The chapters of the theoretical part describe target groups from the view of adulthood development, the model of therapeutic community and its possible application in various diagnostic circles. The last chapter of the theoretical part describes the employment of the model of therapeutic community in the work with youth at risk in a historical perspective. Next, it suggests that the model of therapeutic community is compatible with the attainment of developmental goals during maturing. The empirical part maps the usage of elements of therapeutic community model in selected facilities which work with youth at risk. It informs whether these elements occur and if so, what shape they take in practice.
Living with Disability
Stárková, Jana ; Zelinková, Olga (advisor) ; Krahulcová, Beáta (referee)
In my thesis, The Life of a Handicapped Person, I tried to chart what influences the future of such person and how problems trouble him in life. In the first chapters I defined and separated the types of disabilities, their different impact and problems in diagnosis. The central part of the work is the chapter on systems that influence the life of a disabled person. These systems are mostly influenced by the family because, by accepting the child, the parent, as well as the selected type of upbringing, affects the future of the person and likewise the disabled child has a vital influence on the family. Also included is a chapter on health care, social services and education. The quality of life of a disabled person is also influenced by friends, hence a social process, and partnerships, and equally important is the person's professional role. The fourth chapter relates to research which was carried out by a questionnaire on a group of 46 people with physical disabilities. On the basis of the answers, I verified the validity of the six pre-defined hypotheses.

Pečtová, Kateřina ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Karlová, Irena (referee)
Diploma thesis "Mental health policy analysis in the Czech Republic in the context of European Union" deals with the present state of health care of psychiatric patients in the Czech Republic. Main theories for the thesis are quality of life, human rights, health determinants and support of mental health. Analysis of mental health policy shows that health care for psychiatric patients is mainly concetrated in psychiatric institutions. Advanced trends and recommendations described in the political documents issued by the European Union urge to transformation of service framework stressing the importance of health care diferentiation and its move towards community care. At the end, health care framework for the Czech Republic fulfilling such requests and correspondig with the model of balanced care is described. Such a model is based on progressive health care movement from psychiatric institutions towards community care with regard on financial, personal and capacity resources of the state and region. The Czech Republic belongs to the states with average resource capacity thus such steps would lead to balancing institutional and community care and follows the line established by developed countries leading to larger and more diferentiated health care framework.

Bozděchová, Kristýna ; Chrz, Vladimír (advisor) ; Krejčí, Josef (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to understand and map how elderly people cope with adversity that this stage of life unavoidably brings with it. The first part of the thesis - the theoretical background, is based on literary sources that try to define concepts like "resilience", "old age", "institutional care for the elderly" and "visual disorders". The empirical data has been obtained through semi-structured deep interviews with four selected clients of the Retirement home för visually impaired people "Palata". The evaluation of the data has been done thanks to the qualitative approach of the interpretative fenomenological analysis that helps us comprehend how a person creates meaning of one's lived experience and thus understand the individual point of view on subjective experiences. The interviews have enabled us to define the categories that have appeared most frequently and represent a significant source of mental resilience - family, social interactions, display of gratitude towards staff, responsibility/external support, acceptance/satisfaction, moral values, leisure activities, accentuation of small life events and integrity. These categories have been described in more detail based on specialized literature. As a conclusion we have summarized the major findings from our interviews and literary...
