Music education as a means to improve classroom climate

The diploma thesis deals with the use of music education as a means of improving the classroom climate at the first grade of primary school. The aim is to map a wide range of music education activities and propose specific music education activities that will contribute to the positive development of classroom climate. The theoretical part first introduces the developmental characteristics of the young school-age child, especially cognitive, emotional and social development. Next, it defines key concepts related to classroom climate and the basic principles of music education at the first grade of primary school. It also analyzes and specifies music education activities that promote overall well- being in the classroom. The educational activities are divided into five areas that are key in forming a quality classroom climate. The practical part focuses on transforming the classroom climate through the implementation of the aforementioned music education activities in practice. The research results are evaluated through a questionnaire survey. The final part of the thesis summarizes the findings and provides suggestions for pedagogical practice that can be applied for the effective use of music education as a tool for improving the classroom climate at the first grade of primary school. Beginning Teacher and Classroom management

This diploma thesis deals with classroom management from the point of view of beginning teachers, graduates of the field of Teaching for the 1st grade of elementary school at the Faculty of Education at Charles University. The first chapter is devoted to the definition of the concept of classroom management. The second chapter considers the role of the teacher, the teacher's authority, its typology, the relationship between authority and education, and the importance of taking care of the teacher's mental health. The next chapter describes student discipline, possible causes od problém behavior, and methods of prevention or resolution. The following chapter on classroom climate analyzes the relationships that are formed in the school environment. It specifically explores the interaction between the teacher and the student, but also touches upon communication between students, and briefly discusses nonviolent communication. The penultimate chapter is devoted to student motivation. It examines both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The sixth and last chapter describes evaluates assessment in teaching. Climate of a school class at a primary school

This diploma thesis focuses on the social climate in primary school classrooms. It aims to assess whether classroom teachers have an overview of the social climate in their classes. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part examines the social climate of the classroom and the school. Additionally, it deals with aspects of inclusion and integration in the educational environment, as well as classroom management strategies that influence the classroom social climate. In the practical part, teachers' characteristics of the climate in their class are compared with the results of climate examinations conducted in their classes. The research happened in three classrooms and combined qualitative and quantitative approach. Three instruments were used for data collection: a questionnaire, interviews, and a observation. During the research evaluation phase, the averaged student responses in the questionnaire were compared with the teachers' responses, and data triangulation was performed. The teacher's care for the classroom climate in a small school.

The aim of the thesis is to verify how the choice of methods, procedures and organizational forms of teaching can improve the classroom climate in a small classroom setting, using the example of a combined 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classroom. The first chapter of this thesis deals with small class schools. The history of small class schools, their specifics and the reasons why they are still maintained as an important alternative to larger schools are examined. The next section looks at individualization and differentiation in teaching and their implementation in the small class school setting. The second section focuses on classroom climate. It examines what factors influence classroom climate and how it can be measured and evaluated. Next, the chapter examines the adaptation of the new student in the classroom, a key process for successful integration into the new environment. LGBT+ students: What teachers think and do concerning to them

The bachelor thesis focuses on exploring teachers' attitudes towards LGBT+ students and LGBT+ issues within schools. The theoretical section of the thesis establishes fundamental concepts and phenomena related to LGBT+ adolescents, as well as attitudes and prejudices towards LGBT+ students. The primary emphasis is on LGBT+ students and issues in the school environment. The objective of this study is to investigate the attitudes of secondary school teachers towards their LGBT+ students. For the research, a qualitative approach was employed, and data collection was carried out through individual semi-structured interviews, using pre- prepared question set. The interviews involved 5 female and 3 male respondents. The data gathered was then analyzed using thematic analysis, leading to the identification of 13 themes and 20 sub-themes. These findings are visually represented to enhance clarity and to demonstrate potential interrelationships among them. The results of this study eveal the complexity of teachers' attitudes, highlighting the diverse components that contribute to their perception of a singular subject. Use of artefilities in the adaptation of pupils with OMJ to the primary school environment

The diploma thesis "The Use of Art Therapy in the Adaptation of Students with Different Native Languages to the Elementary School Environment" focuses on the utilization and effectiveness of art therapy as the main tool for developing relationships and improving the social climate of the classroom. The aim of the thesis is to propose and verify through research an art therapy program in the fifth grade of elementary school. The theoretical part introduces the specifics of students with different native languages, particularly their Adaptation to a new environment as well as the preparation of all presently studying students in the class and the school as such for the arrival of a student with a different native language. The theoretical part also defines art therapy as a separate field of science subject, its focus, and its contribution to education. The practical part presents ten art therapy sessions aimed at developing prosocial behavior, assertiveness, and socially acceptable behavior not only among Czech students but especially among students with different native languages and war refugees. The bachelor's thesis entitled "Supporting the wellbeing of pupils with special educational needs at the lower secondary school" addresses the issue of wellbeing among students with special educational needs in the lower secondary stage of elementary schools, with a focus on social and emotional aspects. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the concept of wellbeing, its factors, and its impact on overall quality of life. It further examines the classroom climate as an environment that influences students' wellbeing. The role of the class teacher in supporting the wellbeing of students with special educational needs is also described, with emphasis on the specificities of working with these students and supporting their individual needs.
