Contact restoration between mothers, former substance users, and their children in an environment of assisted contact services

Background: Substance addicted women face many problems such as stigmatization, discrimination or lesser social support. When addicted woman become a mother, this social-perception usually escalates. It is common that addicted women lose their status as a mother and are deprived of custody of their child, which furthermore leads to estrangement and decrease in mother-child relationship intensity. Mothers effort to regain her status tends to be more complicated in spite of her history, conflicts originating from marriage annulment, concern from childs guardians or lack of trust from the child itself. In situations like this, there are organizations that provide unbiased insight and are able to arrange assisted and monitored parent-child contact. Aims: Intent of this diploma thesis is to explore and describe the process of contact restoration of mothers, that successfully finished their addiction treatment, with their child using services of assisted contacts. Research questions aim to describe mainly the process of mother-child relationship restoration with mentioned services as a provider of environment for their meetings. Motherhood as the breaking point in the life of a young Roma mother

The aim of this thesis is to look into the lives of young mothers of Roma nationality and to get better understanding of influences that affect them and their adoption and perception of their maternal role. The choice of this theme is based on experience with previous working with Roma families. For the research, it has been chosen five mothers aged under 25 years, with whom were conducted unstructured interviews. In the theoretical part, there is a discussion about motherhood in general and later about its specifics in the Roma community. The greatest emphasis is taken on the receiving parent role. Firstly, the empirical part is a discourse about the choosen method - grounded theory. Then there is detailed description of data processing and data analysis. The following chapters are devoted initially to environmental influences to motherhood and later to the concrete experience of the respondents. The experience of motherhood is viewed from several angles - the time horizon (from conception to birth and the first reaction to child) and the importance of her baby to the mother, especially in terms of commitment and in the context of plans and wishes. Child in Ancient Egypt

This thesis is focused on the child's status in ancient Egyptian society, mainly deals with the context of the family. It examines the child education and development. The aim was to provide a different view of the child's status in ancient Egyptian society. For this reason, the knowledge of psychology and social work, which examine interpersonal relationships on a different level than the historical sciences was employed. The conclusion is that the status of children in ancient Egypt has been good, because the Egyptian company reported strong social conscience, which both protect the child in the family, and beyond.
Family Centre as a child` s preparation for attending the kindergarten

The main topic of the thesis is the activity of the family center and its activities. These activities help families with children in gradual adaptation and socialization into the collective. On the basis of these activities, the family center solves problems of modern families and helps in coordinating work and family life and thus helps children in entering the kindergarten. The first chapter is focusing on family and its characteristics. It also depicts the family politics specifically the possibilities of coordinating family and work life based upon the interests and needs of the families and support within the framework of services regarding the childcare. Second chapter focuses on the child, its development at two years of age and its needs. With regards to the methodological part of the thesis, it also focuses on adaptation and socialization into the collective and games as a spontanneous and natural child activity. The last chapter looks at the family center, its mission and goals. The methodological part of the thesis is realised as a case study in the specific family center. Anthropological perception of current home births without medical assistance.

The study discusses the current home births in developed countries. Introduction deals with the emergence of a model of human birth in the background of evolutionary mechanisms and the resulting biological risks, which are illustrated by data on maternal and neonatal mortality. Home births are understood in the complex scale, and so formation of current model of obstetrics in selected countries is shown in historical background. It brings most common image of women and the circumstances that lead to the choice of home birth. The study focuses on the comparison of home and hospital births due to the occurrence of undesirable health complications. As this comparison showed the results that births are largely influenced by medical interventions carried out, frequency of these procedures is also compared. Higher occurrence of interventions in hospital births can be partly explained by changes in the demographic profile of mother, which increases the risks associated with childbirth at home. Data processed in the study suggest that today's home births require extensive implementation of system changes, and therefore the home birth as a safe alternative is not recommended. Background: This thesis is based on the increasing number of mothers (using addictive substances), which are appearing in social services, particularly in the Authority For Social And Legal Protection Of Children Specificity of mothers using addictive substances requires a special approach by addictology services. It begs a question, whether such specifics as to meet workers of ASPLC in cooperation with these mothers. The aim of this thesis is to describe the specifics of the work ASPLC with these mothers. Other aims are to determine how the cooperation between the two sides takes place, whether and which problems can occure in cooperation with these mothers and describe the procedure for the removing of children of these mothers and the possible impact of abusing ilegal substances on the need for the children removing. Methodology: Respondents for the research were selected using the purposive sampling method. The research sample consisted 11 workers of ASPLC and three mothers using addictive substances). System of care for vulnerable children in the Czech Republic - its determinants and ways out

This thesis deals with the System of care for vulnerable children in the Czech Republic and the increasing number of children in institutional care. While processing was used mainly qualitative methods of collecting data through its own survey in the offices of municipalities with extended competence of employees engaged in the exercise of social and legal protection of children and interviews with selected staff of facilities for institutional care. There was also carried out a secondary analysis of data. Finally, there are some partial measures, whose implementation could improve the situation of vulnerable children in society and reduce the number of children placed in institutional care.
