Fantová, Michaela ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Hráský, Pavel (referee)
Title: Heart rate variability during walking in a forest environment and in a laboratory. Objectives: The aim of this study is to compare the variability of heart rate during walking in a forest and laboratory environment. Methods: In this study, heart rate was monitored using the Garmin HRM Dual chest strap during a 40minute walk in both natural and laboratory environments. The data were processed using Kubios software, enabling detailed analysis of heart rate variability (HRV). The research included HRV indicators such as RMSSD, SNS, and PNS indices, SD1 and SD2 indices, and a stress index, providing information on sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system activity and overall stress levels. This methodology allows for the assessment of organism responses to various stimuli and stressful situations. Results: The average values were as follows: heart rate was 92.5 bpm in the forest and 79 bpm in the laboratory; RMSSD was 21.5 ms in the forest and 34 ms in the laboratory; SD1 was 29 % in the forest and 30 % in the laboratory; SD2 was 71 % in both environments; the stress index was 16.5 in the forest and 10 in the laboratory; the PNS index was -1.835 in the forest and -0.95 in the laboratory; the SNS index was 2.63 in the forest and 0.965 in the laboratory. Conclusion: Sympathetic nervous...
Changes of mood state during walking in blue spaces
Horký, Matouš ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Turčová, Ivana (referee)
Objective: The aim of the work was to analyze how different types of natural environments affect the physical and mental health of individuals. Methods: 7 students of UK FTVS participated in the research. The participants visited the natural environment (blue area) in Prague's Troja and the laboratory in the UK FTVS building. While visiting these environments, they underwent: a 10-minute Stroop test to induce cognitive stress and 40 minutes of walking at a chosen pace. Current mental states and emotions were monitored using the standardized POMS (Profile of Mood State) questionnaire, which was filled in a total of four times during the visit. Results: From the average results of the POMS questionnaire (on a scale of 0-4, 0= not at all, 4= very much), it was obtained that the degree of anger in the laboratory environment was 0.68 and in the blue environment 0.39. Fatigue level 1.17 in lab and 1.19 in water. Depression values in the laboratory 0.67 and in water 0.54. Confusion was 0.88 in the lab versus 0.55 in the blue environment. Voltage in the lab 1.02 and in the blue environment 0.60. Vitality in the aquatic environment 1.51 and in the laboratory 1.29. The average values of individual POMS dimensions over time were (blue space) after the initial measurement: anger 0.40, fatigue 0.95, depression...

Kobr, Vojtěch ; Turčová, Ivana (advisor) ; Psohlavec, Lukáš (referee)
Title: Outdoor learning in physical education classes in primary schools in the Czech Republic Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to map the current state of outdoor teaching in physical education classes in selected primary schools (age 6 to 15) in the Czech Republic, and to analyze and compare teaching in urban and rural schools. Methods: The questionnaire survey was addressed to physical education teachers. A quantitative approach to research was used. The research sample consisted of 27 physical education teachers from 4 urban and 5 rural primary schools from the Czech Republic. Results: We found that all teachers use outdoor physical education classes when the class time and weather permit. They use this option because of the larger space, more activity options, and because the benefits of outdoor learning are applied. Activities such as athletics, ball sports and sports games are mostly included in outdoor PE lessons. Activities in the natural environment occur to a lesser extent in physical education. The difference in outdoor physical education between urban and rural primary schools is minimal. Conclusion: According to the results, outdoor learning occurs in the selected primary schools to a sufficient extent. Some PE teachers are aware of the benefits that outdoor learning offers, but...
Aesthetical value of environmental heterogeneity
Bufka, Ondřej ; Hořák, David (advisor) ; Janečková Molnárová, Kristina (referee)
Throughout their lives, people are in constant contact with the natural environments that surrounds them. The aesthetic value of this environment has a great infuence on man's relationship with it. There is also a connection between the aesthetic value of the environment and it's heterogeneity. Environmental heterogeneity includes physical, topographical and also biodiversity of the environment. It is also an important factor influencing it's ecological and aesthetic value. High levels of heterogeneity in a landscape can have a positive impact on biodiversity, resistance against disturbances and also on people's aesthetic preferences. Positive effects resulting from people's contact with visually attractive landscapes can further motivate them to protect and conserve nature and even improve their mental health. The aesthetic value of the environmental heterogeneity therefore has a great, but not yet fully exploited, potential for nature conservation and landscape management.

Revitalisation of the Hotel Facility by the Brno Artificial Lake
Švec, Martin ; Zemánek, Václav (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
This is the proposal of the new utilization of the former recreational centre, which is situated in the beautiful surrounding of the Brno lake. It has been abandoned for many years and is suffering from decay. It has been built in the 1970's for the demand of the Socialistic youth union (remark: the youth organisation of the communist's party). There were held international political conventions and educational sojourns for the students of high schools and universities. The new utilization will be analogous. Only the communist's ideals will be replaced with the ideals of today's democratical society – especially friendly relations between mankind and environment. There will be created the environmental educational centre with the meeting spaces, conference hall and accomodation. The universal concept enables the usage of the facility also for the international students' workshops, training courses, teambuilding events etc. The ecological educational centre primarily makes the good example and is the live educational requisite. Thanks to the concept of the original facility is very convenient the refurbishment to the standard of the energetically passive building, which consists from the natural materials and utilizes renewable energy resources. Because of the very poor technical condition and devastation of the building will be re-used only basement and steel framework. This solution is more economical than the demolition and following new construction. The construction core of the building is almost for free. However, only if we make minimal changes in the framework and we preserve the original building's shape. On the steel framework will be created the new lightweight housing, which will be made from wood, straw pannels and filled with the cannabis thermal insulation. Almost all the roofs will be covered with the photovoltaic foils and the heat source will be air heat pump. The area is very pleasant place to stay. It's full of sunshine all day long and offers very beautiful view of the lake. The main building and bungalows profit of the attractive views. All the former recreational area has was designed to make the people meeting together and to provide the freedom of move and wide variety of activities. However, the rooms and bungalows provide the highest privacy. The inside and outside of the buildings are shading into each other. All the recreational ground – in exterior and interior – is full of liveliness, in the opposite of the rooms, which are the private islands. This aspect, which is present in the former concept from the 1970's, is to be preserved. The former hotel building is distinguished by the quality architectural concept, above-average in the age of origin. It is thanks to the dynamically balanced composition – inspirative today too, and visually interesting interior design of the meeting spaces. This proposal attempts to continue in this qualities. The ground is enriched with the relaxational spaces and the outside gym path. In the opposite of the original state the area is open to the public and is utilized as a park for leisure activities.

Outdoor preschools
Kapuciánová, Magdaléna ; Jančaříková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Uhlířová, Jana (referee)
My diploma work is concerned with the themes of outdoor preschools and pre-school education. It searches for and is stemming from the similar subjects in foreign countries and within the Czech Republic. It shows what the benefits of children being outside are. It also searches and points out liabilities which are necessery to be taken into account. The work presents the used resources, which can lead to the foundation of the other outdoor preschools and their maintanence. The empirical study is managed as an action research. The first part of the practical section shows experiences of the outdoor preschools in general and it presents interviews with their pedagogues. The second part of the practical section deals with the opinion of experts and the non-professional community. Moving on, one then investigates the ideal level of achievement in separate competences in an ordinary preschool, and outdoor preschools. Further more, the next section is targeted at the expert's expectations and apprehensions about children staying at an outdoor preschool, taking into account their views in relation to outdoor preschools. Focus groups are being used to question the experts. The important part of the work is to analyse the legal enactments in relation to outdoor preschools motherly school.
