History of audio carriers and transmission of sound

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to describe the evolution of audio carriers. This bachelor thesis provides an outlook of history and present of the audio carriers. First of all, this thesis is going to get the reader acquainted with the theory of the sound transmission. It is aimed at propagation of waves and describes their differences. Consequently, analogue and digital means of audio recording are going to be discussed. The main part of this thesis devoted to the preservation of music. Firstly, the non-mechanical preservation of the music is described. This part involves the notation, tablatures, and automatic instruments. The following part deals with the mechanical preservation of the sound and describes the analogue technology of recording devices and audio carriers. In the last chapter, a digital recording and carriers are being discussed. The thesis also informs about the cultural and musical influence of individual audio carriers.

In the 21 century, it is possible to speak about enormous growth of people using English daily in their lives. English has become a language used in the global sphere and it is used in all fields of interests including science, technology, economics, law or medicine. Each of this field has developed its own “branch” of English language with its specific features and genres. Although each of these fields of scientific style is completely different, the aim of this bachelor thesis is to investigate them and identify their typical genres, specific features and diversities among them, using texts from specialised books and journals.

In the end, it focuses on the comparison of professional electro engineering and information technology texts and their analysis.
Supercapacitors for Energy Storage

This bachelor thesis focuses on problematics of supercapacitors. The first chapter deals with principles of operation of a supercapacitor. The basic principle, used materials and main advantages and disadvantages are described. Furthermore, are described applications of a supercapacitor technology in various branches of industry. The following chapter outlines another type of energy storage also with their advantages and disadvantages, what is more, a brief table comparing main parameters is presented. The last chapter focuses on the theoretical design of supercapacitor module.

The source text is divided into nine chapters from which several extracts were selected and analysed in terms of linguistics. Each of them is concerned with different area of electrical engineering and diverse variety of scientific terms is used. This bachelor’s thesis offers essential theory concerned with translation of scientific texts written in style of science and technology.
Impact of Netspeak on the Development of the English Language

The aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to analyze the Internet slang (Netspeak), describe its development, distinctive features and functions. Furthermore, the thesis evaluates the changes caused by Netspeak that occurred in the English language. By means of concrete examples the thesis points out the new elements of Netspeak which have contributed to the development of the English language and thus influenced Internet users’ command of language.

My bachelor thesis is focused on issues with social networking services and their influence on modern society. It addresses their history from the very first attempts to create a social networking service to the modern global ones. Later the thesis provides an explanation of the creation of a social networking service and its characteristic traits. Furthermore it outlines problems connected with the availability and overuse of social networking services that are subsequently influencing the human society. The thesis also analyzes the influence of social networks on language, interpersonal communication and cultural adaptation.

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to translate a scientific text and then comment on the various changes and modification it had to undergo in order to attain the approach on the transmission of information as well as the transmitted information itself. Several linguistic viewpoints were implemented, both syntactical and lexical, and the field of “Czenglish” is discussed, a linguistic field closely associated with scientific translations. Additionally, a brief theoretical introduction concerning forms of scientific texts and their properties is included.
