Bibliotherapy with abandoned children

Bachelor thesis "Bibliotherapy with children in children's homes" is about using the bibliotherapy for children in children's homes. The main target is sum up all theoretic information of bibliotherapy and children's home and then makes a suggestion of suitable bibliotherapeutics techniques and literature for children, who live in children's homes. This project should use as a inspiration for specialist and all people, who would like to use bibliotherapy with abandoned children. The secondary target is to determine the availability of literature and materials related to bibliotherapy. The project is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with bibliotherapy, its theory and examples of application in practice in abroad and in the Czech Republic. The second chapter focuses on the children's homes and in particular the problems of children, who place there. The final chapter presents a proposal bibliotherapeutics techniques, tailored directly to the specific problems of children in children's homes. The result is a proposal bibliotherapeutics techniques and literature focused on specific problems of children in children's homes.
Free time in facilties for clients with ordered institutional upbringing

Thesis deals with the leisure activities of children in institutions for children with ordered institutional care, the objective is to find a comparison leisure clients between two selected devices. The theoretical part describes the term institutional and protective education, including historical and current legal regulations, the procedure for their implementation. The school facilities indicates differences in educational work among selected children's home and children's home with the school. The article introduces the characteristics of free time and leisure activities with the documents relating to free time. The research part more familiar with the characteristics of the device and respondents. Interprets the results obtained through quantitative research, which was used as the main research technique structured interview with three kinds of questions (closed, semi-closed and open). The possibilities of aftercare for adult children leaving foster homes

The thesis is focused on the aftercare possibilities for young people who leave a children's home. Thesis presents the aftercare possibilities for young adults who leave children's home in the Czech Republic and in England. The thesis also describes institutional care in the Czech Republic as well as in England, reasons for the institutional care order, what facilities are provided in each of the countries. Next it focuses on children's homes, mainly on children's preparation to leave the home and the departure itself. The aim of this work is to present the aftercare possibilities and describing specific aftercare facilities that are available. Eventually this work compares aftercare itself in the Czech Republic and England. The work is focused on working-out the aftercare of these two countries and comparing the similarities and differences. It then focuses on whether these countries services could be used as some form of inspiration for each other.

Comparing the Success of Children's Homes and Detention Centres at Preparing Individuals for Life Outside an Institution Ivana Gabaľová Bachelor's Thesis 3.1.2012 SOSP FSV UK Abstract In her thesis, the author discusses the situation of young adults after leaving institutional care, their level of social integration and ability to cope with independent life. She deals with the impact of environment on the socialization process, with the nature and extent of potential for a successful life these individuals posses from their family, and what the role of the institution in the process of their preparation for independent life is. The paper examines differences in the needs of clients of children's homes and detention centres and seeks to identify critical factors determining success in their personal lives and on the labour market. Expert interviews with staff of both of these types of institution conclude that differences between children's homes and detention centres in this regard are negligible. In detention centres there is a bigger emphasis on obedience due to problematic behaviour of the wards, whereas in children's homes, children have more freedom. Upbringing of children in the facilities for providing institutional education

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse the influence of the concept of the institutional care in children's homes on clients. The introduction chapter provides the description of the psychological condition of the clients and how it is influenced by the institutional upbringing. The following chapters deal with the realization of the state education in children's homes and with the description of the system of the intitutional care and its development. The research has found out how a group of clients evaluates the changes in the concept of the institutional care and how this changes come into operation in their own life. The research was based on the immediate observation, analysis of the records and conversations with clients. The final evaluation of the research presents recommendations for further development of the improvement of the children care in the institutional care.
Child in foster care and it's birth family

Bachelor thesis "Child in the foster care and its birth family" deals with conditions which lead to realization a certain foster care and describes different types of understanding biological family of the child in the foster care. First part includes definitions of the most important terms that are incorporated in other parts of work. Second part of bachelor thesis describes steps that are necessary to accomplish the foster care in the Czech Republic. Work engages in procedures how to successfully become from an applicant of foster care to a foster career and a way of threatened child into a suitable foster family. Analysis of semi-structured interviews and analysis of documents are included in the third part. This part specifies major problems with contact of biological family and the child in the foster care. Birth family of the child in the foster care is perceived by foster careers and experts in two ways. Some experts and careers perceive birth family as a problematic and inappropriate part of the foster care. Some of them suppose relations between parents and child as an inseparable part of proper development of the child in the foster care. Professional faster care abroad

Bachelar thesis is devoted to the topic of professional foster care abroad. The target of the thesis was to show the way of the functioning this form of the substitute family care in two different countries. The first part describes the characteristics psychological aspects of the foster care. Another part talks about the professional foster care in Slovakia. After separation of Czechoslovakia, the system of the substitute family care in Slovakia was developing differently than in the Czech Republic. There is a literature dealing with these issues of the professional foster care in Slovakia so I could well study it and wrote complexly about this issue. There is also a part in my thesis about the civil association "Návrat", which supports the comeback of abandoned children in to the family. The important part of the process of comeback of the abandoned children in to the family is the social work with dysfunctional families. The final part of the thesis informs about the professional foster care in Norway. I was studying in Norway at the Erasmus program so I had the great opportunity to get the information about the system of the professional foster care from the people working in such a organizations in Oslo.
