Farkaš, Tomáš ; Váchová, Alena (advisor) ; Nechlebová, Eva (referee)
In the theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis, I summarized the essential information that relates to nutrition and expanded it with the specifics that comes with nutrition in fitness and strength sports. I described the components of nutrition that should be looked at in the diet-energy balance, macronutrients, micronutrients, supplements and water. I also described the compilation of a nutrition for athletes in fitness and strength sports. In the practical part, I assessed whether the respondents' diet corresponds to the findings that I described in the theoretical part of the thesis and at the same time issued possible recommendations for improvement. I obtained information from athletes in the field of fitness and strength sports through a document that contained a questionnaire part and a template for diet and exercise recording. I dealt with each case separately, the approach of the practical part is qualitative. Data on energy intake, expenditure and macronutrients are processed using graphs. The results showed that the respondents often had an inappropriate energy intake set, two had a completely inappropriate one, one almost suitable. The results also showed frequent use of vitamin and mineral supplements, which were not necessary or could be avoided with a small variation of the diet....

Dittrichová, Jana ; Anderlová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Krejčí, Hana (referee)
1 Abstract: The present thesis is focused on a lifestyle of women with anamnesis of Gestational Diabetes and on the way in which this lifestyle influences manifestation of Type 2 Diabetes. The goal of the thesis is to describe the ways in which women with anamnesis of Gestational Diabetes in the period 1-11 years after delivery behave preventively in order that Type 2 Diabetes would not occur - to describe their diet and movement activities as well as to discover, if they have their blood sugar level checked regularly. By means of questionnaire survey, it has been discovered that women with anamnesis of Gestational Diabetes consume not-sweetened beverages, coffee, vegetable and fruits, on the other hand it would be convenient, if they would eliminate secondary processed food, red meat, sweets and fried meal and increase intake of nuts, fish and cereals. 83 % of women engage in a movement activity at least 3 times a week. 52 % had come for blood sugar level examination (oGTT) after delivery and another 12 % had their blood sugar level checked during regular medical examination. Nevertheless, many respondents are not regularly monitored anymore. Women with anamnesis of Gestational Diabetes, in the case of which blood sugar level examination (oGTT) detected Prediabetes or Type 2 Diabetes, consume too much...
Dental health as a reflection of population lifestyle
Rybárová, Zuzana ; Bejdová, Šárka (advisor) ; Zazvonilová, Eliška (referee)
Human dentition is one of the key sources of information about the life of past as well as current populations. Due to the high proportion of inorganic components, the teeth are well preserved. Based on the state of dentition on skeletal remains, it is possible to reconstruct the diet and living conditions of archeological populations and compare them with modern populations. While the dental caries provides information about the type and composition of the diet, the enamel hypoplasia may reflect stress factors acting on an individual during early childhood. However, for the analysis of teeth, it is necessary to understand the causes of tooth diseases. Most of these diseases have multifactorial origin and are influenced by external and internal factors. This bachelor thesis describes the most commom tooth diseases and their connection with the health status and lifestyle of the individual, the impact of diet and other external factors on dentition and changes in these factors during history. Key words: human dentition, dental caries, periodontal diseases, developmental defects of enamel, subsistences, nutrition, smoking, alcohol, socioeconomic status, health status
Biofilm formation in probiotic cultures and its application in pharmacy
Ryšávka, Petr ; Obruča, Stanislav (referee) ; Vorlová, Lenka (referee) ; Márová, Ivana (advisor)
The work was comprehensively focused on the development of adhesive forms of probiotics in the form of a biofilm on combined carriers with a prebiotic component. The second part dealed with the influence of food on the multiplication and survival of selected types of probiotic bacteria. Subsequently, the effect of individualized probiotic supplements on changes in the human intestinal microbiome was monitored. Suitable adherent probiotic strains for biofilm formation were selected and tested. Methods have been introduced and different variants of carriers for culturing and binding bacteria have been tested. In vitro experiments verified the stability of biofilm stucture and its resistance to low pH, bile and antibiotics in comparison with the planktonic cell form. The antimicrobial effect of probiotic strains in the form of a biofilm was studied. The cultivation of the multispecies biofilm on the combined carrier was optimized and the stability of the biofilm and the final viability of probiotic bacteria were confirmed. Furthermore, the influence of various foods and beverages on the viability of probiotic bacteria was evaluated with emphasis on the simulation of passage through the gastrointestinal tract. Both models, solutions with standardised concentrations of alcohol, sugar, salts, proteins or different pH and different types of real foods and beverages were tested. The effect of food and beverages was tested on monocultures of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium breve and on probiotic capsules containing a mixed culture of probiotic microorganisms. The survival of probiotics in various food matrices in the simulated gastrointestinal tract was quantitatively different. We managed to define foods suitable for supporting the multiplication of probiotic bacteria. A separate part of the work was focused on the targeted modulation of the intestinal microbiome by individualized probiotics that were prepared on the basis of molecular biological analyzes of the intestinal microbiome aimed at detecting the percentage of lactobacilli, bifidobacteria and phylum Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes. Personalized probiotic supplementation confirmed the positive effect of this approach on microbiome changes, especially on the increase of the content of lactobacilli, bifidobacteria and the overall diversity of the microbiome.
