Using yaPOSH for CTF team behaviour

Title: Using yaPOSH for CTF team behaviour Author: Mikuláš Zelinka Department: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor: Mgr. Michal Bída Abstract: We evaluated the suitability of yaPOSH (an action-selection system for virtual agents) for complex team behaviour development, specifically for the Capture the Flag (CTF) mode in Unreal Tournament 2004. We created a CTF team using yaPOSH and Java and compared them with a CTF team written by V. Tuma in plain Java as well as with the native UT2004 bots. We found out that although yaPOSH does have some advantages over plain Java (mainly in code readability), one cannot create a competitive bot using yaPOSH only. That is a direct consequence of the limitations the yaPOSH planner has, with the most significant one being lack of parallelism support. Thus, some as- pects of the behaviour (such as combat) were programmed in Java. Nevertheless, the resulting team is better than the native bots by a margin and slightly better than Tuma's CTF team. As a result, we have made several suggestions for improvements of the yaPOSH engine as well as its editor, such as to add the possibility to execute multiple ya- POSH plans at once, or to enable their parallel evaluation. These suggestions and our other findings are not limited to the chosen domain of...
Prolems of the sport preparation of youth
Novák, Eduard ; Malý, Tomáš (advisor) ; Buzek, Mario (referee)
Title: Youth Sports Preparation Issues Objectives: The objective of the diploma thesis is to find out the intervention programme effectiveness using specific and semi-specific character exercises in relation to the enhancement of fitness training pre-conditions of the young football players belonging to the U 16 category. Methods: A group of players, who were subjected to testing, consisted of 12 players of younger junior category at the age of 16 years (year of birth 1997) who are playing younger junior league. This group was involved in a two-month process of intervention. The exercises were applied every day in both months during the main contest period. Before joining the intervention, players were subjected to entry tests, then, a two-month training cycle began. After that, the players underwent final tests which were exactly the same as the entry tests. Results: The section of the diploma thesis bringing tangible results involves their evaluation which is available in the submitted protocols. Final results are presented in a well arrange way in the form of charts and graphs followed by their evaluation. Conclusion: Direct influence on the speed and coordination abilities using specific and semi- specific exercises is an important constituent part of training units in any football match namely because...
Basic principles and the coordination of old*-age and survivors' pensions according to Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council, on the coordination of social security systems
Vidovičová, Dominika ; Koldinská, Kristina (advisor) ; Štefko, Martin (referee)
130 Abstrakt v anglickém jazyce We comprehend the coordination of social security systems as an interconnection of social security systems of Member States therefore the free movement of persons can be carried out. The aim of Coordinating Regulations is to ensure that a migrant does not loose his/her claims on social rights due to his/her enjoyment of free movement. Concerning the large extent of this topic the thesis is focusing only on old-age and survivors' pensions according to valid Regulations (EC) No 883/2004 and No 987/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council which entered into force on 1 May 2010. The preliminary chapter out of five at total generally presents the nature of the Coordinating Regulations. It clears up their development and aims. It further introduces other sources of coordination law and explains their relations with other sources of EU law and international law. The determination of personal and material scope of Coordinating Regulations is the indispensable part of this chapter as well. The second chapter highlights the cardinal importance of basic principles of Coordinating Regulations - the principle of equal treatment, the principle of single applicable legislation, the principle of aggregation of periods, the principle of export of benefits and the principle of good...
The Hospice Volunteer - the Specifics of Recruitment and Education
Trnková, Michaela ; Kopecký, Martin (advisor) ; Šerák, Michal (referee)
The thesis is describing the situation with volunteering programs at hospices. It is analyzing the process of recruitment, professional grow and managing volunteers directly involved with hospice clients. The document is summing up real life application of volunteers work at hospice, pointing out key aspects of the work at the specific environment of provided services of hospice. All texts are based on published professional literature and data provided by qualitative research providing most point of views of participating personal - volunteers and coordinators. In the first part you will find specifications of the volunteer hiring and education from organization point of view here represented by the coordinators. The second part describes the qualitative data research, providing volunteer's point of view on the same process. The research itself is targeting to provide the key moments of the volunteer's work at hospice organizations. It provides over all view of the main motivators of the work and on the other hand describes death with understanding and placing it as part of human life while showing its place in the society. The thesis is also showing the whole volunteering concept with its unused potential. All real life situations are also supported by other means of research - document analysis...
Monitoring of the impact of external load on timing of shoulder girdle muscles during abduction in scapular plane - pilot sEMG study
Knorová, Kateřina ; Čech, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Valouchová, Petra (referee)
Bachelor's thesis "Monitoring of the impact of external load on timing of shoulder girdle muscles during abduction in scapular plane - pilot sEMG study" is focused on the changes of muscle activation pattern in response to increase of strength demands. Theoretical part contains a review on factors influencing the movement outcome and the strength capability of musculoskeletal system. Experimental part is based on pilot sEMG study monitoring the impact of external load on timing of shoulder girdle muscles during abduction in scapular plane. Thirteen subjects (10 females, 3 males) at the age range from 20 to 30 years (median 21 years) were included in this study. The experiment consisted of 3 model situations: A) without external load, B) with light load (1kg) and C) with excess load (3-10kg). All muscles were activated earlier with increasing load. The differences between mean onset times of individual muscles were decreasing with increasing load. Results of this study support the theory of coordination-strength funcional reserve of musculoskeletal system. Discussion summarizes possible consequences and possibilities of using this phenomenon; both in testing, therapy and monitoring its effects.
Stimulation of strength, speed, and coordination, abilities in the ice hockey goaltender
Dohnal, Vladimír ; Perič, Tomáš (advisor) ; Vojta, Zdeněk (referee)
Thesis title: Stimulation of strength, speed and coordination abilities in the ice hockey goaltender. Aim of the thesis: To describe theoretical basis of stimulation in ice hockey goaltenders. To design a model of goaltender's strength, speed and coordination training and to find suitable methods, means and forms of the stimulation of strength, speed and coordination abilities focused on youth teams and older goaltenders. Method: Qualitative analysis of document contents was used to identify the main theoretical basis of stimulation of goaltenders strength, speed and coordination abilities. Determiners of goaltenders' strength, speed and coordination development were described on the basis of deeper analysis. The main theoretical resources were finally integrated into a logical complex by the method of synthesis. On this basis the conception of strength, speed and coordination abilities stimulation could have been set up and suitable methods, means and forms of the goaltenders' strength, speed and coordination training could have been chosen with focus on youth teams and older goaltenders. Results: The thesis discusses the topic of stimulation of goaltender's strength, speed and coordination abilities, describes the basic theoretical basis and determiners of goaltenders' strength, speed and...
