Next, he deals with the design of smart clothes, which depends on the end users’ requirements. He also describes the possible construction of smart clothes, discusses the communication architecture, which considers a smart garment as a system with an emphasis on the communication facet, and the importance of a layering system for smart clothes.
Computer Games and the Human Brain
Hanuš, Marek ; Šedrlová, Magdalena (oponent) ; Ellederová, Eva (vedoucí práce)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with computer games and their influence on the human brain. The aim of the first chapter is to describe fundamental properties of the human brain and its abilities, which computer game developers consider when designing a game for their target audience. The second chapter focuses on human emotions and their manifestations, and how it might help developers comply with potential gamers’ requirements. Furthermore, the chapter describes how developers can trigger human emotions via different game aspects, in particular music, narrative, graphics and game mode, and how they use them to make the players subconsciously feel the atmosphere of the game. Besides, the influence of these aspects on the human behaviour is described. The last chapter of the theoretical part of the thesis deals with an addiction to games and the problems associated with it. The practical part of the thesis is concerned with research whose purpose was to either support or reject claims in the theoretical part. Moreover, it shows differences between genders in computer gaming and shows respondents’ preferences, which could help developers to improve the quality of their games.

Functions of Passive Voice Structures in Various Genres of ESP compared with Czech Language Use.
Zemánek, Dominik ; Ellederová, Eva (oponent) ; Baumgartnerová, Alena (vedoucí práce)
This thesis characterizes passive voice structures and their formation, meaning, usage, and functions based on the research of related literature. With its inherent change of word order, the passive voice provides writers with more options of text organization and enables them to emphasize some words while omitting others. Especially in scientific and administrative style, this can help direct readers’ attention to the subject matter, making the text impersonal and objective. The respective aspects of passive structures are described in terms of grammar, semantics, stylistics, and translation, and their use in Czech is also explained and contrasted with English. Subsequently, English for specific purposes is characterized, and finally, the frequency and functions of passives are analyzed in technical texts of three different genres. This serves to confirm and illustrate the differences between the genres and languages, as each English text is also compared with a similar Czech one.
Comparative Analysis of Renewable Energy Sources in the Selected European Countries
Konečný, David ; Borecká, Marcela (oponent) ; Ellederová, Eva (vedoucí práce)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to provide information about renewable sources of energy in Germany and the Czech Republic, mainly from the viewpoint of historical development, energy policy and utilization and potential of these technologies. After summarising the key events and treaties, which have a direct influence on the development of renewable energy, the thesis analyses the energy issue in Germany including its transformation of an energy sector called the Energiewende. The same methodology is used in an analysis of the renewable energy sources in the Czech Republic, including the comparison of the financial support of renewable sources in both countries. The thesis concludes with a chapter about impacts and potential consequences of the German energy transition on the Czech energy sector.
Impact of Netspeak on the Development of the English Language
Komorník, Michal ; Krhutová, Milena (oponent) ; Ellederová, Eva (vedoucí práce)

G Suite at Universities: Possible Benefits and Risks
Macek, Martin ; Haupt, Jaromír (oponent) ; Ellederová, Eva (vedoucí práce)
The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis is to describe and compare information systems of four Czech universities, specifically Brno University of Technology, Masaryk University, Tomas Bata University in Zlín, and the Mendel University of Brno. The thesis focuses on the overall appearance and design of the described information systems, with a focus on organisation, clarity, and navigation between modules and system applications. Besides, the bachelor’s thesis concentrates on particular modules of information systems, especially on schedules, emails and messages, file storages, and learning management systems - these modules are analysed and evaluated by students at the universities in the practical part of the thesis. Moreover, the thesis analyses and describes Google Apps, its security and privacy, and the practical part questions usage of Google Apps in personal and university life. The thesis also discusses and focuses on synchronisation and conversion of information systems to G Suite based on the quantitative research findings.

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to introduce the application of nanotechnology in sensing devices, provide fundamental information about nanotechnology including the description and the classification of nanostructures, and emphasise the possibility to enhance sensor operation by means of nanotechnology. The thesis also deals with the application of a nanowire as part of a sensor using the configuration of the field-effect transistor. Quantum dots and their application in optical detection, mainly in the field of nanomedicine, are considered in this thesis as well. The last part is focused on the advantages and current restriction of nanosensors.
Let There Be Light? Impact of Light Pollution on the Environment
Svoboda, Lukáš ; Mihai, Hana (oponent) ; Ellederová, Eva (vedoucí práce)
Light pollution is one of many types of pollution that threaten our planet. The main reason for its creation is the fact that light pollution is a side effect of industrial civilization. The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to define the concept of light pollution, describe means of its measurement and its adverse effects. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with defining what the light pollution is and it describes how it is manifested. Furthermore, possibilities of how light pollution can be measured are discussed. Subsequently, impacts on human health, wildlife, economy, safety, and astronomy are described and discussed. Towards the end, common light sources used for public lighting and their parameters are defined. Lastly, basic practices that help to reduce light pollution are presented with examples of correctly designed luminaires for outdoor lighting. The practical part of the thesis is concerned with quantitative research, whose purpose was to identify the level of awareness of light pollution among the general public. The data were gathered by means of the questionnaire survey.
