Cluster point processes in insurance mathematics

Title: Cluster point processes in insurance mathematics Author: Veronika Veselá Department: Department of Probability and Mathematical Statistics Supervisor: RNDr. Zbyněk Pawlas, Ph.D. Abstract: In the present work we study point processes and their importance in insurance mathematics. With the help of cluster and marked point processes we can describe a model that considers times of claim occurence and times and hei- ghts of corresponding payments. We study two specific models which can be used to predict how much money is needed for claims which happened. The first model is chain ladder in the form of Mack's model. For this model we show chain ladder estimators of development factors, estimates of their variance and their proper- ties. We try to find one-step ahead prediction and multi-step ahead prediction, which we use for calculating prediction of reserves. We shortly review asymptotic properties of the estimators in Mack's model. The second model is the Poisson cluster model. Firstly we define this model and the variables entering the model. Then we devote attention to one-step ahead and multi-step ahead prediction. We also study prediction when some variables have specific distributions. Claims of the injured person for compensation for non-material damage in adhesive proceedings In recent years, the issue of compensation for non-material damage caused by a criminal offense and its discussion in adhesive proceedings has come to the forefront of the interest of both the highest courts and relevant experts, whose opinions on individual issues naturally differ. The factual impossibility of quantifying the immaterial damages of injured persons requires the necessary need for the existence of established decision-making practice of the highest courts and the establishment of at least basic criteria that determine the limits of judicial discretion. Efforts to strengthen the position of injured persons are obvious and certainly welcome, but care must be taken to preserve the accused's right to a fair trial, both formally and materially. This rigorous work is (apart from the introductory and concluding chapters) divided into a total of five relatively large chapters, each of which is devoted to one aspect of the researched issues, including a proposal to improve legislation. French Loanwords in Today's Czech Media - Lexicological and Semantic Analysis

This master's thesis deals with problematics of loanwords from French language in today's Czech media and it is divided in two parts: theoretical and practical part. First part, dedicated to theoretical explanation of the problematics on one hand, describes history of the development of the Czech language with regards to borrowing of foreign lexemes, especially focusing on French loanwords. On the other hand, it defines essential terms and provides linguistic basis for research that follows. Practical part first introduces detailed results of the research, which was lexical and semantic analysis of loanwords excerpted from three of this year's issues of Gurmet, a gastronomical magazine. Concerning methodology, a variety of lexicological and semantical publications or web tools were used to compose this thesis. Analysis attests that more than a half of given loanwords come from 19th century. Also, in the text material, there were found 17 borrowed lexical units with significant foreign traits and those were later lexicographically elaborated into a dictionary of neologisms. Furthermore, research and analysis that followed imply that from all of 207 excerpted lemmas only a small number of the examined Gallicisms adapted semantically into the system of Czech language, and on the opposite, all lexemes...

Autism spectrum disorders - parent's perspective

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to map how the child with autism spectrum disorder affects the life his parents and the perception of this issue by parents of the autistic children. The theoretical part is about autism spectrum disorders, their definition, etiology, development of professional perspective in this issue and how autism spectrum disorders affects the personality of the individual. Then it also briefly defines the family and family with a handicapped child, which is followed by a part about impact of autism spectrum disorders on family. Specifically the specific life situation of family, family resiliency and finally the sibling's issues. In the empirical part I submit the results of qualitative survey obtained through the interview. The research tries to look into issue of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder and attempts to discover the impact on parent's lives of autistic children. Comparing the diversity of free-living and symbiotic algae in lichen symbioses

This work discusses the diversity of free-living lichen photobionts belonging to the class Trebouxiophyceae (Chlorophyta). The introduction summarises the change in perspective on the possibility of existence of free-living photobionts. The main part of this work contains a list of lichen photobiont genera with their description and taxonomical classification. In addition, I summarize published records and of these organisms in studies focusing on diversity of aerophytic and soil algae. Systematical revision of the Bryophyte macrofossil remains described in the Tertiary of Bohemian Massif

The fossil record of bryophytes is significantly sparser than that of other terrestrial plants. This fact may be caused by low fossilization potential, incomplete preservation that does not allow a detailed study, or the inability of paleobotanists of precise identification of bryophytes fragments. The presented diploma thesis summarizes the findings on the hitherto published macroscopic samples of the tertiary bryophytes of the Bohemian Massif (České Středohoří Mts.) together with the yet unpublished findings from the Most Basin. The main aim of the thesis is a detailed description of anatomical and morphological features of individual samples and their classification into recent taxa. A total number of 16 samples were described and classified into 15 taxa across the system, specifically into 3 classes (Haplomitriopsida, Jungermanniopsida, Bryopsida), 9 families (Frullaniaceae, Fissidentaceae, Mniaceae, Aulacomniaceae, Amblystegiaceae, Thuidiaceae, Brachytheciaceae, Plagiotheciaceae, Neckeraceae) and 8 genera (Frullania, Fissidens, Aulacomnium, Drepanocladus, Thuidium, Brachythecium, Plagiothecium, Homalia). Probiotika ve výživě hospodářských zvířat

The thesis deals with probiotics in the nutrition for farm animals and their impact on the organism. The introductory part describes the digestive tract of cattle and pigs, their anatomy and physiology. The following section introduces other ways of how to improve the digestion of these animals. Then, after an overview of other possible ways of supporting the digestive processes, the probiotics and prebiotics are discussed from the viewpoint of their effect on the digestive tract. Probiotics are very important in the nutrition of animals, for they are microorganisms that have a positive effect on the general state of health (i.e immunity, the ability to convert nutrition, etc.). The last section gives an overview of the prices and dosages of a few selected probiotics used in farming.

- Recognition The recognition as a separate criminalistic method serves to identification of persons, things or animals linked to a criminally relevant event. The recognition is also procedural act regulated in a separate section of Criminal Procedure Code called Some specific methods of evidence. This classification, which has come into effect in 2002, shows that the importance and significance of the recognition can't be underestimated and in addition to the theoreticians it comes to the forefront of the legislature's attention. The thesis is divided into six chapters and each of them deals with the recognition from another point of view. In total, they cover the most important aspects of the recognition. The first chapter is devoted to a theoreticall introduction to the topic of recognition, its definiton, description of its essence as well as to an individual types of recognition, defining the basic differences between all mentioned types. This chapter also includes the theoreticall inclusion of this institute into a criminalistic science. Samuel Beckett´s plays on Czech theatre stages

Main theme of this bachelor thesis are theatre plays by Irish dramatist and prose writer Samuel Beckett that appeared in Czech theatres. In the first part of my work I describe the absurd drama as such as the life and work of Beckett himself. Further I will present all his plays together with the theatres in which they were presented as well as the plays published in the books. The second part of this work focuses on Samuel Beckett´s criticism in the contemporary press. In conclusion I will evaluace everything.
