In my thesis, built on the bachelor's thesis, I focus on the universal form of clothing. In the theoretical part I research the common features of garments in changing cultural and historical contexts. I focus on general aspects of clothing. I search for connections between functions and forms of clothing. I monitor the impact of historical styles on the work of contemporary clothing designers and I seek the universal features of today's fashion apparel. I observe the interest of children, teachers and also of publications in textile creation. In the art section I work on a series of proposals for universal variable apparel. By using patents it is created more models out of just one. I document and crtitically reflex the final results of possible model variations. In didactic part I suggest educational program for selected clothing exposition. The program includes worksheets and the posibility of using a universal garment as teaching tool. The program I verify in practice I also document and evaluate.

The Entry "Fashion" in Czech Encyklopedias
Schambergerová, Lucie ; Hlobil, Tomáš (advisor) ; Jarošová, Helena (referee)
The thesis "Entry "Fashion" in Czech Encyclopedias" analyses an evolution of aesthetic viewpoint of the entry "fashion" since its first appearance (the first Encyclopedia in Czech language from 1866) until recently (the Entry Fashion in 2001). The thesis research method is based on Jan Mukařovský's theory of function, value and norm of the aesthetics and his commentaries on fashion, which I made a subset to my own term aesthetic viewpoint. For better orientation I first decided to summarize particular analyses of each entry into a spreadsheet which makes development, way of characterisation and terminological variability of aesthetic viewpoint apparent in a more complete way. The main goal is to answer the following reasearch questions: 1. Do authors distinguish between fashion as a norm and fashion as a form of clothing? 2. Which terms are being used to thematize the aesthetic viewpoint? 3. What is the context of the aesthetic viewpoint of fashion?

Řeřábková, Jana ; Šindelová, Jana (advisor) ; Jarchovská, Lenka (referee)
TITLE: The function of clothing as a means of communication with the environment AUTHOR: Jana Řeřábková DEPARTMENT: Institute of Occupational Development of Education Workers SUPERVISOR: Mgr. MgA. Jana Šindelová ANNOTATION: Clothing as a means of communication in the environment is a topic that permeates the entire bachelor thesis. A flashback reveals a side of clothes in the context of socio-political and social-cultural events, rather than describing the evolution of its particulars. It stops at landmarks that somehow influenced clothing and its communication with the environment. In the twentieth century it watches street fashion as a social identity and protest against the current establishment. The relevant parts of the work alludes to the arts and clothing in the sense of mutual inspiration. It especially describes clothes ot the Czech society in 1848, when its form has played a vital role in the national identification. Last chapter records the role of folk costumes as a means of communication in the society. The following practical part includes my personal reflections from the point of view of the teacher of vocational subjects at the vocational school for fashion designs. It analyzes the activities related to the topic. The aim of the last part is a method of semi-structured dialogue to find out...
