Parent efectiveness training from the parents point of view
VACUŠKOVÁ, Simona
The bachelor thesis deals with Parent Effectiveness Training through the eyes of mothers who have participated the corresponding course. The main objective is to map the utilization of knowledge and skills acquired by participants in the Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) courses in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part focuses on parenting, its goals, educational tools, and parenting styles. The ideals and trends of modern parenting in the Czech Republic are described. Attention is given to Parent Efectiveness training, including the roots of the approach, an outline of its history, and an explanation of its basic principles. In the practical part, realized qualitative research is described. The research sample was compiled through voluntary selection with two predetermined criteria: the respondent had to be a parent and a graduate of the Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) course in the Czech Republic. Four mothers volunteered, with whom interviews were conducted starting with an in-depth question: "What did Parent Effectiveness Training bring to you?" The results are presented in individual case studies, followed by a collective analysis of each interview. The results indicate that mothers consider the Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) course to be universally applicable. They mention benefits of P.E.T. for themselves and their parenting, including working with mistakes - normalizing them and making subsequent changes in their experience (less blaming, more self-confidence, calming down), transitioning from the ideal image of motherhood to a realistic concept of the parenting role, gaining a new perspective, awareness of their own needs, improvement of communication with children through active listening, objective description of situations, expressing their emotions, and asserting their needs through the use of the "I-statement". The approach also positively reflects in partner communication. Respondents also appreciate the model situations in the course, sharing among participants, and the newly formed friendships.

Parenthood in lesbian families
Bláhová, Kateřina ; Lánský, Ondřej (advisor) ; Hyánková, Tereza (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with same-sex parenting among lesbian couples and its process. In the Czech Republic, it is possible for same-sex couples to enter into a registered partnership, although there is no option of starting families with children together under the same legal protection that heterosexual couples have. On the contrary, there is no legislation concerning this issue. That is why, although same-sex parenting is not explicitly banned, the state and society show no basic degree of acceptance of this alternative family form. That puts lesbian couples into unique circumstances, which they encounter on their way to and during parenthood. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the current situation of lesbian families in the Czech Republic using available literature and other sources. The thesis discusses the topics of the perception of homosexuality and same-sex parenting in the Czech society, the means of obtaining custody of a child and which ones are available, and what accompanying problems lesbian couples deal with on their way to parenthood. KEY WORDS LGBT, parenthood, lesbian couples, assisted reproduction, adoption

Sharenting as a form of communication on social networks
Bláhová, Noemi ; Švelch, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Vochocová, Lenka (referee)
The thesis deals with sharenting, i.e. the oversharing of information about children online by their own parents. The thesis itself then looks at what this content captures, who it is primarily aimed at and what parents are trying to communicate by sharing it. The theoretical part of the thesis elaborates the notion of representation and self-presentation. Subsequently, the concept of childhood itself and how it is represented in different types of media is discussed. In the second part of the theory, the concept of sharenting itself is anchored and its characteristics and possible downsides are presented. The practical part of the thesis was conducted on the basis of qualitative research, specifically through the analysis of selected articles and thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with ten respondents. The results of the research find that the participating parents communicate mainly positive content on their social networks through sharenting content, as well as authentic moments from their lives. They also try to present their children in a similar and responsible way. In terms of their own self-presentation, respondents tend to present themselves subconsciously rather than directly. Although the findings are not generalisable to the population as a whole, they offer interesting...
