Volunteers in The Catholic Parish Chlumec nad Cidlinou

The thesis focuses on activity of volunteers in the Chlumec church community. The introduction describes the formation of the Church within which the parishes subsequently emerged and includes a definition of the parish in the ecclesiastical documents. It describes the Chlumec nad Cidlinou parish as well as its brief history. It defines the term "volunteer" and the layperson and their mutual relationship. The volunteers of the distant past of the Chlumec parish are portrayed through the activities of the local literary fraternity. The interwar period is characterised by the activity of the Czechoslovak People's Party and the Orel association. Describing the activities of the Parish charity in Chlumec nad Cidlinou, it demonstrates the enthusiasm and desire to be useful in the period after November 1989. The conclusion includes a brief summary indicating the number of inhabitants in relation to the number of volunteers in each aforementioned period. Supervision of volunteers in nonprofit organizations

The theme of the presented bachelor thesis is the process of supervision and the volunteerism. Volunteering is an important subject in today's society and essentials workforce in social work. The aim of this work is to focus on the non-profit sector and try to describe it. Furthermore, there is an explanation of the position of volunteers in these organizations and supervision in social work. Supervision is one of the managerial function in non-profit organizations, which is widely and long-term applied. The thesis wants to show basics, consequences and benefits of volunteer's supervision. Providing supervision is one of the main objectives of the organization to support staff or their volunteers. This bachelor thesis explores volunteering and supervision in two countries, the Czech Republic and Sweden. This thesis compares two different approaches, based on history of these two countries. Volunteering and supervision are very interesting features of the non-profit organizations. The practical part of this thesis comprises from qualitative investigation of different nonprofit organizations. The effect of volunteer management professionalization level on volunteer work satisfaction

This text concentrates on volunteering in volunteer organizations. It examines the connection between volunteer management professionalization level and volunteer work satisfaction in these organizations. In the theoretical part is defined the concepts of volunteering, professionalization and satisfaction are defined and their particular aspects associated with the focus of the thesis are highlighted. The empirical part describes the construction of the research method and presents the analysis of the above-mentioned connection in several volunteering organizations with the use of this method. Voluntarism in Sports - FIS Nordic Junior & U23 World Ski Championships Liberec 2013

Title: Voluntarism in Sports - FIS Nordic Junior & U23 World Ski Championships Liberec 2013 Objectives: The main target of the thesis is to evaluate the area of voluntarism during the FIS Nordic Junior & U23 World Ski Championships Liberec 2013 and to suggest recommendations for working with volunteers during other future sports events in the Liberec area. Methods: The method of electronic survey and subsequent observation was chosen for the research. The sample of respondents was chosen from the team of FIS Nordic Junior & U23 World Ski Championships Liberec 2013 volunteers. Results: The research showed that the organization of the volunteer program at FIS World Junior and U23 athletes was evaluated by the volunteers very positively; however, the research revealed weaknesses in the individual items of the agenda. The improvements are focused on the recruitment part of the program, training of the volunteers and the final evaluation and rewarding of the volunteers. Based on the results of the research, the draft of recommendations and proposals, which are suitable for further work with volunteers at sporting events, was compiled. Abstract: The thesis is focused on one-to-one peer volunteering in programs for children, youth and young adults at risk, with a focus on Project Lata. It is dedicated especially to aspects which may influence the client-volunteer relationship, with a particular focus on helping volunteers and discovering the conditions of volunteers working with target groups. The research part examines the volunteers' characteristics, personality attributes, abilities, skills and experience beyond the current entry criteria, to identify qualities which facilitate or impede the creation of a functioning relationship with the client in Project Lata. Utilization of personnel management in volunteering

Utilization of personnel management in volunteering The diploma theses deals with a comparison of methods of personnel management in business and volunteering and answers the question of whether coordinators of volunteers utilize knowledge of personnel management in their work or whether they choose different strategies. Four theoretical chapters introduce the necessary information to understand the practical part. The first chapter anchors the area of volunteering by stating the basic concepts. The text continues to analyze the law on volunteering in more detail and thus provides insight into legislation in the area of volunteering. The description of volunteer centres and their function in the work with volunteers gives basic picture of this topic, before moving on to the main chapter, which discusses the different elements of human resource management and highlights the common and different approaches when working with staff and volunteers, as described in the literature. The empirical part then captures the methodology of the survey, its analysis and the conclusions which could be drawn on the ground of a limited number of realized interviews. Motivation of volunteers in retirement homes in Prague

Volunteers are an important part of everyday life in homes for the elderly. The aim of this thesis is to determine how the volunteers are appreciated, as are volunteers motivated and what is the feedback to their activities. The thesis also mentions the causes that may lead to the eventual termination of volunteering. The theoretical part deals with seniors as a social group, which is an important part of our society. It further explains the concepts related to volunteering and defines prosocial behavior. Another important term, which the thesis explaines is motivation. The term "motivation" is later used in the relation to volunteering. The research is based on interviews with volunteers from selected homes, specifically in Prague. These interviews are then analyzed, with particular emphasis on what lead volunteers to their activity and what are the important things that persuade them to volunteer in the future. Furthermore there are mentionednegative aspects of volunteering. Finally, there are analyzed factors that have an impact on volunteering activities. Finally, the work follows necessities that must be done to improve the quality of the volunteer program by workers as well as by volunteers.
The Motivation for Volunteering in the secondary prevention

This thesis "The motivation for volunteering in the program of secondary prevention" is conceived as theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part of thesis aims to identify the motives leading to the decision to participate in voluntary activities and what motivates volunteers in its execution. It deals with the basic concepts of volunteering, its historical background and with the analysis of the psychological aspects of motivation for voluntary activity, which is seen as a manifestation of altruism and prosocial behavior. It tries to find the reason that may cause underdevelopment of volunteering while offering possible solutions, which can help to overcome the outlined barriers. Consequently, acquaints readers with a preventive program Five P. Base of empirical part consists of empirical investigation. The aim is to find techniques to reveal the personality characteristics of volunteers in Five P program. In conclusion, author examines the use of acquired knowledge in practice. Volunteering as a tool of social pedagogy

SYNOPSIS The thesis has a form of a theoretical study with significant relation to practice in professional volunteer supervision in Kladno Volunteer Center. The thesis is divided in 7 parts. Part One is focused on the definition of basic terms such as volunteer, voluntary work. This part deals with the issue of awarding of volunteers. Part Two is devoted to the basic terminology of social pedagogy, including the definition of free time, the phenomenon, which is very important for both voluntary work and social pedagogy. Part Three is centered at history of social pedagogy and voluntary work. Key intersections of the two studied phenomena and their evolution are described. Part Four describes voluntary activities as a social phenomenon. Subparts are focused on the attitude of society towards voluntary work, the myths associated with it, as well as the volunteer work motivation. In part Five, I was trying to grasp volunteering as a tool of social pedagogy. The subparts combine my findings acquired from books and my own practical experience. Part Six is an analysis of a specific case of "Pět P" programme practice. Part Seven - the final one - includes a small scale empirical research.
