Analysis of online communication of Jindřich Rajchl and Ladislav Vrabel through the perspective of personalisation theories
Mikulová, Dominika ; Charvát, Jan (advisor) ; Hájek, Lukáš (referee)
The diploma thesis is devoted to the analysis of the online communication of actors Jindřich Rajchl and Ladislav Vrabel through the lens of personalisation theories. The thesis analyses the actors' Facebook communication in the time span from 1 September 2021 to 30 September 2022. The aim of the thesis is to find out to what extent the actors' communications are personalised, based on the used communication basis and the established typology of personalised communication. At the same time, the thesis tries to find out what are the most frequent themes in the actors' communications. Finally, the results of this analysis are compared, and the similarities and differences of the individual communications are identified. The method of quantitative content analysis, manual coding and comparison is used in the thesis. The results of this thesis show that the communications of both actors carry elements of personalization, with a predominant communicative background in both cases in which the actor speaks for himself and also elements of private communication. For both actors, the theme of criticism of the government dominates. Despite the initial similarity of the communications, there are differences in the level of personalisation and the themes with which the actors engage. Despite some limitations of...
Intergenerational solidarity in the time of coronavirus pandemic
Vondrová, Vanesa ; Jeřábek, Hynek (advisor) ; Remr, Jiří (referee)
The diploma thesis examines the changes in intergenerational solidarity and the form of care provided by informal caregivers to elderly individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic. The rapidly changing situation around COVID-19 was captured through a planned but ultimately unrealized longitudinal panel design, which would have allowed capturing its dynamic nature. The method of data collection for the research was a questionnaire survey. In-depth interviews were conducted with a selected sample of participants, including caregivers and elderly recipients of care. These interviews took the form of semi-structured interviews, allowing flexibility in exploring relevant aspects. The collected qualitative data were analysed using content analysis. Despite the unrealized plan, the thesis provides a comprehensive view of the changing intergenerational solidarity during the pandemic. Findings revealed that the pandemic influenced intergenerational solidarity among caregivers and elderly recipients. Shared perceptions and concerns led to higher levels of solidarity. Isolation did not necessarily weaken solidarity, as many families used digital technologies to maintain connections and support. Additionally, intensive care contributed to higher intergenerational solidarity and engagement. Respondents...
Role of Fiscal Policy in the Recent Inflation Shock in the Czech Republic
Řepa, David ; Baxa, Jaromír (advisor) ; Pavlova, Alena (referee)
Following a massive fiscal expansion worldwide during the COVID-19 pan- demic, global inflation suddenly started to upsurge at a long-unseen pace. In- spired by the case of the Czech Republic, a country that experienced one of the sharpest hikes in the price level in the European Union between 2021 and 2023 and whose public finances have been considerably disrupted by expansive fiscal policy, the thesis aims to reveal to which extent both phenomena are related. Using panel data spanning from 1996 to 2022, the Fixed Effects and Common Correlated Effects estimators are applied to several dynamic models in which four alternative measures of fiscal stance are considered and that allow for heterogeneity in the magnitude of the coefficients as well as the presence of common effects in some cases. However, no robust evidence that the relation- ship would be economically relevant in the standard times has been revealed. Consequently, the analysis hence does not reveal a clear fiscal source of the recent inflation shock. Different drivers are likely to have affected it. Addition- ally, evidence of generally strong inflation persistence and a role of openness to international trade are observed. The Impact of Stadium Attendance on the Phenomenon of Home Advantage in European Football
Radimský, Marek ; Šíma, Jan (advisor) ; Krause, Veronika (referee)
Title: The Impact of Stadium Spectators on the Home Advantage Phenomenon in European Football Objective: The aim of this thesis is to identify the magnitude of home advantage in selected football leagues during the seasons before COVID-19 and in the 2020/21 season, and to determine whether the presence of spectators significantly influences HA. If confirmed, the study will also examine whether the number of spectators is a significant factor. Methods: The magnitude of HA is identified using the method of percentage home point success. To test the significance of the presence and number of spectators on HA, paired and unpaired two-sample t-tests are used, respectively. The normality of input data is verified using histograms and the Shapiro-Wilk test. Visualization of the dataset distribution is conducted using boxplots. Results: The results of all examined leagues collectively show a statistically significant decline in HA during the COVID-19 season compared to the ten-year pre- pandemic average. This finding indicates that the presence of spectators is very important for HA. Conversely, the difference in HA decline between two groups of leagues, categorized by the size of their spectator attendance, was not statistically significant. This suggests that the mere number of spectators may not play a...
The Influence of Factors on the Lifestyle of the 21st Century
Podzemská, Natálie ; Kinkorová, Ivana (advisor) ; Jandová, Tereza (referee)
Title: The influence of factors on 21st century lifestyles. Objectives: The aim of my bachelor's thesis is to analyse the influence of 21st century lifestyle factors on the population aged 20 - 30 years, or what the influence of social networks is and what was the influence of the covid-19 period on lifestyle, specifically on eating habits and physical activity. Methods: 87 respondents took part in the survey. An anonymous survey method was used. The survey was created in the online platform Survio and then shared via a link. The content of the survey consisted of 16 closed-ended questions and the data collected was processed and evaluated in Microsoft Excel. The results were interpreted using bar charts with brief comments. All data collected through this survey was used for the research results. Results: The results of the survey showed that social networks are considered by respondents as the most risky lifestyle factor nowadays. Specifically, it was identified as a negative lifestyle factor by 60 % of respondents and more than 70 % of respondents identified social networking as a risk factor. Respondents also indicated that the covid-19 period had the greatest impact on their time spent on social networking sites. Another significant impact of covid-19 was on the change in physical activity,...
Who is more prone to depression? Analysis of micro-level data of patients with cancer.
Balážová, Julie Kristýna ; Votápková, Jana (advisor) ; Landovská, Petra (referee)
Depression is very common in cancer patients, affecting about 1 in 5 people with such disease. This thesis uncovers determinants potentially contributing to the development of depression in patients with cancer diagnosis. Special emphasis is placed on how human mental health has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. The source of our cross-sectional dataset of U.S. population aged 18+ is NHIS. Two dependent variables are examined. The probability of taking medication for depression or anxiety is analyzed using logistic regression, and severity of depres- sion symptoms is estimated by multinomial logistic regression. Several robustness checks are implemented. Additionally to coronavirus symptoms, other regressors include sociodemographic characteristics, household composition, educational at- tainment, health status and life satisfaction. The results show that women are more prone to depression, regardless of cancer diagnosis. The coronavirus symp- toms significantly affect depression among people without cancer, but play no role for people diagnosed with cancer. Older people with cancer are less likely to de- velop depression, and household composition has vital impact on mental health of all respondents, with the exception of cancer survivors. Education is insignificant for patients in cancer...
Vaccination in HIV-infected persons.
Jilich, David ; Machala, Ladislav (advisor) ; Snopková, Svatava (referee) ; Sedláček, Dalibor (referee)
Vaccination is essential and very important part of long-term follow-up care in children and adults. Vaccination is at the same time effective and safe prevention against many infectious diseases including new infections like COVID-19. Efficacy of vaccination is based on healthy human immunity system. In case of immunosupressive diseases, immunogenicity and durability of protection can be alterated. HIV belongs to the group of immunocopromising diseases. First aim of the thesis was to collect all available data related to vaccination in HIV-infected persons. Aim of experimental part of the thesis was to analyze current situation within patient's cohort of our HIV Clinic FNB and amplify our knowledge using outcomes of research projects. We find as a key to research vaccination prevalence in targeted population, and evaluate or compare with general population. Another important task of our research is vaccination protecion and its durability. In our research projects following infections were included: Tetanus, Influenza, Tick-borne encephalitis, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and COVID-19.
Development of a procedure for the analysis of the T-cell response against SARS-CoV-2 virus
Šmahel, Michal ; Pavliš, Oto ; Beran, Ondřej ; Bohoněk, Miloš ; Tachezy, Ruth ; Holub, Michal ; Poláková, Ingrid ; Saláková, Martina ; Schreiberová, Lucie
In 2020, the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus caused a pandemic of covid-19 disease. To detect the cellular response induced by infection with this virus, a highly sensitive ELISPOT assay has been developed that detects specific interferon gamma-producing T lymphocytes after stimulation with synthetic peptides derived from viral antigens. This assay allows the detection of memory T cells directed against the viral spike (S) protein used for vaccination as well as against other viral proteins. This method can be applied to the analysis of the immune response in individuals after covid-19 and SARS-CoV-2 vaccination and may thus be used to determine the immune preparedness of emergency workers.
