This thesis deals with the issue of body shaming in the top sports environment in the Czech Republic and its impact on sportsmen and sportswomen. The aim of this thesis is to find out through qualitative research the personal experiences of sportsmen and sportswomen with negative comments about their physical appearance and whether these experiences differ depending on their gender identity. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the basic concepts related to the issue, such as the body, shame and the ideal of beauty, which are applied in the analytical part to the data collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with male and female respondents who are or have been involved in the Czech elite sport. The analytical part reveals the main actors of body shaming, which contribute to the different perceptions of body shaming depending on gender identity. The main finding of this qualitative research is that men perceive this form of abuse as a motivating factor for getting better sporting results, while women view it very negatively and it affects not only their sporting careers but also their personal lives.

The sample consisted of 132 women, of which 46.2 % of respondents had experience of urinary incontinence during sporting activities. From the analysis of the questionnaire responses, it can be inferred that most of the respondents (98) have partial or no knowledge about pelvic floor. There would be a need for better education and awareness in this area. Attitudes towards preventive measures and training were mostly positive, with a high willingness to participate in preventive programs. 94 (71.2 %), showed interest in the preventive inclusion of pelvic floor...

Under pressure (television documentary about triathlon)
Zelenková, Aneta ; Štoll, Martin (advisor) ; Macková, Veronika (referee)
This bachelor's thesis consists of two parts of a bachelor project, which includes a documentary film and a theoretical study. The theoretical part first addresses the topic of documentary film, its relation to genre theory, and the depiction of reality. Within the documentary field, it further analyses the need for narrative patterns and storyline construction. These schemas and the motive of sport are further discussed from the audience's perspective using examples from the documentary series 30 for 30 by ESPN and the documentary film The Deepest Breath. It also briefly presents the role of sports documentary film in the production of television stations or streaming platforms, and the motivation for television stations to include more documentary films. Moreover, with the help of Bill Nichols's theory, it provides a basic introduction to documentary modes, which, besides the possible characterization of the documentary's expressive means, raises the question of the connection between the content and form of the documentary film. The goal of the theoretical work is to provide a basic introduction to the topic of sports documentaries, which directly leads to the practical part. The practical part is a sports documentary capturing a female athlete's fondness for triathlon. Observing the six- month...

Kakos, David ; Malá, Jitka (advisor) ; Jandová, Tereza (referee)
vi Abstract Title: Ultrasonographic comparison of the size of the cross-sectional area of the long head biceps brachii tendon in overhead athletes and non-competitive women Aims: This study aimed to compare the cross-sectional area (CSA) size of the long head biceps tendon (LHBT) and the prevalence of positive functional tests for LHBT lesions in volleyball and handball players compared to a control group of young, non-sporting women. This study aims is to determine whether overhead female athletes, specifically female handball and volleyball players, experience a reduction in the size of the cross- sectional area of this tendon due to many years of regular sports activity. Furthermore, This study aims to determine the prevalence of positive functional tests for LHBT in both groups and subsequently to confirm or refute the correlation between a possible reduction in the size of the CSA of the biceps long head tendon in female overhead athletes and the positivity of functional tests. Methods: This research is an observational experiment. Theoretical knowledge was drawn from available Czech and foreign literature sources written in Czech, English and German. 39 probands selected based on selection and exclusion criteria participated in the experimental part of the research.According to the set research...
