Evaluation of the rationality of analgetic treatment in geriatric patients (I.)

: INTRODUCTION : Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative disease that predominantly affects geriatric population. However, geriatric patients are not often treated according to specific geriatric recommendations. OA also belongs to highly prevalent disorders managed mostly by symptomatic, analgetic drug treatment. The aim of this diploma thesis was to evaluate to which extend are clinical guidelines for management of OA focused (generallly and in areas of individual pharmacotherapeutic strategies) on specific aspects of rational geriatric pharmacotherapy. Diploma thesis was completed as a recherche thesis (part I.) for follow-up studies dealing with rationality of analgetic drug treatment in older patients (rigorous thesis of M. Miklasová MS, Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague, 2016). METHOD : 4 national and 3 international clinical guidelines for management of osteoarthritis in accessible languages, published between 2005 and 2014 years, were identified by literature search conducted between 9/2015- 3/2017. Title: Physical activity in facilities for the elderly as a means of self-care and independence Objective: The main objective is to identify through research the possibilities of movement activities of seniors in institutions for the elderly, as a means to their autonomy, self-care and independence of the surrounding area. Senior age brings with it many challenges and constraints, whether physiological or psychological means. According to my research (Morávková 2013), these problems can actually affect by physical activity in both primary and secondary prevention. But the question remains whether seniors have the opportunity to perform physical activity. In my research, I focused on a situation where the senior placed in a facility for the elderly and is therefore totally dependent on the supply of equipment. Methods: The thesis is the first part researches topics of geriatrics and physical prevention of seniors. In the second part I follow research which I addressed to all traced facility for seniors in the Central Region, a total of 49 homes. There I poll examined whether there are controlled hours of physical activity, how they are targeted, whether this benefit seniors exploits and possibly what finances have to spend to participate those hours. Title of bachelor thesis: Particularities of physiotherapy of geriatric patient at outpatient's department also with focus on the dance therapy Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with particularities of physiotherapy of geriatric patient. It focuses also on the possibility of using elements of the dance therapy as a part of the physiotherapeutic intervention of elderly patients. The work consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part includes the main issues of the geriatric stage of life, physiotherapeutic methods that could be used with geriatric patients and there is also further description of studies that are focusing on the use of dance therapy in elderly patients. The practical part includes methodology, selection of the patients and one of the three case studies. The case study consists of: anamnesis, detailed input and output kinesiology analysis and the evaluation of the standardized tests. Based on the comparison of the output and input figures of all three patients, it has been discovered that physiotherapeutic intervention with elements of dance therapy is beneficial not only physically but also mentally. The main goal of the thesis entitled "The selected methods of social work with clients self-non sufficient in health care facilities" was to describe and to analyze methods used in activation of the elderly suffering from dementia. It draws a comparison of different settings and explores workers's attitude to the methods of activation. The text of the thesis was mapped out into five chapters. The first chapter was set into the context of old age and ageing. The second chapter is concerned with the issues of self-sufficiency and dependency of old age and other related issues. The topic of the third chapter is old age in relation with memory. It defines memory and memory disorders in the elderly suffering from dementia. The fourth chapter is crucial and gives an idea of non-pharmacological and other possible activities which are eligible for application in practice and are intended to reduce cognitive disorders of cognitive functions and behavior disorders. The theoretical part enters into research carried out in four facilities which care for clients with dementia. Burnout of Nurses Working With Geriatric Patients

This bachelor thesis focuses on the occurrence of burnout for nurses working in retirement homes and long-term medical patients in the Central Region. The aim of this thesis was to determine the presence and level of burnout among nurses caring for geriatric patients, whether they are at higher risk of burnout nurses working in homes for the elderly or nurses employed in long-term medical patients, whether nurses know and follow preventive measures against burnout syndrome. The last aim was to determine whether nurses are content with prevention of burnout by the employer and propose effective recommendations for practice. Data were obtained by questionnaire technique and then analyzed by descriptive statistical method. I used a standardized MBI questionnaire and a questionnaire of my own construction. The results are presented in tables and graphs for clarity with additional comments. Respondents were nurses working at nursing homes and long-term medical patients in the Central Region. The questionnaire survey was attended by 102 respondents. Research suggests that burnout in the field of emotional exhaustion was found in 28 (27.45%) respondents. The most characteristic feature of the demographic development in the Czech Republic and other developed countries is population ageing. The aim of the thesis "The process and rate of disability among seniors" was to determine the extent to which disability interferes with the lives of the seniors and to map the development, progress and conditions of the pension system. After an introductory overview of basic concepts, a part of the thesis deals with a theoretical analysis of the European framework of social security of seniors and another part is concerned with the reform of disability pensions in the Czech Republic. The focus is also on the forms of care for disabled pensioners. The empirical part analyzes the areas related to the development of population structure, administrative agenda, overview of pensions according to the WHO diagnosis groups, total overview of disability pensions, the development of the structure of pensions, financing of pension administration, and the average age of retired people. The economic side is also included, where pensions are compared with average salary and also the economic activity of seniors. 3 ABSTRACT The theme of my thesis : Use of canisteraphy in the elderly retirement home. The theme: Theme of my thesis was to studying the effect of canisteraphy and its progress on the quality of live senior sof older people living in geriatric facilities. Qualitative study was focused primarily on ganges in sociability and social skills, cognitive area, especially perception of stimulation, memory training, attention and influence on overall to a new environment in a retirement home. Methods : The research had a qualitative charakter, since my direct participation during the theraphy in the retirement home the metod of my research became direct watching the seniors in combination with interwiev. The Results: Using interview and studies, we had introduced the process of canisteraphy and its progress in a retirement home. Results indicated a positive effect especially in the areas of sociability and social skills, cognitive and overall area of adaptation in new environment in a retirement home.
