Reflection of social experience in literary works of Ota Pavel

Bachelor thesis called Ota Pavel's Social experience reflection in his literature creation is about the personality and literature of Czech-jewish writer Ota Pavel. The goal of this thesis is to describe the picture of the social experience in a way how it was literary described by the Ota Pavel. In my thesis I observe following aspects. How it is the stance of the Jews to the major society reflected and vice versa. Further more on the example of the father of the Ota Pavel I follow up the relation of his family to the Czechoslovakia. I also describe an economy situation of the Ota Pavel and his family beginning with the first republic, following with the World War II, transitional period 1945-1948 up to the period of communism regime. Next part is about Ota Pavel's and his family experience with occupation power and anti-Semitic precaution during the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. I also describe the Jew problematic in postwar Czechoslovakia in a way how the Ota Pavel reflected it based on his experience in his commemorative stories.

Czech -german relationships in Dacice region during the 1. part of 20. century

The aim of this work is to describe czech-german relationship in theneibourhood of the town Dačice with a view to villages Volfířov and Lipolec during the first part of twentieth century. These two villages were chosen for their different position after occupation of the borderland by Germany in 1938. Lipolec together with Slavonic's district were, after the event called Mnichov contract, taken by Germany but Volfířov wasn't. These villages, in spite of being distant just a few kilometres, passed through very different procession regarding of nationalities. Volfirov was always czech village and there did not exist not even a minority of Germans. On the contrary in Lipolec there was a majority of inhabitans of german's nationality, after 1918 with a minority of Czechs. Interesting point is the postwar situation in Lipolec where took place the wilde transfer of Germans. The subject of this work is to show czech-german relationship in the district and its changes in the named period and put them into the world context. Nástup červenobílých a Vlajka in the period from 1939 to 1940

This diploma thesis focuses on two periodicals that were published simultaneously during 1939-1940, i.e. in the initial period of the so-called Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Both periodicals presented themselves as press platforms of the sympathizers of fascist groups. One of the periodicals related to the pre-war fascist group Červenobílí and the other referred to a fascist movement called Vlajka. Despite seemingly similar orientations, the magazines got themselves into a dispute that resulted in an extensive press campaign. The aim of my thesis is the detailed analysis of this campaign. Most of the people concentrated around Nástup Červenobílých magazine were active in the committee of Národní souručenství (the only legal Czech political organization of that time), or in its satellite institutions. Nástup Červenobílých thus acted loyally towards Národní souručenství and was financed by its leading officials. Vlajka magazine, on the contrary, was against Národní souručenství from the beginning, which was reflected in the attacks on Nástup Červenobílých. The press campaign was led on the level of personal insults and the main protagonists were Zdeněk Zástěra, publisher of Nástup Červenobílých, and Jan Rys with Josef Burda on the other side, both Vlajka officials. Reflections of the Munich Agreement in the illegal anti-Nazi magazine "V boj"

This thesis deals with the magazine V boj's reflection of the Munich Agreement. This journal was published illegally in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia from May 1939 to spring 1941. V boj was a part of the resistance standing up for Beneš. This academic work will show the immediate reactions of contemporaneous Czech and foreign authors to the Munich Agreement. A content analysis examines three concrete and distinct paradigms associated with the Munich Agreement. The first paradigm reflects the Agreement of Munich as a betrayal of western countries. The second is the amount of Beneš's responsibility for this event. The third contends that this agreement reflects the collapse of Czechoslovak democracy. V boj allows one not only to look closer at the so-called civic groups, but also to examine the prints published by the military resistance organization Obrana národa (Defence of the Nation). The thesis follows the general knowledge of the V boj's content presented by its reprint, done by Růžena Hlušičková and her collective.

The Influence of Political Systems and Ideologies on the National Theatre Ballet in Prague in the 20th Century

Název v anglickém jazyce: The Influence of Political Systems and Ideologies on the National Theatre Ballet in Prague in the 20th Century The subject of the Thesis is the influence of political systems and ideologies on the National Theatre Ballet in Prague. The period of research spans mainly from the theatre season 1923/1924, when Remislav Remislavský was appointed the post of ballet master and choreographer, to the season 1989/1990, when Vlastimil Harapes assumed the post of the ensemble's chief. Two main periods are underlined: the period of World War II and the subsequent period of the Communist Party government after 1948. Persons of interest are mainly the bosses of ballet company for example Jelizaveta Nikolská, Joe Jenčík, Saša Machov or Jiří Němeček st. and others, but also soloists, and the repertoire of the ballet corps. This thesis is a scope of the evolution of ballet of National theatre in concern of political changes in 20th century.

Zusammenfassung Die Diplomarbeit "Die Protektoratsregierungen und ihren legislativen Tätigkeiten" zielt darauf ab, den Leser mit den Aktivitäten der einzelnen Protektoratsregierungen im zeitgenössischen Kontext und mit deren Gesetzgebungstätigkeit zwischen 15. 3. 1939 und 5.5.1945 vertraut zu machen. Die Arbeit ist in drei Teile gegliedert. Der erste Teil trägt den Titel "Historische Pfad zum Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren". Dieses Kapitel ist in zwei Teile geteilt. Der erste Teil beschäftigt sich mit dem Ende der zwanzigjährigen Existenz der Tschechoslowakei auf der Grundlage von Verhandlungen von vier europäischen Mächten auf der Münchner Konferenz. Das zweite Kapitel beschreibt die Entwicklung und die Wende in der Politik der neuen Regierung mit Orientierung auf Nazi-Deutschland. Im zweiten Kapitel "Anfang des Protektorats" werden in ihrem ersten Teil die Nachtverhandlungen von Emil Hácha in Berlin und die gleichzeitige Sitzung der Regierung in frühen Stunden des 15. 5 Abstract: Dissertation work is concerned with a political activism phenomenon, retardation and programme collaboration of army elite in Bohemia and Moravia Protectorate study. The aim of the work is to explore and chart the public and political life in Bohemia and Moravia Protectorate with a special attention to high Czech commissioned officer activity not only to summarize the acquired information but also to put them into the context with a development of Protectorate autonomous and occupation politics. The Thesis is not only focuses on the activity on the main organisations and their leading personalities but devotes its attention to opinions and points of view of centers of protectorate autonomous and occupation administration towards them, which had an influence on the organisation activity and their leaders. It situates them into the protectorate politics on the background of the events. The Thesis theme concentrates basically on the activity of the main Protektorate organisations and of the former soldiers such as Czech Union of Warriors and Central Union Former Soldiers in Bohemia and Moravia and their leaders - the general Otto Bláha, Robert Rychtrmoc and Bohuslav Kálala. Ideology in the protectorate daily press discourse

Diploma thesis Ideology in the protectorate daily press discourse deals with the influence of ideology in the discourse of then legally published dailies České slovo, Lidové noviny and Venkov. The theoretical part refers firstly to the historical background of the state formation Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and its political and social status within the Greater German Reich. After having depicted the demonstrations of 28th October 1939 and the events of 17th November 1939 the media character in the protectorate era is introduced, a special emphasis is put on the press. After that the concept of discourse is clarified as well as its origin, meaning and current interpretation. Besides the critical discourse analysis, its origins, aims and three major approaches are described. The last chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the discourse-historical approach which was developed by Ruth Wodak and her colleagues from the Vienna School. The ideal procedure of this approach is outlined and the discursive strategies of nomination, predication and argumentation are explained. With their aid an analysis of four newspaper articles is carried out in the practical part of the thesis. Transformations of Kinorevue newsreel in 1934-1945

Bachelor's thesis "Transformations of Kinorevue newsreel in 1934-1935" records the development of the popular film periodical during the above-mentioned period considering cultural and political development of the Czech society. The thesis deals with content and formal analysis of Kinorevue newsreel. The attention is paid to the personnel management of the magazine, its correspondents, important texts, features, graphical arrangement, range, price etc. A certain place is also given to the brief analysis of Kinorevue newsreel predecessor - Svět ve filmu a obrazech magazine. Brief characteristics of political and economical conditions in Czechoslovakia during the years 1930-1945 and a summary of the Czechoslovak cinametographical development in 1930s and during the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia come before the analysis. Sections aimed at the genesis and development of the Czechoslovak film press and at the press regulation and controlling from the beginning of Czechoslovakia to the end of the World War Two are significant parts of the essay, too. The Bachelor's thesis is closed by the chapter summarizing and comparing every single period in Kinorevue newsreel development.
