Reading and its role in the information society

Práce se zabývá čtením a jeho významem v informační společnosti. V úvodní části jsou definovány pojmy čtení a informační společnost a jejich vzájemný vztah. Následující kapitol^ se zabývají čtenářem, jeho charakteristikou, vývojem, motivací ke čtení a faktory, u které jeho četbu ovlivňují. Dále se práce zabývá samotným procesem čtení, rychlostí čtení a čtenářskými návyky. Zmíněny jsou také rozdíly mezi četbou odborné literatury a beletrie. Samostatná kapitola je věnována knihovnám a jejich roli v životě čtenářů a při podpoře čtení. V dalších kapitolách jsou popsány nej významnější výzkumy týkající se čtení a četby, které proběhly v České republice i po celém světě. Závěrečná část prácefvenuje mezinárodním organizacím, které se zabývají čtením, jeho podporou a rozvojem.

Cílem je vytvořit projektovou dokumentaci pro právě probíhající automatizaci skladu stavební společnosti STAV-ING Praha, spol. s r.o., který má přispět k racionalizaci podnikových procesů. Information politics of BRD

This thesis deals with the questions of information policy in Germany, covering the whole scope fo this matter. It focuses mainly on the behavior and activities of the federal government in the area of international sector support Germany. The beginnings of the information policy date back to the 60's of the last century, when the federal administration started to realize the importance of information, mostly fot the research area. The work follows the development of the German information policy up to the present. The most important chapter of this thesis concerns the current information policy of the federal government in it's whole scope of influence. The thesis deals indispensably also with the so-called operational plans, which comprise most of the information policy. The measures that were taken by federal government influenced the whole German informational environment, where many of significant information systems and services originated. This issue is 5 discussed in one chapter of thesis as well. The conclusion of this thesis evaluates and foreshadows future tendencies of the German information policy. Hypertext and hypermedia in information retrieval

Tématem práce jsou hypermédia a hypertext jako nástroj komunikace, zpracováni, ukládáni, šiřeni a prohlíženi informaci. Cilem práce je zmapováni problematiky a představeni hlavních faktorů kvalitního hypermediálniho systému. V práci jsou představeny vyhledávaci stroje se zřetelem na plnotextové vyhledávaci stroje na internetu. Analyzován je proces vyhledáváni informaci na přikladě systému OPAC. Rozebrány jsou požadavky na přístupnost hypermediálních systémů pro handicapované uživatele a pro mobilní zařízeni. Představeny jsou aplikace hypermédií v hypermediálním slovníku Wikipedia a použiti hypermédií v e-learningu.

The Systems Of Information From Science and Technology and Libraries

Vědeckotechnické informace, resp. informace oblasti STM (science, technology, medicine) maji svá specifika oproti jiným informačně-knihovnickým systémům. Informační chování uživatelů této sféry je do jisté míry odlišné od jiných kategorií uživatelů. Moment zpoždění a poločas stárnutí informací se liší v této sféře rovněž od jiných oborů a zpracování a distrubuce STM informací jsou více spojeny s elektronickými informačními zdroji, specializovanými digitálními knihovnami a databázovými centry. STM informace jsou často spojeny s procesy inovace a hospodářského rozvoje společnosti.

Competitive Intelligence as source of adaptation of small and middle enterprises

The dissertation focuses on the implementation of CI processes in small and middle enterprises. Given the research performed, the dissertation investigates the specifics of enterprises relying on CI processes -- here mostly the perspective of firm size was used -- and further tries to describe the character of that reliance on CI processes -- whether the reliance varies across different areas (Customers, Competition, etc.) or thorough the phases (e.g. phases "Analysis of information acquired" or "Dissemination of analyzed information", etc.). The conclusions of the research confirmed that the use of CI is more widespread in large than in small enterprises. Besides analyzing the form in which enterprises most usually apply CI, several key areas in which the use of CI is permanently neglected were identified. Theoretical part accompanied by accomplished research served as a basis for construction of the system for integration of CI processes which would be most suitable for the needs of small and middle enterprises. This system was created and then tested via its integration into the information system of an organization.
