on this issue is still poorly documented and the implementation of green facades of the-se systems in our country is not much, based on these facts, I decided to create my own real model of the facade system of vertical vegetation walls in the climatic conditions of the Czech Republic with local taxa. plants. In the initial phase of the work, an analysis of the available green wall systems is performed and a planar panel of the vertical green wall is designed. In the next phase, the influence of these walls on the temperature of the perimeter cladding and the surroundings of the building in comparison with the fa-cade without greenery is verified by monitoring the growth of plants and measuring the temperatures on the green facade of a specific building. This work deals with design and realization of automatic environment generator, serving for autonomous robot simulations. The author describes various approaches to implementation of interior environment generator and their relation to Open Dynamics Engine physics library and XODE file format. This work also includes verification of generator functionality with participation of virtual mobile robot.

Location Estimation of Objects in WiFi Communication Network

The purpose of the thesis is to design and physically implement a system for location of devices in a Wi-Fi based networks deployed in the interior of small and medium-sized enterprises. First of all, the attention is given to the survey of commonly available technologies suitable for determination of the object position. Then, based on these findings, architecture of a location system comprising an array of sensor nodes and central processing unit is proposed. In conclusion, the results are presented and the fulfillment of the requirements is evaluated.

Completion of the BUT - Faculty of Fine Arts

The object consists of 3 volumes: two 6-storey academic buildings, interconnected with public space. Simple geometry of complex is formed by the existing urban development. Repeating street directions and continuing visual contact with the housing of the Law Faculty, the building in terms of shape represents letter V and forms enclosed courtyards. In the lower part of the building of the Faculty of Fine Arts there are workrooms, library and repository that are loaded from the north facade. The first three floors are connected by a corridor with a recreational area of public space created for a comfortable communicating and solitary classes. On the other floors there are workshops, studios and studio offices of ceramics, sculpture, metal, photography, printing and 3D-graphics, cabinets of deanery and classrooms. On the top floor, that is 6 m height, there are art studios, additionaly lightened by lanterns on the roof. The housing is designed in that way that it has the open airy atrium, which, along with half-transparent facades, provides natural light in most interiors. Facade structure is highlighted with the shell of the vertical and horizontal aluminum fins and shelves, which gives to a compex an interesting and constantly changing pattern. Unified composition is also highlighted with shades of warm and cold colors of the spectrum. Four underground floors are used for car parking, and the ground flloor of them is given for the operation of the university. In the future, the project also envisages planting of greenery of building facades and of the surrounding area.

Breda, the old department store

ABSTRACT The diploma thesis project deals, as its name suggests, with a former department store, so called „The old Breda“, which was built between 1927-28 in the then capital of Austrian Silesia, the Opava City. The department store is an architectural masterpiece, you will hardly find another department store of this kind in the whole of former Czechoslovakia. In 1972, it was declared a cultural monument. Today, we can understand it as an accurate testimony to what the city of Opava was a hundred years ago, how it has gradually changed and what it is like today. The building and its fate is also a frequently mentioned topic for the Opavans themselves, as the building itself reminds them of pleasant feelings and memories of the experience of its space. In this context, the central space under the dome, illuminated by glass-concrete blocks, is often inflected by people. Together with stained glass windows, lighted display cases and the creaking wooden steps of a large staircase, it offers visitors a truly unique atmosphere and moment. The reason why the building itself leaves a strong trace of nostalgia in each person is quite obvious and indisputable. It is a building of immense architectural quality, which the Silesian native from Krnov, known as the Viennese architect Leopold Bauer, offers to the local people through his work. Although there is no doubt that Bauer was a genius in his field, which I was able to see again and again during my research, we must not forget the fact that the whole project was possible to happen only thanks to the wealth and initiative of David Weinstein, businessman and owner of Breda & Weinstein company. However, Weinstein did not enjoy the building and its fame for very long and if you look at the time, the place and context and the fact that Weinstein was of Jewish descent, you will find out the reason why. The cruel fate thus befell his family, as did almost all Jews at the time (not only) in Opava. In 1945, during the Ostrava-Opava operation, Opava was almost completely reduced to ashes, and after the war, there were this time Germans who were to be completely expelled from Czechoslovakia. At that time, the building was called German because Breda and Weinstein spoke German. This was followed by privatization and the associated further changes in the property and also layout of the building. In 1994, in addition to the misfortune, the building was acquired „for sale“ by the local bussinesman Kolek, which meant a way to Breda to complete destruction. There was even a fire, which blackened the dome‘s otherwise light concrete. Since 2012, when the house was closed and taken out of operation, it has only fallen into disrepair. It was also in insolvency proceedings. However, in the eyes and hearts of the proud Opavans, the building still leaves strong recognition and feelings that did not allow the building to be abandoned, people put pressure on the politicians from the city for a long time, until in December 2021 the ciity approved the purchase of the building. However, this step opened up more and more questions and problems. Nobody knows what to do now. There is no intention. It is only clear that the reconstruction will be very costly. With my work based on analyzes from the last semester and studying the data of available research, I try to show the city how it could handle the building.
