Generation Z's attitude towards online privacy protection and data collection for personalized advertising

This Bachelor thesis looks at perception of the impact of personalised advertising on privacy protection of social networks users, namely Facebook and Instagram. In the theoretical part, therefore, the concept of privacy is first defined, generation Z is further characterized, and finally the business model of Facebook and Instagram, based on personalized advertising and data collection, is described. In the practical part of the work, in-depth interviews with representatives of the Czech generation Z are evaluated, and based on the data obtained, it is examined what awareness the Czech generation Z has about the functioning of personalized advertising, about the extent of related data collection, and finally about overall attitude and approach to the issue of online privacy is also examined.
Spam detection methods

Hlavním cílem této práce je navrhnout a implementovat detekční algoritmus na spam, který využívá výhradně záznamy provozu v podobě Netflow zpráv. Poskytovatelé internetových služeb musí spam detekovat, aby zabránili označování celých jejich subnetů za spammery. Algoritmus byl navržen na základě analýzy mnohých datasetů obsahující Netflow záznamy. Tyto datasety obsahovaly validní emaily, spam a také běžný internetový provoz. Algoritmus v prvním kroku využívá domain name system blacklistů pro verifikaci spammovací stanice. Veškerá komunikace ze stanic, které se objeví na některém ze seznamů jsou okamžitě zahozeny. Filtrační kritéria algoritmu jsou aplikována pouze na stanice, které nejsou blacklisty označeny. Tato kritéria byla rozdělena na akceptační a seřaďovací. Akceptační kritérium bylo navrženo k nalezení potenciálně významných stanic. Bylo formulováno pět kritérií určených k seřazování těchto vybraných IP adresy dle pravděpodobnosti, že se jedná o spamovací stanice. Za každým kritérium stojí matematická rovnice vracející hodnotu mezi 0 a 1. Celkový součet takto vrácených hodnot se u spamovacích stanic blíží k pěti, zatímco legitimní stanice mají hodnoty znatelně nižší. Výstupem vyvinutého algoritmu je seznam potenciálních spamovacích stanic seřazených podle pravděpodobnosti, že se jedná o spamovací stanice.

This bachelor thesis deals with public sector information, especially open data. It describes their definition, conditions, legislation and mandatory entities that are obliged to create this data. The next section deals with possible obstacles that may arise when opening, or reusing, open data. The protection of privacy and personal data is described the most. It states here what personal data is, how their processing is defined and who is the controller of personal data. In the last part, this work deals with the practical part, which aims to show how the basic way to use open data in a simple web application.
Protection of personal data

The primary aim of this dissertation thesis is to present a comprehensive analysis of the issue of personal data protection in the Czech Republic with regard to the regulation in the EU. The secondary goal of this work is to explore the historical genesis and material sources of the issue in question. The core information sources from which the thesis draws represent laws, judicial decisions, official documents and Czech/foreign expert literature. In order to achieve the objectives of the work, the methods that are generally applicable in the field of legal science were used. Therefore the method of description (including classification), analysis and synthesis is mostly applied. The dissertation consists of seven chapters. After a short introduction, it begins with a sociological treatise on the importance of the protection of personal data in the 21st century. Privacy is currently an important topic in the light of the rapid development of information and communication technologies which have been developing since the second half of the 20th century and burgeoned since the turn of the century. The thesis Protection of Crime Victims and the Media: Publishing of Mistreated Children Information before and after Passing the Law of Criminal Procedure Amendment in 2009 deals with the problem of secondary victimization caused by the media. More specifically, it focuses on the mistreated children and publishing that kind of information about them which enable their identification. It is concerned with the nationwide daily press and compares the situation before and after passing the Law of Criminal Procedure Amendment in 2009. This amendment introduced measures towards better privacy protection of crime victims with a special respect to underage victims and victims of some exceptionally serious crimes. The thesis compares the occurrence of information which enable identification of mistreated children in 2008 and 2011 in the three most popular nationwide dailies - Mlada fronta Dnes, Pravo and Blesk. It is interested in the following information: names and surnames of the victims and their family members, residence location, photos of the victims, their family members and their residence location. Legal aspects of the current personal data protection developments

This doctoral thesis is divided into ten chapters in which, together with the introduction and conclusion, it aims to describe and analyse the current development of legal regulation of personal data protection, especially from a substantive law perspective. The thesis analyses the existing legal regulations of the European Union, implemented in the legal frame of the Czech Republic compared to the new General Data Protection Regulation, which unifies the legal framework for the personal data protection in the whole European Union. The first chapter of the thesis describes in brief the development of the personal data protection legal framework, from the establishment of the right to personal data protection in human rights declarations to the gaining its independence from the right to privacy. Furthermore, the relevant OECD Guidelines and Convention 108, which plays a crucial role in the field of personal data protection, are described. Diploma thesis 77 million PlayStation Network accounts stolen, does it affect us?: An analysis of Internet discussions revolving around this topic deals with the case of what so far seems to be the biggest case of user information leak on the Internet. The introduction outlines the history and development of PlayStation consoles and maps major attempts to jailbreak the last generation of the console by hackers. The following section presents PlayStation Network itself, whose users were at risk of the loss of their online identity because of the attack and chronologically describes the course of breach-related events including the subsequent theft of user data. It also focuses in detail on the case of GeoHot - a hacker whose dispute with Sony alienated fellow hacker community and initiated retaliatory activities which as a result led to loss of data. Another part of the thesis examines the issue of digital identity and its protection, gives an insight into the history of the formation of the hacker community and further explains the phenomenon of existence and perception of the term hacker in the context of the Internet. Employer monitoring of employees - Monitoring of Flexible Work Arrangements Abstract This thesis focuses on three areas of interconnected legal issues, institutes, and topics that all come together within the scope of labour law and the actual industrial relations. The first area covers the protection of privacy and integrity of the individual as stipulated by the constitutional standards, general legal regulations, European standards, and binding international treaties and conventions. The second area covers the industrial relations as such; however, special emphasis is put on the protection of privacy and integrity of employees. Finally, thethird area covers the employee monitoring by the employer - at theusual workplace as well as when working remotely, usually from the employee's home. In the introductory part, the above mentioned sources of law are analysed and the normative framework is described, setting the limits of legitimacy and legality of employee monitoring by the employer.
